Haunting My Heart

"This SUCKS!" Brian groaned, getting lazy nods from Zacky and Johnny. They were suppose to be practicing right now, but since their front man was held up at a mental health facility, they were stuck sitting around bored at Jimmy and Brian's place. "I still can't believe they sent him away." Zacky mumbled as he sat in his chair tossing a baseball in the air, and catching it. "Well what did he expect? All that talk about ghost and shit. It was bound to get him locked away in a padded room." Brian said. Matt's been gone for a couple of weeks, and from what they've heard from his parents, he's still insisting that the house was haunted, that he wasn't crazy. "I can't believe you're still so close minded." Johnny mumbled from his upside down position in the chair he was "sitting" in.

"No closed mindedness to it. They're not real, we have no singer, no band, and will probably have to get boring normal jobs now. All because of some chick that isn't real." Brian stated earning eye rolls from his two friends. "She is real. I've seen her picture." Jimmy's voice sounded behind him. "Where the hell have you been?" Brian questioned as he eyed the duffel bag his friend was holding. The phone rang about twenty minutes ago, and he's been gone ever since. "Getting ready." Jimmy said as if everyone knew why. "For what," Brian asked just as their was a knock on the door, "You know what? I don't think I want to know." he said, jumping up from his seat to open the door.

Brian opened the door, and a smirk came across his face when he laid eyes on the two girls behind it. "Hello pretty ladies. Mind if I take your picture to prove to my friends that angels do exist?" he asked with his smirk, leaning against the door frame. "Does that really work?" the redhead questioned with an eye roll before pushing past him. "Come on in." he replied sarcastically, his smirk now gone. The blonde gave him an apologetic look before following her friend inside. "So who are you, and what are you doing here?" he asked following them, noticing they too had duffel bags. "Guys, this is Tammy," Jimmy started introducing the redhead, "And this is Kim," he said, introducing the blond as he snaked his long arms across both girls shoulders, "They're friends of that girl you don't think is real." he finished, flashing Brian his own smirk.

Brian's eyes widened a little before they traveled back to Tammy, who was curiously staring at him with a cocked brow. "Meike is very much real," she said stepping away from Jimmy, and pulling something out of her back pocket, "She's just been missing for awhile." she said handing him a picture of their friend. Brian didn't miss the sadness that flashed in her hazel-green eyes as he took the picture from her, and looked at it. "I'm sorry." he genuinely said as he handed it back to her. She gave him a sad smile, and a small nod before turning away from him. Brian's eyes traveled to her ass. What? he was a seven-teen year old guy, and had one thing on the mind right now, and it wasn't ghost.

"Who are your friends Jimmy?" Kim finally spoke, still under Jimmy's arm. Tammy gave her a knowing smile when she noticed, and her friend blushed a little. She's been trying to convince this girl ghosts are real since they were old enough to talk. Leave her alone with blue eyes for five minutes, and all of a sudden she believes in fairies and aliens. "Oh right, well Casanova over there is Brian," he said getting a finger from his friend, "And that's short-shit, and Zacky." he grinned. "I'm not that short." Johnny whined a little. "Not that tall either." Zacky chuckled. "Fuck you guys." the smaller boy grumbled. "Awe, but you're adorable." Tammy tried to offer a consolation. "Yes I am." Johnny smiled smugly. "No you're not." Brian told him, but his smile never faltered. "Lady says I am, so your opinion doesn't matter." he said, and the girls giggled a little. "Whatever, so why are they here, and what's in the bags?" Brian asked turning his attention to Jimmy.

Jimmy grinned, and finally removed his arm off Kim, but kept her close by, "They're going to help us break out Matt, and prove he's not crazy." he said opening his bag, and pulling out a bunch of black clothes. "What?" he got from his three surprised friends. "And set Mei free." Tammy added, but didn't elaborate, grinning at the shock on the boys faces. They looked like they just said something insane or something. "Did get all the stuff we needed?" Jimmy asked the girls as if the guys weren't even there. It was like they had been planning this. Probably because they have been. Kim nodded and the girls opened their bags filled with cameras, tape recorders, candle, crosses, and all that other stuff they need to exorcise the house. The guys watched there friend and the girls clueless as to what the hell was going on in there crazy friends head. "Did you get that key card?" they heard him ask Tammy. "Yep." she said pulling it out of her back pocket, and handing it to him.

