Big Not So Bad Wolf

Allie's POV:

I still couldn't believe Zacky had asked me to marry him. In our world usually once a couple is confirmed mates that was it. Marriages and engagements weren't unheard of it's just not the norm for werewolves.

The fact that Zacky respected that I had grown up as a human and cared about that big human tradition enough to purpose to me spoke volumes about the kind of man he truly is. He has gone above and beyond to help make me completely comfortable in this my new life both with him and as a wolf. Not one time had he lost his patience even when I asked him a trillion questions.

There's never been a time when he was anything but understanding of the very real fact that I'm still learn the ropes of being a werewolf. He also made it a point to include me in every aspect of his life. While I'm sure there were some who didn't think I deserved to be here, Zacky certainly wasn't one of them.

In those rate moments when I was unsure of something Zacky would stop what ever he was doing as well as take some of his time to reassure me that I'm exactly where I belong. Which in both our minds is right by his side. He also not only asked me questions but he honestly valued my opinion on the topics we discussed.

When the time came to inform everyone they've been chosen for Zacky's new council he asked me to be right by his side. It was better to tell them in person so as to not overwhelm them with the unexpected calling of their name in the  announcement. Matt and Aurorabelle agreed immediately. Phoebe joked that in this new position she could finally found someone better but we weren't fooled in the least. That woman absolutely adores Brian.

Funny enough Brian made a comment along the same lines. He looked at Zacky and I like we're crazy when we just busted out laughing. Some times the two were so alike it was mind boggling.

Johnny seemed to know it was coming. When Zacky and I went to him he threw his arms wide and proclaimed to be the king of under wolves. Autumn promised she would keep him reigned in as she too agreed to be a member of the council.

Out of every one Declan's reaction was the most unexpected. He declined right away. Zacky wasn't giving up though.

He kept talking explaining what an asset Declan would. His resolve seemed to be crumbling. Zacky just kept taking and talking seemingly burying the poor man under a behemoth mountain until Declan could no longer deny Zacky's request.

The day of the announcement was upon us. Theorion even decided to make an appearance. He clearly wanted Zacky to succeed and was curious as to who Zacky has chosen.

"Thank you all for coming." Zacky says gripping my hand in his.

I'm sure he was feeling slightly nervous. This was is first major announcement as the High Alpha.

"The council will be as followed Matt Sanders, Aurorabelle Benjamin, Phoebe Jameson, Brian Haner Jr., Johnny Seward, Autumn Lucian and Declan Monroe."
