When Stars Align

“I’m having a total feeling of deja vu right now.”
Sadie said said standing in the airport, adjusting her ball cap. Matt stood infant of her, wearing his aviators, a backpack slung over his shoulder. He peered down, tilting Sadie’s head up to meet his gaze.

“Promise me you’ll visit when you finish recording?”

“Of course, I have to meet your friends. They sound fun!”

“I’m not sure ‘fun’ is a word I would use to describe them.”

“Well I guess I’ll see you later then? I don’t want you to miss your flight.”

“Yeah Babygirl, I’ll call you when I land.”
Leaning down his lips met hers in a sad yet passionate kiss. Wrapping her arms around his neck she didn’t want to let go, his arms wrapped around her waist.

“I’m gonna miss you Matty.”

“I’ll miss you too Sweetie, I’ll talk to you soon.”
With one last kiss Matt made his way towards the security checkpoint. Sadie watched until he was out of sight before making her way out.
She was surprised no one had approached her, not that her ego was big or anything, but just because that was her normal now.
Maybe it helped that Matt threw out the idea to wear something outside of her normal wardrobe. She wore skinny jeans, a black Avenged tank and converse with one of Matt’s hats pulled low over her brow.
Climbing into her car she made her way back to her apartment, she wanted nothing more than to grab the next flight to Cali and join Matt, but she had a job to do.
Pulling up at his house all of the familiar cars were parked in the driveway.
Walking in he was met by Brian, Johnny, and Zacky sitting in his living room.

“Is this what we do? Take over my house while I’m gone?”
He laughed, setting his bags down.

“Well I came over to feed Bella then head over to Zack’s, but Gena is in one of her moods so we’re hiding here. How was the trip?”
Brian piped up

“Amazing!”

“Uh oh”

“What?”

“That look, I’ve seen that look before, who is she?”
Zack asked with a smirk

“I found Sadie.”

“Your shitting me!”

“Nope, she was recording in the same building I was.”

“Recording?”

“Yeah, ever heard of Sadie Lynn a country singer?”

“Yeah cute little blonde…wait that’s your Sadie?!”
Brian almost choked on his beer

“Yeah, and it turns out she didn’t know who I was either so Ha!”

“Damn y’all are made for each other, both of you live under a rock.”
Johnny said, already half drunk.

*Two Days Later*

A loud hard knock woke Sadie up, half asleep she stumbled to the door peering through the peep hole.

“What. The. Hell?”
She opened the door to Jennifer, standing there holding her phone.

“No Sadie Lynn that’s my line! What the hell is this?”
She shoved her phone into Sadie’s hands with a picture on the screen.
It was a picture of Sadie with her arms around Matt at the airport, the headline read: Sadie Lynn’s New Mystery Man

“So much for not getting noticed.”
She mumbled, closing the door as her best friend walked in handing her an iced coffee.

“Not funny, who is that?!”
Jennifer has been somewhat of a publicist, wrangling in the crazy gossip stories about Sadie.

“It’s just Matt.”

“Matt? The guy from the lodge?”

“That’s the one, he was recording with Troy and we ran into each other.”

“So that’s why I didn’t see you this weekend, did you wrap it?”

“Jenn!”

“What? So you said he was recording?”

“Yeah, he’s in a rock band. Avenged Sevenfold.”

“No! Way! Your Matt is M fucking Shadows?!”

“You know who they are?”

“I’ve been listening to them for years! Are those dimples as cute in person as they are in pictures?”

“Oh my god are they!? And that smile, ugh it makes me melt. I’m supposed to go to Cali after I get done with this album, wanna go?”

“Of course! Maybe I can hook up with Syn!”

“Yeah, I’m going to have to do my homework and get their albums.”

“I have all of them, and their DVD. Thats it, order pizza we’re having an Avenged Sevenfold cram session tonight, I can’t have my best friend meeting those rock gods and not appreciate them.”
