Tough Vs Shy

2

When Brian woke up the next morning, his whole body ached. His shins and knees were especially painful and the area around his eye was sore to the touch. His back stung and he found blood on the bedsheets. Surprisingly, he hardly remembered a thing apart from he'd decided to go to bed with Matt. Must've been a rough night, Brian thought to himself as he sat up from underneath the covers. Looking to his side, he found the man he'd fallen in love with yesterday. He peacefully slept there, his chest rising and falling as quiet snores escaped his lips. Brian couldn't help but smile and admire the man. To think he'd once been scared shitless of him - Well, to be honest, he still was scared - But now he was in love with him. They were together. Brian just hoped it would last.

He quietly slipped out of bed and began searching for his clothes. He couldn't remember where he tossed them. Maybe Matt had cleared up after he went to sleep? He checked under the bed then after having no luck, he searched the wardrobe. All he found was Matt's large collection of band shirts and ripped jeans.

"Looking for somethin'?"

"Ah!" Brian squeaked in surprise as arms wrapped themselves tightly around his body and a head rested upon his shoulder.

"Did I startle you? I'm sorry" Matt quickly apologised, swaying slightly with Brian in his arms. The smaller man melted into his touch, leaning back against him.

"It's okay" Brian nodded, "I'm just trying to find my clothes."

"Oh, I put those in the wash because they had a bit of blood on them. Don't worry, I took everything out of your pockets and you can wear some of my stuff for today, okay?" Matt smiled, picking out a shirt and a pair of jeans at random before handing them to Brian.

"What about boxers?" Brian asked, looking up at his new lover.

"There's a new pack in the drawer, never been worn. Help yourself." The taller man replied, removing his arms from Brian's waist, "I'll be in the kitchen if you need anything."

"Thanks Matt" He said, a smile forming on his lips. Matt just nodded before heading downstairs to the kitchen. Brian closed the door behind him and grabbed a pair of boxers from Matt's drawer before quickly dressing himself and walking to the bathroom. He glanced in the mirror and frowned. There were a few bruises on his neck and his eye was still a horrible purple colour, the same colour as his shins. He just hoped to God that Matt would protect him from getting beaten up on Monday.

Soon after, he headed downstairs. He could hear Matt humming away in the kitchen and the sound of plates being placed on the table, before he loudly called for the smaller man. Brian quickly headed into the kitchen, to be greeted by Matt. He looked disappointed.

"Hey, you okay Matt?" Brian asked, looking up at the muscular man.

"Uhm... I was gonna cook breakfast but I fucked it up... You don't mind going out to grab some with me, do you?" He asked, scratching the back of his neck.

"Of course I don't mind!" He replied, a smile appearing on his face. Matt breathed a sigh of relief before wrapping his arm around Brian.

"Come on then, let's go get some breakfast" He smiled. The pair headed out the door and Matt led Brian to the garage. The smaller man looked around. There was no car in sight.

"Hey, Matt? We're not walking, are we?" He asked, looking up at him.

"You're kidding, right?" Matt chuckled, walking over to a large object with a cover over it, "You ever been on a Harley before?"

"Uh.. No?" He shook his head.

"Well, it's simple. I drive, you sit behind me and hold on for dear life" He grinned, pulling the cover off to reveal a black and red Harley Davidson, custom built just for him. Flames and skulls decorated the body. The thing had been very well looked after - not a singe speck of dirt could be seen anywhere.

"Whoa..." Brian mumbled, admiring the bike. He walked over to it and placed his hand on the seat, pressing down on it lightly.

"Like it?" Matt asked as he grabbed a leather vest jacket and two helmets.

"Dude, this is fucking awesome!" He exclaimed.

"I'm glad you like it. This one's brand new. I crashed the last one into some dude's car-"

"You mean a black car by the store?"

"How did you know?" Matt replied, cocking his head to the side.

Brian let out a laugh, "That was my dad's car!"

"Oops!" Matt chuckled, handing Brian the helmet and slipping the jacket on himself. He then sat down on the bike, tying a skull bandanna over his face, placing a pair of aviators over his face and finally putting the helmet on. He then looked up at Brian.

