Broken Sanity

Only Chapter

The stars were endless in the clear night sky. The moon was the only light on the car parked on an old dirt road. Gently rocking, as the widows fogged over from the two bodies heavily making out inside. The platinum blond woman leaned back to catch her breath, accidentally hitting the horn. A giggle escaped her as she looked down at the man she was straddling. "We need more room." she smiled as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "I got this, baby." he told her, his green eyes sparkling with excitement. Zacky reached down, and grabbed the lever that controlled the seat back. He pulled up on it, getting another giggle out of her as they both went down with the seat. "Better?" he asked with a small smirk. "Much better." she said, leaning down to feel those plump lips again. His smirk turned evil, unknown to her as she closed her eyes to kiss him again. He had to admit, this was much better. Easier to reach the surprise he had for her.

Zacky reached into the back floor board as the woman kissed him, his eyes open the whole time. His hand gripped the cold hard metal of the crow bar behind his seat. She wouldn't even see it coming. With one swift hard swing, the woman collapsed, unconscious on top of him. The smile vanished from his face as it went cold. He put an arm around her to keep her in place as he sat the seat back up. He opened the car door, and pushed her out onto the ground. He sat there for a moment, staring down at the woman out cold on the ground. It wasn't her. None of them were her, but he couldn't see that. She was the only one he saw in them.

Zack stepped out of the car, and opened the trunk, grabbing the duct tape and rope he had in there. He returned to the woman, and rolled her over onto her stomach before binding her hands and feet behind her back. He put a single piece of tape over her mouth before picking her up, and laying her in the back seat. Zacky climb back into the driver's seat before starting the car, and pulling off the dirt road. He wasn't always like this. He use to be happy. He had a wife, a house, a son. Everything was perfect. Then he saw her in the arms of another man. In their bed none the less. Then it all collapsed. She took everything from him. The house, the car, the kid, half his money, plus thousands in child support. She left him with nothing, not even his soul.

He turned down a dark gravel road that lead them to his final destination. The docks. At least he got to keep his boat. He wouldn't have a place to live without it. Good thing his parents let him put it in their name before the divorce. Zack parked the car, and killed the engine. He glance coldly at the passed out woman in the back. She did this to him. Now it was time for her to feel all the pain she caused. He got out of the car, and pulled her out of the back seat. Tossing her over his shoulder as he carried her on board, and below deck. The plastic that covered the floor rustled with each step he took as he walked over to he table he had set up specifically for her. He dropped her with a thud onto the cold metal table, and quickly cut her ropes before strapping her to the table itself. He brushed some of her bloody hair, from her head wound, out of her face. It was only a matter of time now before she woke up.

Zacky went back to the deck, and untied the boat from the dock. He set out to sea, the reflection of the universe shimmering in the ocean. They'll never find her. None of them have ever been found. Once he was a few miles out, he cut the engine, and dropped anchor. He looked up at the infinite sky, a strange calmness overcoming him. It was almost like this is what he was meant to do. Zacky lit a cigarette before descending back down below deck. He slid down the wall, sitting on the floor, as he waited patiently for his love to wake up. It wasn't long before a muffled groan came from the table, and that sinister smile came back out on his face.

Zack stood up, and walked over to the table, the cigarette dangling between his fingers. "Welcome back, Meaghan," he whispered, looking down at her, "I missed you." he said, running his fingers down her porcelain cheek. The girls wide frightened eyes met his. That wasn't her name. What the hell was going on? Her head hurt, and she couldn't move at all. Her words were nothing but muffled mumbles beneath the tape. Zacky held up a finger, silently telling her to wait a moment before grabbing a corner of the tape, and ripping it off, taking some of the skin off her lips with it. "HEEELP MEEEE! SOMEONE!" she started to yell at the top of her lungs. "AHHHHH! HELP ME!" Zacky mocked, his laughter following, chilling her to the bone. "Nobody can hear you sweetheart," he told her, leaning in close to her face, "There's no one." he whispered. "Please, let me go," she tried a useless plea, "I'm not Meaghan."

Of course those pleas fell on deaf ears. "I gave you everything," he continued on, ignoring the tears that started to fall from her eyes, "Why wasn't I good enough? How could you hurt me like that?" he asked, the pain clear in his eyes. "Please, I didn't do anything." she tried again, fighting back the sob. "LIAR!" he yelled, making her internally jump, and causing to sob to spill over. "I fucking saw you," he jumped on to the table, hovering over her on his hands and knees, "I saw him touching you. In our bed. Do you have any idea what it's like to have that image permanently burned into your head?" he asked as he put his cigarette out between her eyes. A high pitched scream erupted deep within her causing his sinister smirk to grow. "I didn't think so, but that's okay. You'll soon feel every ounce of pain you've caused me."

