James’ POV

I have to admit I had been excited about today, okay… I had been excited for a few days for the party today and I knew Ben had been as well, we really outdid ourselves on the preparation for this party.

It wasn’t that easy to get all the information out of Larry, because he hadn’t been sure why we would be doing something like that for the girls, if we were just friends… but in the end we could convince him and when he told us he didn’t have enough time to spend all day with them and that he would be glad if his girls were having a good evening to celebrate their graduation he would support us. And it seemed like neither Maya nor Ave had told him anything about the status we were in.

In which status were Ave and I?
I knew Ben had made it serious with Maya, but Ave and I?
We haven’t really been talking about that, but I knew that maybe tonight I could take the chance, and maybe she would realize after we went through all this for them she would finally admit that we were good together see the good in us, see how serious this was?

So after Ben, who was an amazing liar by the way talked Larry into giving us information on the girls do’s and don’ts we ordered the kind of food they like, we set up these girly drinks… Ben even organized a DJ and gave them a list with Ave and Maya’s favorite songs.

The only bummer in all these preparations had been Danny… as mostly.
He found out that Avenged was in the UK and asked to invite them.
Sure, we toured with them before, and we were also friendly towards each other, but inviting them to our party, or rather to Ave’s and Maya’s party, when those two were not keen on seeing their ex- boyfriends?!
No, thank you! And that was not all…

When I thought about it, did I want to run into Brian?
I mean, even though he betrayed Avery which made me furious, did I want to see him being reminded on how he hurt Ave?
And maybe even how he remembers how perfect she is? What if he wants her back right then?
And how would Ave feel? Seeing him there in the flesh?

He had been hurting her over and over, maybe he would be flirting right before her eyes with another woman… or even worse, with her? Wanting to make forget about what had happened?!

I shook my head, forget it James… not going to happen, we were clear about that.
Even Danny clear, I would say.

I straightened my clothes, looked into the mirror, ran my fingers through my hair a final time and nodded approvingly at myself, everything was ready… let the party begin.

I went to my car and drove over to Ave and Maya’s apartment, I couldn’t wait to see how Ave looked, only thinking about her in one of these sexy little dresses was making my heart pound faster.
I mean… Hell, she always looked fantastic, even without make up and just sleeping beside me in one of my shirts, alright, especially then she looked fantastic but when she would be all dressed up was another nice thing to look at… and all the other would be looking at her too, but she would be beside me, on my arm…

And boy I wasn’t disappointed, when Maya and Ave presented themselves to me at the door, they were ready to go, but I quickly shut the door behind me as if no one else were supposed to see them.

“I can’t take you out like that!” I finally got out after staring a full minute at them without saying anything.

“What? Why?” Ave frowned and I chuckled.
“Look at you, both of you… I mean, hell… that is bedroom clothes not going-out clothing.” I grinned and Ave slapped my shoulder rolling her eyes.
“Yeah, wow… speechless…” I stuttered again, my eyes staying on Ave.

“Where is Ben? I thought we gonna have dinner together?” Maya frowned looking at the now closed door and I smirked.
“We gotta pick him up at his home… He wasn’t ready and told me to get you two. His hair... and you know how he is..” I shrugged and Maya frowned but then a smile appeared back on her face.

“Okay, so where are you taking us?” Ave asked and I smirked “A place with food, and music, and alcohol and everything that we need… but I won’t say more… that is for you to find out, but you will love it.” I winked at her “Or… we stay here and party as three?” I grinned and got a slap from Avery.

“Quit the jokes, James… then let’s go.” Ave hooked her arm into my right one, while Maya took the left and I smiled, while walking with these two beauty’s on my arm out of the door I would take my time to get to the party, cause I really could get used to this…

We were only a few minutes late when we arrived at Ben’s house and I loved to see the smile and the shocked expression on Avery’s face when we entered his home and everybody yelled Congratulations, god it was perfect.

Avery seemed so happy and that smile never vanished from her face, she was happily bouncing around, fascinated with all her favorite foods and drinks, and I couldn’t whip that dumb grin from my face, because I was responsible for her happiness.

“Thank you” Ave pressed her lips to mine, and I hugged her even closer “Your welcome” I mumbled into our kiss and my hands pulled her as close as possible, my arms around her slim hips while her arms sneaked around my neck.