Brian cleared his throat loudly, and the three looked at the other three. "Mind telling us what the fuck is going on?" he asked a little irritated. "We're going to break Matt out, preform an exorcism, on the house, and set Meike free." Jimmy said slowly as if he should have understood that the first time. "Do have any idea how crazy that sounds?" Brian asked, "And just how do you plan on doing that?" he added. Its not like they have ever done anything like this before. "With this." Jimmy said, holding up the key card between two fingers. "Where the hell did you get this?" Brian continued with his questions snatching the key card from him. "I stole it." Tammy said simply like it was no big deal. "You what!?" the three clueless again chimed together. "Did you see Matt?" Jimmy asked the girls, again ignoring his friends. Kim nodded, "He'll be ready." she told him. "Hello?" again Brian interrupted the three. "What?" Jimmy asked his turn to be a little irritated, "How much clearer do we gotta be?"

Brian ran two frustrated hands down his face, "I'm sorry, but we," he started motioning at himself, Zacky, and Johnny, "Haven't been planning an escape like apparently you three have. You're going to have to elaborate if you want us to going along with whatever insane idea you have planned." he told him, Zack and Johnny nodding in agreement. "Fine, but can we do it on the road? We need to get going." Jimmy said, not waiting for a reply as he gathered up their things. "Um no," Brian said obviously, "You can explain now." Jimmy sighed, and was going to explain, but Tammy was a little quicker. "The man said we'd explain on the way," she said, grabbing her bag, "So lets fucking go." she pulled him along by the arm to the door.

Brian didn't really resist since he had an enjoyable view slightly behind her. "Come on." Jimmy said, returning his arm to its original position on Kim's shoulders, making her blush with a grin and a wink before they followed the other two. "What, we're really doing this?" Johnny spoke up as him and Zack quickly followed. "Guess we are." Zacky said when no on responded. "You do realize how crazy this all sounds?" Brian asked as the redhead drug him out to the black SUV waiting outside. "Not really when you think about it. Mei was haunted while she lived in that house. Now she's trapped, and talking to your friend Matt." Tammy said, opening the passenger door and shoving him inside. "And that doesn't sound crazy to you." he asked just before she shut the door in his face.

Brian watched the girl walk around the car, and open the driver door. "No, it doesn't." she said, shutting the door once she was inside. Kim and Jimmy climbed in the seats behind them, and Zacky and Johnny in the back. Tammy started the truck once everyone was in, and pulled out of the driveway. Good thing she was able to convince her brother to let her use it, or they would have had to taken two vehicles. She just has to do his laundry for the next month. "So start explaining." Brian said once they were on the road. The three clueless sat quietly, and listened to Jimmy explain how him and Matt ran into the girls at the library. When Matt was sent away, he called them since he knew one of them would be up for this. The cute little blond, though wasn't hard to convince to be open to the idea, and see what happens. Per Jimmy's request, the girls volunteered there for about a week before Tammy was able to get her hands on a key card.

Matt is in the minimum security section of the facility, and wouldn't be hard to get to. Since they had a key card now, they wouldn't have to go through the main entrance. They just had to cut through a fence. The sky turned to night by the time they got to the dark side road, that was preplanned to stop on. Tammy shut the SUV off, and everyone climbed out, following her to the back. She opened the hatch, and Jimmy grinned when she handed him some bolt cutters. That should get through the fence. Jimmy opened his bag, and started handing the guys dark clothes. "I can't believe we're really doing this." Johnny said with a shake of his head, but a smile on his face. He was surprisingly excited about it though as was Zack. Brian not so much. "We're going to get busted." he grumbled, but was still putting on the black clothes.

Tammy rolled her eyes a little, her and Kim bringing their own black long sleeved shirts. They were already wearing black pants. "Will you relax, and pull the stick out of your ass," she asked as she shut the back hatch, "Kimmie and I have had a week to case this place. The way we're going doesn't cross a single nurse station. Don't be a dumbass, and look up at the cameras, and we'll be fine." she said smirking when a few chuckles were heard. This guy may be cute, but he really needed to chill the fuck out. Brian narrowed his eyes on her as she walked past him towards the dark facility several yards away. He wouldn't admit it, but she had him completely intrigued, and was quick to follow. "I think my friend likes your friend," Jimmy whispered to Kim, slipping her hand in his, and lacing their fingers together, "And I think I might like hers." he added, grinning when she blushed again, and looked away shyly.