"Holy shit, that looks pretty cool" Brian admitted with a smile. Matt nodded and patted the seat behind him, inviting him to get on. Brian nodded and climbed on, sitting behind him.

"Alright, listen up. Bandanna on first, then glasses, then helmet. When we get going, hold on for dear fucking life."

Brian nodded and put the bandanna, glasses then the helmet on. He then looked at Matt.

"Why do I need to hold on for deal life?" He asked, his eyebrow raised.

"Oh, you'll see" Matt chuckled before starting up the bike. The engine let out a deafening roar, causing Brian to duck his head and cover his ears,

"HOLD ON!" He yelled. He felt the smaller man's hands grip his waist and he smiled behind the mask before speeding out of the garage and onto the busy road. At first, Brian assumed that Matt would keep his recklessness to a sensible level. Oh how wrong he was.

Matt doubled the speed limit within a few moments, flying down the main road without a care in the world. He overtook in a dangerous manner and jumped red lights, almost causing a collision behind him. He could feel Brian's nails dig into his flesh through his shirt and he knew that the smaller man behind him was scared. Luckily for him, the ride was shortly within a few minutes. Matt pulled into a car park behind the local McDonalds and climbed off the bike, slipping his helmet and glasses off and pushing his bandanna from his face to around his neck. Brian did that same and Matt couldn't help but chuckle when he saw the smaller man's expression.

"Dude, you look white as a ghost!" He howled, stuffing the bandanna and glasses into his helmet before hanging it on his arm by the straps. Brian didn't look impressed.

"We almost died!" Brian cried out, hitting Matt's arm weakly.

"Aww, sorry BriBri,. This motherfucker was hungry. I promise we'll go slower when we go home, okay?"

"Promise?" He asked, looking up at his lover.

"I promise. Now come on, let's get some breakfast" Matt nodded. He took Brian's hand in his own and the pair walked around the corner of the block of buildings. Matt paused just before the turn and he peeked around. 3 bikes were parked outside, each with their respective owners sat upon them. Matt gave Brian's hand a harsh tug to make sure he didn't give them away. He raised his eyebrows at the bigger man's actions.

"I wanna try something out" He whispered in response, "Just to see how they react to you with all those bruises on your neck. Make sure they see that helmet too, alright? If they turn violent, don't back away. I'll protect you. Okay?"

Brian gave a nervous nod and took a deep breath. Matt gave him a tight hug, reassuring him it'd be okay. He then set off around the corner, adjusting his shirt so it would show the bruises and he held the helmet against his side, held in place by his upper arm. The owners o the bikes looked over and laughed. Brian could feel his face drain of colour once he saw who it was.

Jimmy, Zacky and Johnny.

"Ooooo, looks like someone had a bit of fun last night!" Johnny howled with laughter.

"Where were you last night? Fucking o'l Sandy boy?" Jimmy roared, slapping his knee and doing the best to contain himself. Zacky got off of his bike and walked up to Brian, grabbing the collar of his shirt and ripping it right down the middle, exposing all of the other bites and bruises all over his upper body. Most of the bruises were from the beatings he took at school, but the rest were lovebites. Zacky's action caused Brian to drop the helmet, which bounced on the ground upon impact and rolled slightly.

"Holy shit! Zacky gasped, not noticing the helmet at first, "He's covered! Dudes, he fucking co- Wait a minute..."

The raven haired man looked at the floor. The helmet sat there, the bandanna and glasses still inside. Brian began to back away, despite Matt's instructions, full of fear of what the guys would do to him.

"That's Matt's helmet..." Zacky breathed, his voice trembling in shock.

"Oh shit... Dude we are so dead when Matt finds us!" Jimmy yelped.

"Shut up guys! Jimmy, you deal with the helmet, Zacky can deal with Brian and I'll keep a look o-"

Johnny's voice was interrupted by a loud, thunderous roar of an engine not too far away. The three bikers froze, knowing exactly who was on the way. Brian looked to the corner to which he'd arrived from moments ago, only to find Matt wasn't peeking around to keep watch. The roars became louder, a few car horns went off before a bike flew up the road, skidding to a halt in front of the McDonalds where everyone else was parked. The man got off and pushed his skull bandanna off of his face, before removing his helmet. His glasses stayed on s a personal preference.