“That really was a surprise” She grinned up to me when I finally let us breathe after the kiss.
“Glad it worked” I grinned down on her “Should I show you around some more? We got all your favorite things” I said proudly and Ave smirked.
“Why don’t I make us another drink and then we-”
“CASS! YO CASS!” Danny loud booming voice sounded over the music and I cringed, what did he want now?

He stood suddenly beside me and I frowned “What?” I more snapped then asked and he lifted his eyebrow at me.
“I need your help, come on over… you will get enough time to do whatever the fuck you want with Blondie, but now come…” He pulled on my arm and my eyes moved back to Ave longingly, I didn’t wanna leave her.

“It’s fine… I’ll sit at the bar and make us a nice drink and then you can come over there and grab me to the dance floor or show me around some more, however you like” Ave winked at me and I nodded.
“Fine… but this better be important, Worsnop” I growled when I followed him and Ave turned around to head towards the bar.

Brian’s POV

After receiving the invitation to the party I was more or less debating with myself if I should go or not. I saw the other being excited of going, but I also saw the same expression on Matt’s face as on mine, uncertainty.

Of course I liked to party, but a party there, with many people I don’t know and the Asking guys, what if that means that they will just remind me of Avery, what if they would even ask me about her…

‘Where is she? Why did you break up?’ Or even worse things, I didn’t wanna think about…
I wouldn’t stand that, maybe I should go for the sake of the other but if someone would start with that topic I’ll leave? Would that be a plan?
Or I could drink so much that… I just don’t remember anything… Nah, couldn’t do that, not after what happened the last times…

“And?” Matt sat down beside me.
“And what?” I asked looking up to meet his eyes, even though I knew exactly what he wanted to know.
“What do you think? Should we go?” He repeated and rolled his eyes and I couldn’t keep the smirk from my lips.
“As much as you want, I guess” I shrugged and Matt chuckled lightly.

“Could think of better things then going to that party…” I trailed off, because I really couldn’t.
“Like?” Jimmy lifted his eyebrows in question and I sighed, thought he hadn’t heard me… damn it, since he and Jess were already standing a little off to the side, talking to the rest of the crew, I guess they indeed had already decided.

“Fine, I don’t… but I’m not really feeling like going either…” I added and Jimmy had a knowing smile on his face. I looked over to Matt and he sighed and added “But they want us too. It would be the first party where we are all going.. band, crew and look at Jimmy’s face…” Matt motioned over to the rest of our band, standing there together with Jess and the Berry brothers.

“I know… so we don’t have that much of a choice anyway, do we?” I asked and Matt gave me a small grin and Jimmy began to jump up and down excitedly not staying for the rest of my and Matt’s conversation “Not really, but we could leave… I bet they won’t realize it after a few drinks”I nodded “Sounds like a plan… by the way I have a riff you have to listen to later on, it sounds like we can work on it”
“Great, seems like loneliness is doing you some good lately” Matt grinned and showed me his dimples while he quickly got up before I could punch him.
“Ass”

When we were finally all showered, dressed up and ready to leave, we had two cab’s waiting for us to bring us to the address from the invitation.
“This better be a good party, with lots of chicks and alcohol” Matt Berry grinned, like he had been abstinent for a long time and I rolled my eyes.

“As if any chick would want you” His brother shot back and I tried to stifle my laugh.
“Fuck off” They shoved each other around until the cab driver threw them an angry look and they finally stilled.

When we arrived at the house I had to say it was quite nice, it was slowly getting colder but I still saw a few ladies in short dresses or skirts arriving which was a nice view and made me not hate the English weather that much.

Even though I planned on not letting any skirt come too close to me, I knew what that had done with the press and internet blogs lately, and I wouldn’t want that again to escalate, not when Larry just been happy about how Matt and I changed… and if Matt and I really wanted to go after the girls, when our tour was done in a couple of weeks, more bad press wouldn’t do us any good.

“Nice house…” Matt stood next to me and I nodded “Yeah, whose house is that?” I asked and Matt shrugged “No idea, maybe Danny? He sent the invitation, right?” Matt mused and I nodded, could be… what do I know, or care.

“Looks like this party will be huge, look at all the cars and people that just arrive.” Jimmy grabbed Jess in a tight hug and I chuckled, sure, that guy would get excited about everything and he had his girl with him, so why wouldn’t he be excited?!

