Big Not So Bad Wolf

Zacky's POV:

It's a truly sad day for all of us. Joseph, The Healer has passed away. He was the man responsible for keeping us all healthy. 

He had been almost three hundred years old. His insight and knowledge would truly be missed. We are all gathered to mourn his loss.

My heart went out to Joseph's daughter Cheyenne. Her father was a caring man the least I could do for him is keep an eye on her. Especially given the fact that her pups are due any day now.

I know everyone was looking to me now. It's my job to find the perfect person to fill his shoes. There was little doubt in my mind that it's going to be a tremendously tedious task.

"I'd be honored to take his place that is if you'll have me."

Snapping my head I see Theorion standing there. It's a well known fact that back in the day before his rise to becoming High Alpha he was a Healer himself. There wouldn't be any one better.

Theorion is some one we all know and trust. The pack would be at a great disservice if I turned him down. Plus it would be just plain stupid on my part if I were to tell him no so I don't.

"Like you even have to ask. You're always welcome here. This just makes it official." I say grasping his hand in a firm shake.

Turning to everyone here I call their attention.

"Ladies and gentlemen as we mourn or tragic loss a brother has come forward to aid is in our time of need. Please welcome our new Healer, Theorion."

The applause is almost deafening. Theorion was a beloved member of our community. This just made it that much clearer in my mind. I could only hope that one day our people view me in that exact same light.

Excusing myself I make my way over to Cheyenne. Allie hasn't left her side since the news came early this morning. Watching the caring way Allie looked after her made me wonder how she would be when we had children of our own.

"Anything you need don't hesitate to come to Allie or myself." I tell her.

She nods her head. An idea strikes me. I make a silent mental note of it to myself. Cheyenne would need even more help seeing how as of right now she's an unmated wolf.
