“Order up for Pauline!”

Pauline looked up from her phone and stood up from her seat. She slipped her phone back into her pocket and made her way over to the front counter, grabbing the tray full of hot Starbucks coffee and the box of donuts. She gave the barista a smile before making her way out of the coffee shop.

It was a lovely sunny day in Huntington Beach, California and Pauline had decided to grab some coffee and donuts for the boys. They were currently working hard on their new album Hail to the King and it had been a while since she had seen them or her own boyfriend properly. He had been working day and night to get the guitar parts amazing for the album as well as doing stuff for his Helwin amp line, and it was putting a lot of pressure on both sides of the relationship. Last night they had gotten into a fight over Pauline wanting to learn guitar and wanting Brian to teach her but he had complained that he had enough of guitar playing at the studio and didn’t want to have to do any once he had gotten home. Pauline had become annoyed and yelled that they hadn’t spent any time together lately and thought that this would help their relationship but all Brian did was brush it off and make his way upstairs to have a shower and crawl into bed. What Brian didn’t realize, til the next morning, was that Pauline had ended up sleeping in one of the guest rooms. He felt guilty for what had happened but he was sticking by his reason and wasn’t going to change his mine. Pauline would just have to wait till they had finished the new album.

Pauline walked the short distance from Starbucks to the studio where the boys were. She walked inside, smiling at Candice the receptionist and made her way down the hallways. She let out a giggle when she heard the familiar ‘Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!’ coming from the mouth of her boyfriend. She popped her head through the open door and smiled. “Knock! Knock!” She spoke softly, earning the boys’ attention.

They looked up and a smile automatically graced their faces. “Paulieeeeeee!” Jimmy yelled, jumping up from his drum kit and racing over to Pauline. “I missed my little butterball. Where have you been?!”

“Working JimJam and I missed you too. Here’s your Double Chocolaty Chip Crème Frappuccino.”

Jimmy grinned and took it from her hands, taking the lid off and breathing the smell of chocolate in deeply. “Ah, you’re amazing honestly. You’re staying here for the rest of the day. I don’t give a shit what you say.”

Pauline threw her head back and laughed. “Of course Jimmy.”

He grinned before spinning on his heel and walked back over to his drum kit in the corner.

“Peppermint Mocha for Mr. Shadows,” Pauline said with a smile, passing Matt a large red cup.

“Café Misto for you Gnome.”

Johnny glared at her. “I hate you,” he muttered. “But thank you gorgeous.”

“I hate you too Short Shit. Here’s a Vanilla Bean Crème Frappuccino for you Zee.”

“Thank you, baby girl.”

Pauline turned and looked at Brian, quickly averting her gaze to the cup tray once she caught Brian’s eyes.

“Here’s a Starbucks Double shot Energy Mocha Drink for you,” She mumbled quickly, passing him a brown and silver can.

Brian smiled and grabbed it, his fingers brushing against Pauline’s. She let out a small gasp when she felt the electric currents run through her body from his touch. After 5 years of being with Brian, he still made her feel breathless and weak at the knees.

He wrapped his fingers around her wrist and pulled her onto his lap. “Thank you and I’m sorry,” He muttered, resting his head against Pauline’s back.

Pauline nodded and pressed a kiss to his hand.

“What are you sorry about now Syn?” Matt asked with raised eyebrows.

“Last night Bri and I had an argument about not being able to spend any time together lately. I told him that I wanted to learn guitar and that maybe Brian teaching me would be a good way to spend some time but saying that didn’t help the situation.”

“Brian, do it. It’s something that Pauline’s been wanting to do for ages,” Jimmy replied, staring at his best friend.

Brian sighed. “I can’t right now Jim. I just don’t have the time. Between the guitar tracking and the Schecter stuff, I just don’t have any time to spare.”

“How about I do it?” Zacky piped up.

Pauline looked over at Zacky and shrugged her shoulders before peeking down at Brian. He didn’t look too happy about that but he knew just how much Pauline wanted to do this. Pauline knew that Brian wanted to be the one to teach her but he already had too much on his plate.

Brian sighed and nodded his head. “Great, let’s get started,” Zacky smiled.

