The whole world knows!

Avery’s POV

“Ugh….please just stop ringing….” I mumbled, sinking to the floor in the kitchen behind the island. The piercing sound of every unrelenting phone in the house was driving me crazy! They had been ringing for days now and I didn’t know how much more I could take. It was like pure torture and my head felt like it was going to explode.

I put my hands over my ears and closed my eyes as I rocked back and forth, willing everything to go back to normal; to go back to the time when Brian and I could actually leave the house without being followed by the press; to be able to go to my shop without being mobbed by Avenged fans who wanted take my picture or meet the guys; or to be able to go into my own back yard without camera flashes! Everyone said the media frenzy would die down in a few days but I wasn’t convinced. Hell, I wasn’t even sure how the press had gotten ahold of our private numbers or address, but one thing was certain—the entire world knew who Maya and I were now and they were obsessed with finding out more about us!

“Okay so what do you think about this center piece?” I asked Maya, trying to ignore the screaming crowd that was cheering for our guys on the other side of the stage. I knew we were there to support Brian and the guys at this press conference, but this was the only time I had to plan our wedding.

Wow…our wedding. Even after a few months of being engaged to Brian the words still felt foreign to me. I guess I was in a constant state of perpetual shock and bliss that made all of this feel like some kind of dream. Though at the same time I couldn’t wait to be tied to man I loved for the rest of my life. I mean, I loved him more than I loved anything else in the whole entire world. Even Rocky Road ice cream and that was really something if you asked my family! I just couldn’t get over that fact that in a few short months I would be Mrs. Brian Haner Jr!

“Those are prefect, Little Gnome,” Maya said as she worked on my wedding dress design on her tablet. “Just make sure they will arrive before the wedding date. I heard some vendors take more than six months to get their products shipped out.”

I swallowed thickly and nervously chewed my bottom lip. This whole wedding planning thing wasn’t as easy and fun as I thought it would be. I mean, the wedding was in six months and every time I went to plan there was another fork in the road. It probably wasn’t the best idea to plan a wedding right after opening a new business or launching a new studio album, but we didn’t want to wait. Maybe I should enlist the help of the wedding planner my dad suggested because right now I had no idea how I was going to run my business, spend time with Brian and the guys, and get all of this stuff done.

“M…I don’t know if I can do all this…” I admitted, my voice shaking slightly. I desperately wanted to plan everything myself so that our wedding was perfect, but I think I had bit off more than I could chew.

Maya’s brown eyes instantly snapped into my line of vision and she put her hand on mine. “Don’t say that, Little Gnome. You and I are in this together. We will make sure it gets done, okay?”

“But what about the shop, the designs, the guys going on tour, and your plan to ask Matt to mar—” Maya’s finger pressed against my lips, stopping me in my state of panic.

“We will get to all of it and ex-nay on the Big Guy oposal-pray…” she hissed, looking around to make sure no one heard. Though I don’t know who would be paying attention to us when the guys had the crowd roaring. Not to mention Maya’s expert use of Pig Latin on the word ‘proposal’.

“But M—”

“No you and your wedding come first. Then we will worry about…you know what,” Maya said and I just shook my head.

For the past few weeks Maya and I had been throwing around idea on how she could ask Matt to marry her. If you asked me, she was getting a little impatient waiting for him to propose after my big day with Brian but I could see where he was coming from. I mean Maya freaked out and avoid Matt for days the first time he said those three little words and I bet he expected Maya to run for the hills if he took the next big step. The only difference was Maya was totally ready for the next step this time.

Oh, Matt and Maya were perfect together and anyone that saw them had to agree. I just wished she didn’t push her happiness to the backburner for me. She deserved to be happy too and then maybe I wouldn’t be planning a wedding by myself. We could be planning two weddings! But I knew I couldn’t push her into it or she would never go through with her plan. Maya was as stubborn as a mule and I had to let her do things her way.

“But anyway, I’ve got some dress designs for you to look at in just a minute. I just need to put some finishing touches on it…” Oh god, and there was her mischievous smirk. What was she up to now?

“Maya…” I whined giving her a pointed look. There was no way she wasn’t up to something. “What? Oh relax, I’m just messing with you, Ave,” she chuckled and I rolled my eyes.

“I hope so,” I muttered, pulling out my notebook with the guest list on. There was still so much to do, but if I could get the guest list done, then I could start on the invitations. Oh crap…I still had to pick those out too. Damn it!

