Past Life

The year is 2053. The location is Huntington Beach, California.
Matthew Sanders lay in bed with wires hooked up to his body and machines beeping. The machines monitored his heart rate, blood pressure, pulse, and more. An oxygen mask was around his mouth. His body limp with old age. His grandson, Jimmy, sat beside him naive enough to not know his grandfather was dying.
Matthew held a photo album in his hands. It contained memories from his past life; photos of his band, family, and mementos from his lifetime.
He slowly opened to the first page and Jimmy nuzzled closer to take a better look at the contents. Matthew removed his oxygen mask and began to narrate his life to his grandson while he still had the chance.
"I was a beautiful baby, but my life didn't truly begin until middle school," Matt began "when I met the man I named you after."
