Summary
Brooke Sullivan's childhood was unlike any other. Being the little cousin of Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, drummer for the popular American heavy-metal outfit "Avenged Sevenfold", most people would think the young girl had everything. Things weren't quite as bright as the hot stage lights made them out to be though. Ever since Brooke could remember, her mom had been addicted to painkillers. She didn't know where her mother was, or if she was even alive. By the time Brooke was eight, she was basically an orphan. Her father was killed in a motorcycle accident, and Jimmy gladly took her in. For a while, life was great. Jimmy and his friends somehow managed to keep Brooke out of the spotlight, allowing her to live a fairly normal life. At the age of twelve, all of that came to a screeching halt when Jimmy was found unresponsive just three days after Christmas. Struggling with the loss of their lifelong best friend and trying to move on with their lives and career, Avenged Sevenfold eventually lost touch with Brooke. Six years passed until a leap of faith reunited the group, and this time, they brought along a new drummer for the ride. Can Brooke ever accept the young man that took over her cousin's throne? Can she forgive Matt, Zack, Brian, and Johnny for leaving her high and dry? Everyone is fighting their own personal battles, and only time will tell if Brooke's ties with the band really can last...through thick and thin.