Damn, a ping of jealousy was making its way to the surface… because I wanted what he had… I wanted to go back to what I had…
But I destroyed it… we destroyed it… She was probably still with someone else… Fuck this!
I wouldn’t be thinking about her tonight, this was about party and not the past!

“Let’s go” I announced and marched up towards the entrance, when I rang the doorbell some unfamiliar face opened up and let us in, not really caring who we were or who came in as it seemed.

So we went past him and into the huge foyer, here were lots of people and I saw a familiar face at least here and there, and as soon as my band mates and I entered we were divided, some went straight to the living room, some to the dance floor and a couple of them outside, and I was left alone. I shrugged and decided the bar would be my perfect area.

When I arrived and finally get my hands on a cup I helped myself to the bottle of whiskey and poured a good amount into my cup that I thought would last me a little while, then I made my way around the room, greeting someone here and there, not really knowing who they were, then I saw Danny who had a woman on his arm, he nodded his head and then yelled something, but I didn’t pay attention to that any further, he seemed to be drunk of his ass already and I shrugged nothing new there either.

I walked further and saw Matt heading to the bar area, while I checked the area outside, nice house, had to give him that… whoever owned it.

The music was suddenly turned up and most of the people went inside, I watched the women on the dance floor enjoying the view of them dancing, hey… I was still only a man… I sipped further on my drink and realized that I went through the amount I poured in rather fast, which sucked.

So I had to leave my watching spot near the dance floor and went back to the bar, I set my cup down and poured more whiskey, when my eyes wandered around the bar area a smile came over my face, I wasn’t alone and haven’t eve realized it yet.

On one of the bar stool sat a woman, long blonde hair was hanging down her back, I didn’t see her face, she had her back turned towards me… but what I saw from her behind was very appealing.
I know I said I didn’t want to get into a compromising situation again, but somehow this woman made me think about it again and it felt like some invisible force was pulling me towards her.

And before I even realized it I was standing next to her, I put my drink beside her and leaned a little towards her, I inhaled her scent and damn, she smelled good, something familiar even, but I couldn’t put my finger on it.

She hummed to the music and her humming voice sounded soothing and I felt the need to finally see her from the front, see her face… see the rest of her.
She didn’t seem to notice me standing so close to her, seemed deep in thoughts or maybe waiting for someone?
I had to do something… quickly I guess.

I took a step back again not to startle her too much and let my eyes move again up and down her body, her exposed legs, her curves in that form hugging dress, the long blonde hair, damn… I just couldn’t stop myself from saying:

“How can a beautiful woman like you sit here all alone?”

I smirked waiting for her to turn around and reply, but instead of doing exactly that, I saw her muscles stiffen and okay, sometimes my voice had that effect on women, but when she finally decided to turn my mouth fell open and my breathing hitched, as did my heart seem to stop for a moment, while I could only barely register how the two glasses she had been holding fell to the floor directly before my and her feet, the breaking glass making a loud cracking sound and the only word I could get out was in utter and complete shock -

“Ave?”

Maya’s POV

I was so glad for this distraction, for this surprise, because lately Ave and I had been talking about the future so much it was giving me a headache each time that topic came up again.
I know what we planned, and I still wanted it, but I was also torn.

Didn’t Ave realize that all these plans that we were talking about reminded me also of the time that I had still been together with Matt?

That it was hard for me to plan and to go on with it, when I felt so good right now… finally? After all this time I had finally felt good and now everything would be ripped from me again?

So I decided, that today, I would let all these thoughts go and just enjoy this evening, enjoy what Ave and I had accomplished and all the other thoughts would be for another time, but not tonight.
I was even happier when Ben stood beside me, and helped me forget about all my problems, I also haven’t talked to him about Ave and my current discussions but I wouldn’t do it right now… now was only time for party.

“Now tell me, love… was that a surprise or what?” Ben laid his arm around my waist and pulled me into the living room past all the people and I had to chuckle.
“That was most definitely a surprise, cause James made a valid reason why we had to pick you up here.” I smirked and Ben lifted an eyebrow at me questioningly.

“He said you would need longer cause the hair and all” I took a quick step away from him when his mouth hung open in fake shock.
“And you believed him? That’s bloody ridiculous, love… I don’t need that long… come on…” He grabbed me quickly around the waist and pulled me to him, and I melted to his body.