“So what kinds of things can the fans look for in your new album or on your summer promotion tour?” the interviewer asked, causing me to look up from work for a moment.

“Fan should be prepared for a different sound from us. Our new album was self-produced and lets just stay it’s a little different and a bit…twisted,” Zacky replied, causing all the guys to chuckle.

“Twisted? How so?”

“Oh, that’s a question for the Rev…” Zack laughed, throwing his head back. “He is the mastermind behind most of the sick shit that happens on this album.”

“Yes…let’s just say there is a bit of murder….and sex…and sex after murder!” Jimmy yelled right before the crowd erupted with cheers.

The album was going to launch tomorrow and it seemed like the audience was more than excited. They were chanting lyrics from the singles the guys had already dropped and I couldn’t help but smile. The guys looked so happy sitting up there and I knew they were just as excited to share their new music with their fans. I just hoped they liked the music video that I animated for A Little Piece of Heaven, when it launched sometime in the next few weeks.

“Anything else we can expect? Anything softer than City of Evil?” The interviewer asked and my eyes instantly locked with Brian. My stomach fluttered and a light blush fell over my face when he smiled at me. We both knew that the woman was referring to our song that Brian wrote for our engagement. Just thinking back to that day and hearing the lyrics in my head sent shivers down my spine. God I loved him… “A little birdie told me that the last song on your album is a ballad. Is that true?”

“Yeah, Gates actually wrote the ballad,” Matt said, elbowing him in the side and interrupting our staring contest. “It’s called Dear God and its different sound for us but definitely something that fits into our repertoire.”

“Oh so Mr. Synyster Gates has a soft side, huh?” the interviewer teased as I looked back down at my list. If I was going to get anything done, I needed to focus and not on those oh-so kissable lips that were sitting across the stage. Why was he so damn handsome? “Care to comment?”

“Okay, so here are some designs for you to look at, Little Gnome,” Maya’s voice sounded next to me, bringing me away from the interview that was taking place. “Just scroll through and see which ones you like.”

As I took the tablet from Maya, I heard the interviewer repeat her question to Brian and I looked up. “Gates? Would you care to comment?”

“Erm…yeah,” he said shaking his head and looking away from me. Had he been watching me that entire time? I blushed at the thought and averted my eyes back to the task at hand. “Dear God is…uh…the biggest departure from the rest of the album. It’s got a bit of a country flare and it’s kind of a road song about being away from the people you love and wanting to get back home to them as quick as possible…it’s different from anything else that we’ve done…”

“And we think that you’ll probably hate it, so fuck you…just kidding,” Zacky added at the end and I just couldn’t help but smile. I guess that was the shortest and easiest way to explain the song without getting into the personal aspects of it. I really admired Brian for wanting to keep our personal life personal and not displaying it to the world.

“Hello? Earth to Avery? What do you think?” Maya asked, catching me looking down at my ring again. “If you don’t stop staring at that thing I’m going to take it hostage,” she warned and I just rolled my eyes and looked back down at the tablet again.

There in front of me were multiple pictures of breathtaking gowns, each one more stunning than the last. They were all form fitting with different styles of lace that flared out to a ball gown style at the bottom. “Maya…these are…wow…I don’t even know how I’m going to choose one…” I breathed, shaking my head at the screen. I quickly scrolled to the last one to see a very scandalous piece of lingerie on the model. My mouth instantly dropped as my cheeks turned bright red! “Maya!” I hissed, smacking her in the arm. “What the hell is this?” I blushed.

Maya threw her head back as he laughed echoed in our corner of the stage. Oh she did that on purpose! That wasn’t one of the original designs! She just wanted to get a rise out of me and damn her it worked! “I thought maybe you could use something for your wedding night too,” she laughed, wiggling her eyebrows at me. “But you should have seen your face! Ah! It was priceless!”

“You are not funny!” I said, pointing my finger at her with a stern look. “But it is cute isn’t it? It would show off that cute little toosh of yours that Gates loves so much!” Maya continued as she pinched my ass from the side. Man she was on one today that was for sure. Had she and Matt hit the bar on the way here?

“Will you stop it!” I hissed again just as I heard the interview say Brian and Matt’s names multiple times in a row.

“Hello? Earth to M. Shadows? Gates?” the woman said, waving her hand in front of Brian and Matt who were too busy looking in our direction. What? Did we do something wrong? “Looks like these fellas are a bit distracted today, huh?”

“You could say that again,” Johnny said, causing the crowd to explode with laughter. “Try working with them.”