Three weeks had passed since Zacky began teaching Pauline guitar and Pauline could honestly say that it was difficult but they were getting there.

It was a Saturday afternoon and Pauline was laying on a lounge chair out back next to the pool when she heard Brian barrelling down the stairs and jump into the pool. She let out a loud gasp when she felt cold water touch her warm skin. “Brian, you asshole. That’s cold!” She squealed.

Brian swam over to the side of the pool and sent her a smirk. “I could always warm you up.”

Pauline looked down at her lap. Even after 5 years together, he still made her blush. Brian pulled himself out of the pool and set himself on the end of the lounge chair Pauline was laying on. Brian gripped Pauline around the hips and picked her up, placing her on his lap. “I have a free night tonight. I figured we could go out to dinner and spend some much needed time together. Do you want to have a night out?”

Pauline smiled and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. “Of course I do silly. I miss you.”

Brian grinned and rubbed the exposed skin on her hips. “Good, go get ready. We’re leaving shortly.”

Pauline nodded and hopped off Brian’s lap before making her way upstairs to get ready. She pulled out some clothes before walking into the bathroom to have a quick shower.

Brian had taken Pauline to a restaurant called Spark Woodfire Grill. Pauline had heard that it had just re-opened after being closed for the last year due to major renovations. They were shown to a table in the back so they wouldn’t be disturbed and started to look at the menu.

After a few minutes of looking through the menu, a teenage girl came over. She had long blonde hair with brown under tips. She had snake bites and a pretty smile. “Hi, my name is Ashleigh and I’ll be your waitress tonight. What can I get for y’all tonight?”

“Hi, I’ll have the Honey Peppered Atlantic Salmon,” Pauline asked with a smile.

“And I’ll have the Grilled Chateau Steak with the grilled jumbo shrimp, please?”

“Of course. Is there anything else I can get for you?”

“Yes, can we also get some Garlic Cheese Bread for an Appetizer and we’ll also have a 2007 bottle of your Clone 4 Cambria Pinot Noir please?” Brian asked with a smile.

Ashleigh nodded. “Of course, I’ll give your orders to the chef and I’ll be back shortly with your wine and garlic bread.”

After dinner, Brian and Pauline grabbed some ice cream from Mangiamo Gelato Caffe and decided to take a walk along the beach. Pauline had noticed that Brian was a little distant and pretty quiet after dinner so she wanted to see if he was okay.

“Alright Junior, what’s on your mind?” Pauline asked, taking a seat on the sand next to her boyfriend. “Why are you so quiet?”

Brian stopped stirring his ice cream and looked up at her. “Pauline, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and I want to take over from Zacky-“

Pauline raised her eyebrows and smirked at him. “Are you jealous Mr. Haner?”

Brian looked away and sighed, going back to stirring his ice cream. Pauline rolled her eyes and moved closer to him. “I’m sorry baby. I would very much like it if you would take over. I love Zee but honestly, it’s fucking difficult to learn from him.”

Brian laughed and pressed a kiss to Pauline’s lips. “God I love you, Pauline.”

A few months had passed since Brian had taken over Pauline’s guitar lessons and tonight it was time for Pauline’s first solo gig. She had learned enough of the guitar to create a song that she had written for Brian and tonight Pauline thought it would be the perfect time to relay it to the world.

“Please welcome to the stage, Pauline Caruso!”

Pauline grabbed her Gibson Acoustic and walked out on the small stage, taking a seat on the stool that was sitting in the middle of the stage. “Well hello everyone, my name’s Pauline, as you heard. Um…tonight I’m going to sing a song that I want to dedicate to a special someone in my life. Brian, you’ve been in my life for 5 years and I couldn’t thank you enough for that. We’ve been through tons of shit together but I wouldn’t change it for anything. I love you, baby. This song’s for you.”

Pauline caught Brian’s eye and smiled at him before she began to sing the chorus directly toward him.

Once the song was over, Brian climbed up on stage and pressed his lips against Pauline’s in a kiss that was so full of passion, it left both persons breathless.

“I love you,” Brian whispered against Pauline’s lips before connecting their lips together again.
