When Stars Align

A scream filled the room startling Matt from his sleep.
Sadie sat up in her hospital bed looking panicked, ripping the iv out of her arm she tried to get up.

"Sadie no baby!"
Matt ran over, followed by a group of nurses who came storming into the room.

"No! let me go!"
Trying to push Matt away, but her strength was no match with his.

"Matt!"

"I'm right here baby, I'm right here! Look at me!"

The fear in her eyes was real, tears streaming down her cheeks.
The struggle continued, a nurse nudged Matt out of the way sticking a needle into Sadie's arm, she cried out in pain. After a few seconds she started to calm down

"Its just a sedative Miss Lynn, its going to be ok." the nurse tried to comfort her

"Matt?"

"Im right here honey."

"I need you."

She whimpered, grabbing for him, a dazed tired look on her face. Gently crawling into the bed he wrapped his arms around her pulling her close to his chest. She sank into the embrace, clutching his shirt for dear life before giving into the medicine.