“What’s got them so distracted?” the interviewer asked just as Matt looked back at her. “What was that? Sorry…” he said with a dimpled grin and I had to laugh.

“I was just wondering if those two ladies on the side of the stage were distracting you,” the woman said with a smirk, causing everyone to sit up a little straighter as all eyes turned to Maya and I. Shit…this wasn’t supposed to happen. “Do you know those girls?”

“Know them?” Johnny snorted.

“You could say that,” Zacky interrupted, earning a glare from both Matt and Brian. I didn’t like the way this conversation was going and judging by the look on Maya’s face, either did she. Unfortunately it was too late to get up and leave now—all eyes and cameras were now on us.

I swallowed thickly as a wicked smirk fell over the interviewer’s face. My heart instantly started to race as I looked between Maya and the guys, trying to figure out the best course of action. “So are these stunning ladies your rumored girlfriends everyone has been dying to know about?”

My eyes instantly snapped over to Brian as my heart mercilessly pounded against my ribcage. Oh shit! Oh shit! This wasn’t supposed to happen. We were supposed to let my dad announce our relationship after our wedding, not spill everything to the public now! What were we going to do? There honestly was not good way out of this because even if the guys denied our relationship, the press would still follow us around.

Matt and Brian looked at each other, seeming to have a silent conversation before Brian nodded. “Well, we were planning to do this at a later time,” Matt said, running his hand up and down the back of his neck. “But yes…those two beautiful ladies are our girlfriends,” he said only for the crowd to gasp.

“So there you have it folks! M. Shadows and Synyster Gates are off the market! Will you introduce us to the lovely ladies?” And if the flashing lights weren’t enough before, this new onset of lights was blinding. I put my hands up over my face and turned away, my face burning.

“It’s okay, love. Just let them take some pictures and then we can get out of here,” Brian’s voice suddenly sounded in my ear as he pulled me out of the chair. I looked up to find Maya and Matt already standing up with the guys posing for pictures as people cheered and yelled questions from the audience. What the hell was going on? It was like a circus in here!

“I don’t know Brian…” I breathed, never really liking to be the center of attention. “It will be okay. Five minutes and then you and I can go home…it will be better this way. Then we don’t have to sneak around. Everything is out in the open and now it wont be as much of a shock to the fans when we announce our marriage. We are in this together,” he said, his hypnotizing brown eyes locking with mine. In that instant all my fears and worries slipped away. Brian was right. We were in this together.

“So tell us, what are your names?” the interviewer asked, shoving a microphone in my face as soon as Brian and I joined the group. I clutched Brains hand as Zack’s arm wrapped around my waist in protective manner. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Jimmy doing the same thing for Maya because I bet she was just as freaked out about this as I was.

“This is Avery,” Brian answered curtly, stepping in front of me ever so slightly to block me from the intense camera flashes.

“And this is Maya,” Matt said right after. “And we would like to thank our fans and the press for respecting our privacy and continuing to respect our privacy as we move into the future. We cannot wait for you to hear our new album when it drops in six hours and we hope to see all of you at one of concerts this summer. Have a good night! We love you guys!”

The only problem was that the fan and press weren’t respecting our privacy because they had been lined up outside of the house and our shop ever since the interview, not to mention blowing up our phone. I didn’t know who leaked our private information but I couldn’t wait for my dad to get back from his vacation and fix all this!

“Just keep swimming…please stop ringing…just keep swimming….please stop ringing,” I sang as my cell phone started ringing in combination with the house phone. I didn’t know why Brian still had a landline, but after this event I was ready to get it disconnected and change all of our numbers.

I pinched my eyes shut and covered my ears even more as I willed the noise to stop. Where was my dad when I needed him? Oh yeah, that’s right he was at some ‘off the grid’ resort in Jamaica as he called it. No phone service. No email. Which was a great break for him, but not so much for us…

“Ave? Ave? Where are you?”

I slowly opened my eyes to see Brian standing in front of me with a frown on his face. “What are you doing down there, love?”

“Trying to escape the madness,” I grumbled. Brian helped me to my feet before he moved over and unplugged the phone. I guess the constant ringing was starting to get to him too. “When is it going to stop?”

“It should calm down in a few days, babe,” Brian promised as he pulled me into his arms and kissed my forehead. “It’s always like this when something new or big happens with us but don’t worry. The people get bored easy,” he chuckled though I didn’t find any of this funny. “Besides when your dad gets back he will clear all this up.”