"Just what do you think you're doing?" He snarled, walking over to the men. They all stood very still and stayed very silent, fearing the man's reaction.

"I said, what do you think you're doing?!" He roared. No one said anything, but they all trembled. He scoffed and walked over to Brian, placing his hands lightly on his bare shoulders.

"You okay, baby?" He asked, his voice suddenly gentle and soothing. He massaged his shoulders to try relieve some of the tension.

"I.. I think so.." Brian mumbled before burying his face into Matt's chest. He felt muscular arms wrap around his frame and hands run up and down his back.

"Shh... It's okay Bri... I'm here. They won't do anything to you" Matt reassured, glancing over at the men on their bikes and giving them the death glare.

"Promise..?"

"I promise. Come on, let's go inside" He said, holding Brian's hand as they both walked inside to order their food. Jimmy, Zacky and Johnny decided to stay outside. Once the pair were inside, Zacky picked up the abandoned helmet and walked over to his friends.

"Dude, we're screwed" He hissed at them.

"Why did we have to pick on him today...?" Jimmy sighed, burying his face in his hands.

"Look, maybe if we just talk to Matt, he'll understan-"

"Johnny, he's fucking dating Brian! There's no way to escape picking on him!" Zacky yelled, cutting the shorter man off.

"Why's he dating him?! He's a fucking nervous wreck!" Johnny groaned, "He's gonna ruin Matt!"

Jimmy let out a loud sigh, "Come on guys, let's just go. I'll call Matt later and ask him about it."

The guys nodded. Zacky hung the helmet on Matt's bike by the handle bars before returning to his own and the men sped off down the road. Inside, Matt and Brian were sat at a booth, happily enjoying their food. The roar of the engines caused Matt to raise his eyebrow, but he shrugged it off.

"Was that the guys?" Brian asked, looking up at him.

"Yep, most likely. Bet they got scared I was gonna kick their ass." He chuckled, leaning against the back of the seat, "Did they hurt you at all?"

"No" He replied, shaking his head, "But they ripped your shirt off of me."

"Bastards... Well, at least I can get more of those shirts..." Matt grumbled.

The pair continued to eat in silence. Matt was still furious about what had happened and Brian was still nervous, his body still trembling. A frown appeared on the muscular man's face before he slipped off his leather vest jacket and handed it to Brian.

"Here, wear this." He said. Brian took the jacket and slipped it on. To him, it was surprisingly heavy. Must have been because it was leather, he thought. Matt smiled once he was wearing it.

"Whoa.. .You look really hot in that" Matt purred, his eyebrows raising and a grin forming on his lips.

"You think s-" Brian began, only to be cut off by his phone. He let out a groan and slipped the phone out of his jeans before answering it.

"JUNIOR! Where are you?!" His dad roared down the phone from the other end. Brian almost jumped out of his skin and nearly dropped the phone, causing Matt's face to display a concerned expression.

"Uhh... I'm with a friend!" Brian stammered nervously, looking up at Matt.

"Why didn't you call me?! Why didn't you come home?!" His dad asked, demanding answers.

"Brian, lemme take it-" Matt suggested, reaching out for the phone. Brian handed it over with shaky hands. He placed the phone to his ear.

"Who is this?" He growled lowly.

"Who the fuck are you?! Where's my son?!"

"I'm a close friend of his. He's with me. There's no need to worry about him." Matt explained.

"Well, can you at least bring him back just so I can make sure he's okay?" Brian's dad asked.

"Maybe. Promise you won't do anything to him and I will." Matt demanded. If there as one thing he'd promised himself he'd do, it was protect Brian from any danger.

"I promise." The older man replied.

"Good," Matt said with a small smile, "He'll be over in a minute"

Aww thank you so much again!
To be honest, this is probably my best story yet along with Until The End and Please Don't Leave Me. The others need to be rewritten entirely because personally, I think I could do much better with them.
I think I'll definitely write a sequel to this one though. I've been coming up with possible ideas so it's a very good possibilty! :D
I'm just so glad someone's enjoying reading this story as I am writing it!
