Problem meets Solution

Matt’s POV
When Brian and I watched how Amy drove off in Brian’s car I moved from one foot to the other, I had to go after her, what if this whole misunderstanding wasn’t solve with Amy being there, what if Sara convinced her I did something wrong, which I didn’t!

My hands were itching to run to my car and beat Amy to the airport, to make sure that Sara was still there, that she would listen to me again, because I haven’t gotten a real word out since she was thinking fooling her in some way.

Brian stared after Amy’s car and said nothing, he was standing there hands in his pockets all silent and it was killing me, killing me inside.
“Don’t you want to say something? Anything?” I finally broke the silence and Brian turned to me “Not really…” He shrugged and looked back until the car disappeared from view.

“Now get in the damn car and follow her” Brian turned immediately around and opened the passenger door to my car and sat inside before I even registered what he just said.
When my feet finally began to move, I was in the car within a blink of an eye and on the road nearing the airport while breaking certain speed limits on the way, but not giving a damn.

“You better hope that Amy will stay here no matter what the outcome of this is, or I will rip off your head, you know that, right?” Brian muttered from beside me but I couldn’t pay much attention to him.

As soon as I found a parking spot I jumped out of the car with Brian behind me. I ran towards the area where I hoped to find Sara and thank god I wasn’t mistaken.
I yelled for her as loud as I could, not caring that the people were turning around to glare at me.

“SARA! Wait! Don’t leave! You can’t leave me!” I sprinted to her and was suddenly stopped by a pissed off looking Amy. What the hell was going on now, wasn’t she on my side just a couple of minutes ago?!

Amy was far beyond pissed throwing words at me and finally the whole theater here was making sense, so Sara saw me with Val earlier today… she thought Val was Michelle… She confused the twins, but how couldn’t she… she didn’t know that both Brian and my ex wife were sisters, twins even and pretty much looked alike to an out stander.
“And YOU! You made me go after Sara, you promised me you needed her back, because you love her”

I widened my eyes at Amy, shit… Why did she have to say that now, I know I said it to her, but when Sara should be hearing those words, it should have been out of my mouth, preferably in a romantic setting, not us yelling at each other at the airport, her wanting to leave me, running away from me like that.

“And now I hear you pulled this stunt?! You can’t seriously think I will let you hurt my best friend like that! With your best friend’s ex! You are an asshole, Matt Sanders, the biggest asshole ever!”

Both Brian and I were looking at Amy and here tirade of hate against me, and out of the corner of my eyes I saw how Sara began to slowly retreat, but no way in hell I would let her leave me like this, when all it was, was a stupid misunderstanding, I just had to make her listen to me for once.

“You can’t believe I would let you go like that!” I pulled Sara back and whispered, my voice sounding strangely hoarse even to my own ears.
“Let go of her Matt, now, before I will kick you in the nuts” Amy was on me again and I shot Brian a pleasing look, we had to solve this, and I mean fast.

“This is all a misunderstanding! There is a perfectly good explanation for this!” I shot another look over to Brian, but he signaled me to explain it so I nodded.
“Yes, the woman this afternoon looked like Michelle, but it was my ex-wife, Val. She and Michelle are sisters. Twins even.”

“How convenient!” Amy and Sara let out at the same time, and I heard they weren’t convinced at all.

“Amy, I’m leaving now.” Sara said and those words were breaking my heart, this couldn’t be the end of us, not over something like this, this stupid misunderstanding, but this little stubborn woman was turning my world upside down right now.

“SARA!!! SARA!!!” I screamed on the top of my lungs now, I just couldn’t find another way of getting her attention, of making her wait… how could I convince her?! I tried to get around Amy, but she was always stepping in my way, and I swear if Haner wouldn’t soon get his ass over here and help me out, I would-

“He is right” Both girls snapped their heads at Brian, who finally seemed to have enough of this show.
“WHAT?!”
“He is right, Michelle and Val are twins, look” Brian grabbed his phone out of his pocket and showed Amy the picture of my wedding. Why hadn’t he done that before? And saved me at least some of the trouble, asshat!
“You can’t be serious!” Amy let out a deep sigh and looked at Brian confused.

“You guys really need to talk this out, before you take some rushed decision.” Brian walked over to Sara and forced her to look at him “Listen to what he has to say, if you still want to leave, he will let you go, okay?” Sara nodded and Brian kissed her cheek. “Good, I will take my wife home, you guys don’t need us for this”
Amy and Sara squeezed each other’s hands for a short moment, before Amy sided with Brian and followed him lead out the door, leaving me and Sara alone.

“Please, just listen to me… Give me five minutes of time to explain, okay?” I asked and Sara didn’t meet my eyes but in the end nodded slowly.
“Five minutes, my plane is leaving soon” She said with that stubborn tilt of her head and I suppressed the chuckle that threatened to bubble up.