“And he’ll be pissed…” I muttered into his chest, letting his intoxicating cologne sooth me. Man I never got sick of that smell… “We should have stuck with the plan.”

“You and I both know we didn’t have that option, Ave,” and he was right. No matter how they answered, the press and fans would have sought us out. Then it would have been even worse if the fans found out the guys lied to them. Damn it! There was just no easy solution with any of this.

“But the good news is that you get me home to do some wedding planning today…” Brian growled in my ear, pulling me even closer to him as his lips moved on my neck. I closed my eyes and a moan escaped my lips. Why did he always know exactly what I needed?

“It doesn’t seem like you want to plan to me…” I teased, pulling away with a mischievous smirk. I playfully bit my bottom lip and kept just a step away from him, taunting him as I moved. “Seems like you want to—”

“Brian! Avery! Where are you two?!” a voice thundered and the back door slammed shut. “We’ve got a problem and a lot of explaining to do!”

Matt’s POV

“I cant fucking believe this,” I sighed, running my hands over my face as I stared at a news article on my computer screen. It had been a week since the press conference and Maya and Avery were still the still the media’s main focus. Fuck! I just wished there had been another way around this whole situation. It was my fault for having them sit on the side of the stage. What the hell was I thinking? I should have known that the press was going to swarm from the moment they saw the girls! It’s what they always did!

“Where is Larry when you need him?” I muttered, reading through the article on the screen that was titled Metal Heart Throbs off the Market. The article didn’t say one thing about our new album. Instead it talked about how we hide Maya and Avery from the public and speculated how we met. Thank fucking god no one actually released their last names or else we would have even bigger problems. Though the press swarming my house and blowing up my phone wasn’t much better.

The article was accompanied by a picture of the girls standing on the stage with the band at the press conference. Maya looked as radiant as ever, almost like her face was made to be publicized while Avery looked scared out of her mind. Oh, Larry was going to fucking freak out when he saw this because we didn’t stick to the plan. What else were we supposed to do? We were fucking cornered!

After Brian and Avery engagement party, the four of us sat down with Larry and made a plan to protect our relationships privacy. We decided it would be best to make a short announcement after Gates’ wedding on the Avenged website to thank fans for respecting our privacy. That way the fans wouldn’t feel left in the dark by any pictures that may be leaked by the press. They would get the first hand account from us and not some tabloid. The only problem was that we didn’t make it that far and the girls were launched into the public by a stupid decision.

“Fuck this,” I said, exiting out of the article just as another press notification appeared in my email. I sighed and clicked on the link and my eyes grew wide. Fucking hell! There was no way! How the hell did they get that picture and that information?

I opened and closed my mouth as anger pulsed through my veins as I stared down at the picture of Gates, Maya, and myself standing in the jewelry store looking at Avery’s engagement ring. Where the hell did this come from and who took it? This was months ago! The further I scrolled down the page, the more my anger started to boil. I mean, how could some fucker invade our privacy like this and then sell it the press at the most opportune time? And if the first phone wasn’t bad enough, the next one had me clenching my fists so hard that I felt like the bones were going to burst through the flesh.

There was a picture of Brian and Avery on the side of the stage at the press conference and Avery’s hand was blown up to show her ring. “You’ve got to be fucking kidding me!” I raged, as I read the caption. “Looks like Synyster Gates is getting ready to tie the knot. We will keep you updated as we find out more information. Is M. Shadows Next?” I read aloud. Then to make it even worse, there was one of Gates and Ave’s engagement photos posted at the bottom of the article. “Fuck these assholes!”

Oh fuck no! No one was going to be snooping around watching us or watching me when I popped the question to Maya. It wasn’t any of there business, and it certainly wasn’t any of their business what Gates and Avery were up to. I mean what the hell were these people thinking? When was it ever a good idea to go follow people and around and take pictures of their personal lives? Oh, I was livid and we had to get ahold of Larry somehow to fix this mess before everyone found out about their engagement. I had to tell Gates and Avery and maybe the little blonde had some way to contact her dad.

With that thought, I quickly picked up my computer and headed toward the kitchen in search of Maya. With all the damn press following us around, I thought it better for her to work from home for a few days. Maybe if I was lucky I would find her on the phone with the little gnome so we could get a plan in action.