Zack climbed off the table, and yanked off a white cloth that was covering a tray of various torture instruments. The girl's eyes got wider, and her heart beat faster as the fear ripped through her. "No, no, please. I didn't do anything." she continued to try to beg for her life as the tears streamed down her face. She's a liar, the voices in his head started to control him. Teach her a lesson, they continued as he picked up a pair of pliers, and a knife. Make her suffer. Zack climbed back on top of her, his face full of rage. "Lies, lies, and more lies," he said dangerously low as he grabbed her tongue with the pliers, "That's okay. I'll make sure you can never lie again." he growled before sawing off her tongue with the knife.

The gargled screams filled the room as her mouth filled with blood from her severed tongue. Zack smirked at her as he waved tongue in front of her before tossing it on the plastic covered floor. "That's better." he whispered, patting her cheek lightly before tossing the pliers aside, but keeping the knife firmly in his grip. "You know, I can't close my eyes anymore without seeing you two together," he told her as he gently ran the tip of the blade across her eyelids, "I can't sleep. The images haunt my dreams, and now you're going to know what that's like." he said, earning another gargled scream as he sliced though her eyelids. The blood and tears burned her eyes with no chance of relief. She tried, but she couldn't close her eyes. "I LOVED YOU!" he yelled in her face before jumping off the table.

Zacky paced around the room, the girls terrified eyes following every step he took. "I gave you my heart," he hissed through clinched teeth, "AND YOU STOMPED ON IT!" he screamed, pulling at his hair in frustration. Show her how it feels, the voices started to take over again. End this. End your pain. A scream of pure rage erupted from the pits of his stomach before he finally snapped. "OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN!" he plugged the knife repeatedly into her chest with every word he spoke. The blood splattered his face with each blow until his stopped, breathless. He let go of the knife that remained buried deep within her chest, and looked down at her. The girls lifeless eyes stared up at the ceiling, and he leaned in close to her ear. "Now you know how it feels." he whispered, giving her a peck on the cheek before straitening himself out.

Zack wiped the dripping blood from his face with his sleeve, but it did nothing but smear it around. He took a few deep breaths before unstrapping the girl, and dragging her down onto the plastic covered floor. He wrapped the body up in the plastic, and secured it around her with duct tape. He drug the body up the stairs to the deck, her head bouncing off each step as he went. They'll never find her. She'll be shark bait just like the rest of them. He tied a few cinder blocks to the body, and hoisted her up and over into the ocean. He stood there, watching the body sink, the strange calmness overtaking him again. Why did this bring him so much peace? He walked back down the steps below deck, and folded up the table he used before tossing it in the ocean too. Even if they found that, the water would have washed away any and all evidence.

He stripped himself of his bloody clothes right on deck, and bagged them up, weighing them down before tossing them over board as well. He doesn't need to get caught before he's claimed his final prize. Making his way back down, he jumped in the shower to wash the girl away. By the time he was done, the sun started to rise in the horizon, and he knew he needed to get back into town soon. He had somewhere he needed to be. Zack drove the boat back to the dock, and secured it before making his way back to his car. She would be up soon, and he needed to get there. The almost bare early morning road made for a quick trip, and soon he found himself where he spends everyday.

Zack shut off the car. It wasn't to close where she could see, but it was perfect for him. She never knew. He was always there, watching and obsessing. It wouldn't be too long now. He just needed a few more to perfect his technique. Then it would be her turn. He lit a cigarette as he sat there and waited for any sign of her. It didn't take long. The rage filled his eyes as the door to his house opened, and he stepped out. Zack watched, gripping the steering wheel knuckle white tight, as his ex-wife kissed her new lover goodbye. What made his so much better? He took a long drag off his cigarette before tossing the butt out the window. It won't be long now, the voices told him as her lover left for work. We'll show her. That evil smirk made it's way back out onto his face as she disappeared back inside. "See you soon, sweetheart."

Notes

This is a one-shot I did for a contest. I know it's short compared to some of the stories I write.
However, if people like it, maybe I'll make it into a whole story :)
