I hate that I love you

Judith's Pov
As I finished singing, I got up and headed towards the balcony. But I heard Brent calling me, so I changed my direction. I opened the door and for a second, I thought Brent was standing there. But as I looked up, I realized it was someone else.

He had a perfect jawline and oh-so-chocolate brown eyes. He was wearing some sort of band T-shirt I guess and jeans. "What's taking you guys so long? I'm hungry." Brent said as he stood beside us. I realized I was staring at that 'perfect' looking guy, so I looked away.

"You're always hungry." he said, smacking Brent's arm. "You'll pay for that later, brother." Brent whispered to him. "Anyways. Judith, meet my brother." he said and I waved a little at his brother. "Hello, brother." I joked and it seemed as if his eyes were gonna pop out any second.

"Hi, and call me Brian. Not brother, please." he said and I chuckled. "Nice to meet you, Brian." I said smiling. "You too, Judith." he said and flashed a drop dead gorgeous smirk. "Did you guys know you can talk while having lunch? Don't make me starve anymore and let's go." Brent said and went down.

"What are we waiting for?" Brian said and I shrugged. "So true." I said and we both laughed a little. "You play really well. The guitar, I mean." I said to Brian as we were going down. "That was nothing special. I'm still learning." he said rubbing the back of his neck. "But you sing so well." he said and I looked at him, surprised.

"Me?" I asked, hoping that he didn't hear me singing. "Yes, you. You've got a really lovely and..... smooth voice." he said. "Smooth voice, should I take that as a compliment or...? " I joked. "A compliment, of course." Brian said wide eyed. "Relax, I'm just messing with you." I said chuckling.

Lunch went well. I spoke about my life in Atlanta and all four of them listened in silence. "But why would you leave Atlanta? I mean, isn't that a really posh place and all." Brian said. "It is and I love it there. But I wanted to see new places and meet new people. I'm really fond of travelling and my Mom has alwayd been supporting me. So when I planned to move in here, she didn't have a problem." I said.

"I'm sure you'll get everything you want. Just work hard and go for it." Suzy said and I smiled at her words. Brian flashed a knee buckling smile at me and showed a little thumbs up. "You two young men," Mr. Haner said pointing his finger at Brent and Brian. "....now that Judith's here, I want you boys to learn something from her. She's an intelligent girl." he said. "Yes, dad." Both the boys replied in unison.

After lunch, Brent and I were helping Suzy with the dishes. "Di Sue show you around Huntington yet?" Brent asked me. "She just showed me the departmental store and also the grocery for now." I said. "You heard her, Suzy? Your dearest Sue hasn't shown Judith any places yet." Brent complained jokingly.

"Not a word against Sue." Suzy said with a smile. "This always happens." Brent whispered in annoyance and I smiled. "Does anyone need any help in here?" Brian came inside and said. I was wiping the plates while I saw a surprised look on both Brent and Suzy's face.

"Is everything okay?" I asked Brent. "You're offering to help us in the kitchen?" Suzy said to Brian, who just nodded. "Wow...." Brent said and looked at me.

"Does he never helps around?" I whispered to Brent who shook his head sideways. "There's nothing much to do in here now. But you can help after dinner." Suzy said to Brian with a warm smile. "Cool." Brian said and went out of the kitchen.

"That was new." Brent said shocked. "That was indeed." Suzy joined in too.

Brian's Pov
Did I just offer to help in the kitchen? I don't mind helping but this is so not me. Ever since I heard Judith singing, I've been thinking to introduce her to my friends. Especially Matt. He can sing, she can sing too. So they'll get along well. And as Judith is new in town, she'll get some new friends too.

I heard the doorbell ring and a few minutes later, Jimmy comes into my room. He, for once, was not wearing his kimono. "I need to buy lenses and you're coming with me." he said and we both sat down in my balcony. "You have actual money for that, right?" I asked.

"Since I cannot use my Monopoly money anymore 'cause it's over, I think I'll have to use actual money this time." he said pondering. "You play Monopoly?" I asked narrowing my eyes at him. "I play drums only. But my ten year old cousin plays Monopoly." Jimmy said with a smirk.

"That explains why you didn't visit him last month." I said and Jimmy nodded his head. "Now it's your turn to explain why you never told me that you have the hottest sister in this world." Jimmy said. "I have a brother, and I don't think it's appropriate for you to call him hot." I said with a laugh.

"I'm not talking about Brent, you idiot. That girl downstairs, I'm talking about her. And don't think it's Suzy!" Jimmy said and I had to laugh.

"Are you talking about Judith?" I asked while laughing. "Who's that?" Jimmy asked cluelessly. And as if on cue, Judith appeared in her balcony which is right next to mine. She was drying her face with a towel.

"Are you Brian's sister?" Jimmy said and Judith looked at us. "I'm not his sister but I did call him 'brother' an hour ago." she said with a smile. "Dude, she's hot." Jimmy mumbled near my ear and I nodded in agreement.

"I'm Jimmy, Brian's best friend." he said. "I'm Judith, a friend of Brent." she said. I noticed the whole time they were talking, Judith had a smile on her face. "I can play drums. Can you play anything?" Jimmy asked her. "Unfortunately, no." she said.

"But she can sing." I blurted.

"I have a thing for singers." Jimmy said winking at Judith who chuckled at his action. "Does Matt know about that?" I asked playfully. "I meant 'female' singers." Jimmy said through gritted teeth. "I'll see you guys later." Judith smiled and went inside.

"Does she live here?" Jimmy asked me. "Yeah." I said. "Can I move in too?" he asked and I raised a brow at him. "What for?" I asked. "Because you're my best friend and your sister is gorgeous." he said. "She's not my sister, Jimmy." I sneered. "You wish." He said, making me glare at him.

An hour later, Brent came in and said, "Judith and I are going out. I'm gonna show her around, any of you coming?"

"No we're not." I said but Jimmy had other plans. "I'm coming!" he said and started doing karate moves. "We're leaving in ten. See you downstairs." Brent said and left. "What's going on in your head?" I asked Jimmy. "A lot of thinking....? " he said.