After I entered the kitchen, I stopped in my dead in my tracks upon seeing Maya leaning over the counter in a pair of short denim short. They hugged her ass in just the right way and if she leaned any more forward, her round cheeks would pop out the bottom. The view was enough to make my anger instantly dissolve and for me to forget what I even came into the kitchen to do. Damn, what kind of power did this woman have over me?

I carefully set my computer down on the table and bit my knuckle as those perfect little rounds appeared into view. Was she trying to kill me? A man could only take so much!

“Oh Fredric, don’t be silly she will love it,” I heard my laugh, her hips swaying every so slightly as I crept toward her. I couldn’t fucking wait to pull her into the hard mass that was forming in my pants. “So I will need you to show up about nine…” wait a minute…Fredric? Who the fuck was Fredric and why was Maya asking him to come over at nine?

Maya laughed again and shook her head. “Nope you and Andre will be the only men there and that is a promise.” What the fuck was going on. “And how about you surprise us with the theme. She wont expect it either way…oh it’s going to be amazing!”

She? Was Maya talking about Avery? Oh hell no, there was no way M was getting a stripper for Avery’s Bachelorette Party in my house. I refused! “Don’t be silly, Fredric. Of course you will get the deposit…don’t worry about a thing. Send me your invoice before the party next week and I will make sure your deposit is paid and then we will even up after. Plus there will be tips I’m sure,” Maya said turning around to see me halfway across the kitchen. “Yes, see you then. Thank you.” She quickly hung up the phone and looked at me with a raised brow.

“Sneaking around the house is not very nice, Mr. Sanders,” she said before turning around and writing something down in her notebook, her swaying lightly. No, look away from her hypnotizing ass. There was a reason I came into the kitchen… fucking hell why did she have the perfect ass and legs for miles?

I quickly closed the distance between us, grabbed her hips, and pressed her ass into my growing need. Maya let out a light moan as she looked at me over her shoulder. “It’s also not nice to invite strippers over to my house when I’m not invited…especially male strippers…” I growled in her ear, letting my teeth graze her earlobe.

“Please…like you aren’t going to have them for Gates’ Bachelor party. When is that by the way?” Maya asked, spinning around and putting her arms around my neck. Damn she was beautiful. I never got bored looking at her, which told me she was the one. Now I just needed to figure out the best way to take the next step with her without freaking her out. The last thing I wanted to do was lose her.

“Don’t try and turn this around. No male strippers in my house…and that’s final,” I said firmly and Maya rolled her eyes at me, just like she always did when she wasn’t going to follow directions. I loved her stubbornness most of the time, but not when other men were involved. She was mine and mine alone and I wanted her to know that.

“Well I wont have strippers at Ave’s Bachelorette if you tell me when and where you are having Gates’,” she countered and I narrowed my eyes at her. I wasn’t about to give up about the best night of Gates’ single life just so the girls could crash it.

“No way, babe,” I shook my head and she pulled away from me and rolled her eyes. “There is no way I’m letting you and Ave crash our party!”

“Then you better not say anything to Brian or Ave about her party!” Maya poked her finger into my chest. “This is top secret information that you’ve been entrusted with…or rather eavesdropped out of me. So no funny business, Big Guy. I swear if you ruin Ave’s party all of you guys will pay. Got it?”

“Fine…I’ll go out drinking with the guys that night. But no strippers!” I sighed, moving back over to get my computer. Maya was right, it was Avery’s night to have fun with her friends and I should respect that. But why was it so damn hard for me to swallow the idea of a stripper in my house? I didn’t fucking like it and I wasn’t entirely sure that I would keep my promise to Maya.

“You can have your fun night with Gates with no questions asked, so I expect the same courtesy with Ave’s party,” Maya finished just as reached my computer. “And speaking of Avery, did the reporters leave? I told her I would stop over so we can do some more wedding planning.”

“Not that I know of,” I grumbled. “And we have a bigger problem. The press found out about—” I started just as Maya’s phone started screaming with Avery’s ring tone Girls Just Want to Have Fun.

“Hold that thought, Big Guy,” Maya said before she answered. “Hey Little Gnome, what’s up?” I didn’t need to hear what Avery said because the look on Maya’s face explained it all—Brian and Ave found the article about their leaked engagement and photos.

And as if on cue, my phone sounded with a guitar riff, indicating a text message from Gates.

We’ve got a big problem. Jeremy will be there in five to drive you over here.

Shit, this whole situation was going from bad to worse….

Notes

So what do you think? Is the press going to let up? What did the press find out?

Sorry for the delay in updates! We will be slow for a little while but just stick with us! <3