“Times running” Sara said and finally her watery eyes met mine, I met a step forward wanting to pull her to me but she shook her head right away guessing my intensions.
“Okay… You saw me with Val, I guess… Val is my ex-wife and she is the twin sister of Brian’s ex-girlfriend. I know this is really weird, but we grew up with them, so that never really was confusing to us, but I understand it is for you.”
I had my phone out and looked at pictures from past stages in my life, I held my phone up to show her a picture of Brian, Michelle me and Val. Sara reluctantly took the phone and stared at it for a moment.

“She looked exactly… I…” She stopped looked at me then her features froze over again “Fine, you are not a asshole friend to Brian, I give you that… but why are you a betraying asshole to me… why are you meeting with your ex-wife, after you told me you were “happily” divorced?” She shot out and lifted her eyebrow; hurt shining in her beautiful blue eyes.

“I didn’t betray you, Sara… God knows, I never would. Val wrote me she wanted to meet me… I didn’t know why. I thought she had forgotten something, and I didn’t want to give you the stress of meeting her… Apparently I made every wrong decision I could today… every decision, but one.” I said and Sara frowned “What is that supposed to mean?” She demanded and I took a step closer.

I reached out and touched her cheek, she didn’t flinch away, so I was hoping I was getting to her.
“Val came to tell me that our dog died… Bella, she was our Labrador… That was all this was about. I loved that dog, you know…” I said quietly and I saw Sara’s eyes snapping up to me “And the only good decision I did today, beside following Amy to the airport was saying to Amy that I love you. Because, babe… I do, I fell so hard and fast in love with you. I’m still seeing stars, and if you decide now, that you still want to go and leave me, as Brian said, I’m not stopping you, but if you go, be sure to know you take my heart with you.” With that I stepped away and waited for her answer, would she turn around and leave, or would she trust me and come back home with me?

Amy’s POV
“I love you so much, I can’t believe I got this lucky” Brian laid down next to me and pulled me against him, our noses touching, I loved that he was saying these three important words so often, so carefree now.“I love you too, Brian” I sighed as my eyes started to fall close, he was robbing me of all my energy, really… but in a good a satisfying way.

“Amy?”
“Yes” I whispered back, almost asleep already.
“Would you consider moving here?” My eyes shot open at the question and I blinked a couple of times, “Moving in with me? I don’t want you to ever leave me”

My mouth went try and I stared up at him, I should have thought about this, especially after we both admitted to our feelings, but this question again was catching me off guard.

“Are you making it a habit of telling me important things right before I’m falling asleep?” I said drily and hoped he was not paying attention to the fact that I wasn’t answering his question.
“Amy…” Brian pulled me firmer against him, his heat wrapping around me making me feel home and safe, how could I say anything against moving in with him, but then again… I would be giving up everything else… and what if Brian and I didn’t work out? Then I would be left with nothing…

“You know… I love you, I do. And I would lie if I would tell you I didn’t want to move in with you, but…” I stuttered a little, not able to talk further… not finding the right words.

“But what? You know I would take perfectly fine care of you, babe… I love you, you love me… We have enough space here, you can move right in… I even allow you to redecorate, if you want to, you have free reign, except for the music room, that’s my second baby… and that stays untouched.” I heard the grin in his voice and I had to smile.

“It’s not about that, babe… Can we… can we talk about this tomorrow, I need to sleep about it, okay?” I asked and heard Brian sigh loudly.
“Sure, you didn’t say no, so that’s something to hope for” He pulled the blanket firmer over us and sleep overtook us fast.

The next morning I went right back to my laptop and did some working, I let Brian sleep and wiggled my way out of his firm grip, pushed a pillow in his arms and he seemed satisfied with the poor excuse. I looked at him for a moment before I could finally go to my laptop.

Within two hours, I had rescheduled all the important appointments, took all the notes that James had send me during the last days and made protocols and even added things from my memory to it.
I tried calling James but didn’t get a hold of him which was kind of weird, because he shouldn’t have an appointment today, he had blocked himself completely and wanted as written in his mail at me get some work done in the quiet of a no-meetings day. I made sure that every little piece of work was done which I had neglected during the last days and even did some planning for the next week.

I was really satisfied with myself when I felt arms sneak around my waist and someone lifting me up.“Why did you let me sleep this long, babe…” Brian murmured into the hollow of my neck, sending shivers down my spine. He was shirtless and his warm and naked upper body pressed to my back was giving me pretty wrong ideas.

“You seemed pretty fine with the pillow in your arms, so I thought I would finally take the chance and get some work done” I grinned up to him and he pecked my lips.
“Not waking up with you in my arms, is not making me happy… you should know that” Brian turned me around and hugged me close. I inhaled his unique scent and sighed, this really felt like the best place to be, and I really didn’t want to leave him.

