When Stars Align
The Lodge

“Ok Miss Jameson, here’s your room key. I hope you enjoy your stay!”
“I always do!”
The red haired lady at the desk smiled as I took the key. She knows who I am, but she allows me to have my privacy when I visit, even checking me in under a different alias every time. That’s why I love this place, that and it’s quiet.
Located in Cloud-croft New Mexico ‘The Lodge’ is an old victorian hotel, allegedly haunted and sat atop a large mountain in a tiny town.
This was my retreat after tours, or when I just wanted to get away. I don’t even have to leave if I don’t want to, theres a small restaurant downstairs next to a classic looking little bar.
I walked down the hall and found my room 105, slipping my key into the lock I opened the door. Its nothing fancy, a queen sized bed with end tables sat against the left wall, a small tv sat on a set of drawers on the right and the bathroom was also located on the right.
After months surrounded by people, noise, and living in my tour bus a simple room was all I needed.
I sat my suitcase and acoustic guitar case on the floor and sprawled out on my bed.
I closed my eyes and listened to the quiet, a welcome sound, nothing but the footsteps of someone passing my room.

“Here you go, enjoy your stay Mr. Sanders.”
The lady at the counter handed me my key with a wary look. I had never been here before, but I heard it was quiet and thats what I needed after our hellacious world tour.
I give her a dimpled smile as I take my key, I’ve been told I look a bit menacing when you don’t know me, like any other female she seemed to soften.
I walked down the hallway finding room 107 opening the door I tossed my bag onto the nearby chair and flung myself on the bed.
I closed my eyes and listened to the quiet…that was until I heard a large crash and a woman’s voice.
“Owww! Son of a bitch!”
I’m all for a sequel for this, I’d love to see more into their lives/relationship.
