Big Not So Bad Wolf

Allie's POV:

I didn't know what was better that I had tonight off or that it's Halloween. Halloween had always been my favorite holiday.

No it wasn't the candy I loved. I could take or leave the costumes especially the really slutty ones that were no more than lingerie. As a kid I'd always loved the idea of their being other creatures in the world.

If you were to believe the news and the papers and all other kinds of media then you'd hear all the crap they're pedaling. Huntington Beach has fallen into the hands of a serial killer. One they all dubbed a "vampire."

It was easy to understand. The victims all had been drained of blood. Every single one was female. All under the age of thirty but no younger than twenty one.

The similarities stop there. The madman prey on female he can. There have been eight murders. Two African American women, a twenty one year old Asian female, a transgender woman and four Caucasian women.

Everywhere you turned their stories were being told. Police said they were doing their best to catch this monster.

I mindlessly listen to the news while getting ready for a Halloween party tonight. The news says that another victim had been found.

Four guys had tried already. I was done! My feet take me away. I needed some time to cool off.

I finish off my drink. I was debating about going back for another when a blur rushes past me. It's only then I realize how far away from the party I had actually gotten.

An arm wraps around my waist at the same time the other hand covers my mouth. I feel a breath against my neck.

My teeth latch onto the palm. Immediately the hand disappears. I slam my foot down. It connects with one of my attacker's.

"Please help. Somebody help me!" I run screaming for all I'm worth.

The guy catches up to me. The ground is meeting my face before I even know I'd tripped. My flailing arms weren't fast enough to stop my head from smashing into a rock.

I turn my head away from the rock. Out of the corner of my eye I think I see movement in the woods.

A hiss comes from beside me. A growl comes from the forest. My eyes bug out of my head at what else comes from it.

The biggest meanest wolf rushes by me spit foam frothing up its mouth. It slams into my attacker. My attacker tries to fend off the wolf but he's no match. The wolf's massive jaw latches on to his throat.

The last thing I see before I succumbed to blackness was the wolf looking right at me.