“I want to move in with you” I blurted out, it came out of the blue. Brian quickly pulled away a huge smile on his lips but before he could do a happy dance I stopped him “But before that, I have to talk to James, I need a job Brian. I need something to do, I can’t and won’t live on your costs.” I added quickly and Brian’s features fell a little.

“But you really don’t have-” I shook my head “I don’t want it any other way. I will have to talk to James, maybe he is willing to give it a shot of me working from the distance, if… I won’t be able to make the step in career as I planned, but at least I would still have my job… and if I’m really settled here I could be looking for something new.” I said and even though I felt sad about the chance that was slipping through my fingers I was happy about the decision to stay with Brian.

“I bet you will get a new job here in no time, we could ask Larry… He knows some people-” Brian was interrupted from the doorbell and I frowned. Had Matt and Sara made up and wanted us to know, or hadn’t they made up and was Matt here to tell us?

I looked at Brian who seemed as confused as I was about the early interruption, but he trotted to the door nevertheless.
I watched his back while he moved ahead of me to the door, how his muscles moved up and down in his back, how his sexy ass was shown in his sport shorts, and my mouth watered for another taste of him.

I licked my lips and just when Brian opened the door, I felt my mouth run dry at seeing James at the door. What was he doing here, and why didn’t he tell me he was coming, and what was he doing HERE?!

I heard Brian curse and James stare at Brian, well… Brian turned around with narrowed eyes “Did you know he was coming over?” He asked and I heard the angry growl in his voice. I shook my head stepping forward while I saw James looking at Brian and his tattooed arms, and torso with a lifted eyebrow.

“What are you doing here James… I thought you blocked the day to have some time to work without interruptions” I asked and put myself between the two men that were still glaring at each other, what the hell was wrong with them… I mean come on, this wasn’t a freaking pissing contest.

“Amy, it’s good to see you.” James attention suddenly turned completely to me and he gave me a hug which was accompanied from a deep growl from behind, which came from Brian.
“Brian” James nodded his head in Brian direction and added “I’m sorry for the unannounced visit, you apparently weren’t ready to welcome any guests”

“Well, my wife and I are enjoying the time we have alone and we don’t tend to wear many clothes when we-” I slapped Brian’s naked chest to interrupt him but he just granted me with one of his famous familiar smirks.

“Why don’t you go put on a shirt, babe” I smiled at him sweetly, “While I show James where the living room is” I added and motioned for Brian to put some clothes on even though it was a shame to hide that glorious body from view.

“I’m feeling pretty fine without a shirt, I mean.. It’s damn hot out… and I know that you appreciate it as well” He smirked again, and damn wasn’t he right about that. “Hmhm” I heard James clearing his throat beside me and I quickly shook my head trying to get rid of the inappropriate thoughts that were dancing around in my brain.

“Sorry” I got out and finally continued to lead him to the living room “I caught up with lots of work today and I… I planned on calling you later anyway” I quickly announced while I motioned for James to take a seat.

“Do you want something to drink?” I looked around and was glad that Brian and I had made it upstairs yesterday evening and no discarded clothes were still lying around, I mean… hell I wasn’t even keeping lots of appointments and had already did a lousy job in the past days, I couldn’t risk making an even worse appearance now.

“Yes, some water would be good.” James nodded with a smile and I quickly went out of the room to get something to drink for all of us, but leaving Brian and James in the same room alone, wasn’t probably the most clever idea.
“Babe?” I called and heard some muttering “What?”
“Could you help me?” I yelled back and a moment later Brian was standing behind me his hands landing on my waist.

“How can I help you, Mrs. Haner” He whispered in my ear and I really had to concentrate to pour the water into the glass and not beside it.
“I just- I-I” I stuttered a little but then pushed him away “Stop it, I can’t form a coherent thought with you around… You know this could be the opportunity to ask James about the job change… if that is also still what you want… me to move in with you?” I asked and Brian gave me a sad smile “Of course that is what I still want, but… Babe, I really believe we can find you another job, if that is really what you want… we don’t need him… I can’t stand the way he looks at you, the way he touches you… Amy, don’t you see?” Brian asked and I shook my head, why was he always acting so jealous… James, was just my boss… nothing more nothing less, there never was.

But then again, why was he here now?

I guess I'm a little late for my comment now seeing that this story was over about four months ago. Couldn't read it back then cause I was busy with university and graduation. But finally I'm back, so I thought I'd catch up a little bit!

I really liked the plot, the beginning reminded me a little of the movie 'The Hangover'. That chemistry between both the couples was uh-mazing! And I especially loved how Brian started to realize that he had feelings for Amy. As for Mattyboy and Sara, they were my favorites :)

Good job, girls!
