You Will Always Be My Heart

Johnny's POV:

I had no idea what the hell Ellorynn was talking about. To get back what I lost? What fucking vessel?

My brain hurt from trying to figure out what the fuck Ellorynn meant. I'm sitting on my front porch smoking a cigarette. The mailman walks up to me.

He hands me an envelope with a deathbat on it. I open the envelope. Inside a letter is enclosed. I hold the paper in my hands.

Dear Johnny,

I know that as the almighty leader of Avenged Sevenfold you are a busy man. I just wanted to take the time to write you this letter.

I've been a deathbat (that's what your diehard fans call themselves) for just over five years now. I will be a fan until the day I leave this Earth.

While I was first introduced to your music by Bat Country I quickly fell in love with Lips of Deceit, Unholy Confessions and Eternal Rest along with many other songs.

I live every single day of my life with bipolar disorder. There have been times when I've been so low I have thought and even attempted suicide. I'm sure you can relate after losing The Rev.

I'm glad you are continuing to dedicate your life to music. With every album you and the guys put out you give us fan a piece of yourselves.

You truly give me and fans like me hope that even through dark moments there will always be a glimmer of light.

I know it isn't much but for the bottom of my heart I thank you, simply being you and giving us your all.

I couldn't believe what I was reading. A fan had taken the time to write me this wonderful later. I knew one thing for sure I had to meet this fan.

With the help of Jason Berry I track Kristy down. I'm saddened to learn she's in a local hospital. She's brain dead in a coma and she has no family.

My feet take me to Kristy's room. She looks awful with a tube coming out of her mouth. Her body is connected to machines which are keeping her alive.

"She's going to be unplugged in a few minutes." Her nurse tells me.

"I'm not leaving her." I answer back.

I take her hand into my own. It's barely warm. I'm worried I might break it that's how fragile it is.

"Please just let me talk to her for a minute." I beg the nurse.

"I can give you five minutes." She tells me.

"I got your letter. I'm sorry that I didn't get to meet you when we could have an actually conversation."

The nurse and a doctor walk into the room. A plug is pulled from the wall. The heart monitor beeps as the line on the screen goes completely straight. A tear falls from my eye.

It dawns on me that Kristy has no family. I'm truly bothered that this  beautiful soul would be buried as just another nameless cross in a Potter's field. I refused to let that happen.

Everything hits me. What I lost was Jimmy. Kristy is an empty shell she could be the vessel.

"The arrangement will be taken care of." I inform the doctor and nurse.

I walk out of the room. My feet take me to the front of the hospital. Pulling out my phone. My fingers rapidly dial the number.

"Hello?" Comes Ellorynn's voice.

"I've done what you asked." I tell her.

She asks if I have a name. I tell her everything I know. Ellorynn lets out a sigh on the other end of the line.

"This next part is going to be tough for you. I want you to go home and wait. Ilk take care of the rest of it." With that the call ends.

Climbing into my car I do exactly as I was told. I go home and wait.
