Angry Pants and the Sex Addict

Brian's POV:

There wasn't much time until Matt spotted me. I knew I had two options. One I could high tail out of here. Two I could man the hell up and talk to him.

I would never get answers if I took the cowards way out. With a sigh I know the decision has already been made. Squaring my shoulders I make my way over to the bar.

I'm half way to the bar. My steps pause. Looking up I find Matt's eyes on me.

He's silent as I walk the rest of the way to the bar. Quiet still when I choose to take the seat next to him. It feels tortuous.

Time seems to speed up. Suddenly it feels as if weeks had passed. Glancing from the corner of my eye I double check he's still sitting there.

The bar tender comes over. He quickly excuses himself. I'm sure he felt the tension between Matt and I.

A sliding sound catches my attention. I see a beer in front of me. Matt's arm is returning to his side. I nod my head in thanks.

The unspoken space between us feels larger than the grand canyon. Matt sighs. It's clear neither of us knows how to start this conversation.

"Why are you here?" I ask breaking the silence.

"I'm staying here." Matt answers.

He knew I mean this hotel. Out of all the places in New Orleans. Of course I had to wonder why here.

A chuckle escapes. No I didn't actually find it funny. I just couldn't stop the chuckle.

"What's so funny?" He asks.

He turns to look at me. I tell him I'm staying here too. Matt nods his head a laugh bubbles up his throat. He clearly understands how ironic it is that we're both staying here.

The bar starts filling with people. We decide to go to Matt's room.