“Hmm..right…” I grinned when he began to growl and nip my neck playfully.
“Hey.. don’t do that, we are in the middle of your party” I said and he shook his head, his lips still attached to my throat, making my knees a little wobbly.

“Not my party… it’s yours actually… but since I own the house, I think I can do whatever I want… and do you know what I want, M?” Ben mumbled, his lips trailing up my throat and I shook my head lightly, knowing if he would do that any longer I wouldn’t stand a chance against him.
“I want you” Ben whispered in my ear and I closed my eyes, he really was making this hard on me.
“Later, babe.” I could finally gather some strength and push against his chest, so he backed off a little.

He reluctantly took a step back and adjusted his pants and I had to suppress a chuckle at his pained expression.
“Show me around a little… you made all this with James?” I asked looking at all the decoration, the food… the DJ set up.
“Yeah, the guys also helped… it was a band project if you want” Ben took my hand in his and interlaced our fingers and I smiled.

He showed me around, “How did you know all this? My favorite food and drinks… and even songs, what the hell, Ben?” I asked and my eyes lit up going from one room to the other.
“Let’s say we had a little help” He smirked and I pecked his lips, he was looking so adorable.
“Get off… Ave knew all this?” She was the only one he could have asked… not even Matt knew all this from me, perfect Maya… now you brought him back to the surface, when I was so good at forgetting him for now…

“She didn’t… Clueless just like you, hun” Ben winked and I frowned who else could have told him?
“No shit, you called Larry? He is the only one knowing all this about Ave and me.” I asked and Ben nodded finally.
“Yeah, we had to improvise with the most drinks, but with food, music and decorations he helped us” Ben grinned and I was stunned, he called Larry to get this information, for us… for me?

I took the last step separating us and pressed my lips to his in a hungry kiss, he pulled me against his hard chest and I had to moan when his tongue danced with mine, he tasted good… so damn good.

His hands grabbed my hips and we were lost in our kiss until someone bumped into us and Ben moved to the side to look at the intruder but then went back down to his task and kissed me again, with his hands only my hips he guided and pushed me against the next wall, his body caging mine in, giving us more privacy.

The front door was opened and closed in a regular basis more and more people were coming inside, I had no idea who Ben invited to this party, but I bet I didn’t know more than 10 guests.
But by the way we leaned against the wall and him hiding me with his body, I couldn’t make out any of the people that were walking past us, not that I could pay much attention anyway, his kisses grew more and more hungry and I knew soon I couldn’t form a coherent sentence anymore if we would keep this up.

So if I really wanted to have some more from my surprise party I had to pull away finally and that was just in time to hear a loud crashing sound from the bar area and I cringed inwardly “Oh shit… why did you give them glasses and not plastic cups?” I asked Ben who sighed.
“I did… only my friends are allowed to take the glasses… I bet that was Worsnop that asshole.” Ben grumbled and was about to turn into that direction but I held him back.

“Hey… let him deal with it… let’s dance… and then we get us a drink and have a look? How does that sound?” I asked and Ben looked into the direction of the bar area, then back at me and I winked, letting his hand go and began to walk backwards, and after a moment of uncertainty Ben followed me finally and I grinned, when he caught me around the waist again and pulled me into his embrace even before we arrived at the dance area.

I had so much fun dancing and this party was really amazing, I had to remember to thank the other guys for this as well, I wished it would never end, and I bet Ave was feeling exactly the same, she also hadn’t known what these guys had planned for us.
I thought we would be going out having dinner and that’s it, but this… wow this was so much better.

“Let’s get us some drinks” Ben’s lips met my ear while talking and I nodded “Drinking sounds good” I grinned and he pulled me along towards the bar, but we were stopped by Cam “Try these, they taste fucking brilliant. I think I should open a bar… I mean for real” He grinned and I took the drink from his hand and tried a sip and he was right, they did taste awesome.

I leaned over to him and pulled him into a hug “Thanks for this… and for the drink too, you are right, it does taste brilliant” He nodded and gave me a wink “Thanks and your welcome”

With that he vanished and Ben took his drink and nearly downed half of it “Way too sweet for me” He said frowning down into his glass and I rolled my eyes.

“Should we get some fresh air? I don’t think too many people found the way outside.” Ben asked and I nodded, he laid his arm around my shoulders and guided us out and I couldn’t get that smile of my face… life felt perfect right now.