The group walked through the dark with only a couple of flash lights showing the way. Brian kept glancing at Tammy out of the corner of his eye, noticing a small smile on her face. "Would you like to take a picture when we're done." she asked her smile getting wider. "A picture? What?" Brian asked, caught a little off guard. "So, you have something to stare at," she explained looking over her shoulder, "This one's not very quick is he?" she asked Jimmy, earning some chuckles. "Not right now he's not." Jimmy poked fun at his friend. "Fuck you, I'm quick. I can be quick." Brian tried to defend himself, the laughs getting a little louder. "Well let me know when you come up with something." Tammy snickered as they came up to the fence.

Jimmy let go of Kim's hand, and was going to cut the fence, but Brian stepped up, taking the cutters from him. "I got this." he said kind of cocky, putting on his future signature smirk, and pushing Jimmy aside. Jimmy just shrugged his shoulders, more than willing to go right back to the stormy eyed blonde's side. Brian stretched his arms out, and moved his head side to side, popping his neck a little. Tammy rolled her eyes a little when he shot her wink before he started to cut the fence. "Do you always try this hard?" she asked with a half smile, crossing her arms. "Damn dude, she's eating you alive." Zacky chuckled. "Fuck yeah she is." Johnny agreed with a wide smile. "Nobody asked you, gnome boy." Brian said continuing to cut through the fence. "Yeah, don't even care." Johnny snickered. It was always fun to see Brian get messed with once in awhile.

Brian cut the last link needed for a big enough hole in the fence, and Zack helped him bend it back, so they could get through. "Alright, Zack and Johnny, you two stay here to hold the fence open when we come running back," Jimmy started to explain, getting nods from his friends, "We'll go in, and get Matt, and try to be back as soon as possible." he finished before him and Brian followed the girls through the hole. "Are you sure this is going to work?" Brian asked Jimmy with a little worry in his voice. He was pretty sure this was a crime on the federal level. "Don't worry man, the girls said it would be a piece of cake." he assured him. "Hope they're right." Brian mumbled just before they stopped at a door. "This is the door they let the minimum security patients in, and out of when they want to go outside," Kim started to explain to them as Jimmy pulled out the key card, "We go down the hall, and take a right. His room is the fifth one on the left." she finished, giving Jimmy a smile as put the key card at the top of the reader. "Ready?" he asked, swiping the card once he got nods from everyone.

The four let out a collective breath when the light turned green, and the door opened. Jimmy gripped Kim's hand, and pulled her close to his side as they tip-toed in the dark corridor, Brian and Tammy close behind. They walked as quickly as they could without making too much noise. The place was so quiet, you could hear a rat fart in the air duct. Keeping close to the wall, they were so close to the hall they needed to turn down, but a moving beam of light stopped them in their tracks. Jimmy poked his head around the corner, and quickly pulled it back. "Shit, there's a guard making rounds." he whispered. Fuck what were they going to do?

Brian couldn't stop the small smile that made it's way across his lips when he felt a warm hand slip into his. Tammy may have been all up for this, but that didn't mean thought of getting caught didn't make her nervous. "We need a place to hide. He's getting closer." Jimmy's hushed voice sounded nervous as well. Everyone's eyes scanned the dark, and Brian spotted a bathroom just a few feet away on the other side of the hall. "Over here." he whispered, pulling Tammy with him as they made their way to the door. Jimmy stayed behind Kim as they quickly followed, leading her with his hands on her hips, almost pushing her. They slipped inside, the light shinning down the hall just as the door closed behind them.

There were only two stalls in the bathroom, and without any real thought, the guys push the girls into each stall, and lifted them up onto the toilet. The adrenaline was flowing, and they were in protective mode now as they closed the stall doors, and climbed up onto the toilets, holding the girls close to them. Again they were collectively holding their breaths as they listened to the footsteps of the guard get closer and closer to the bathroom door. The girls squeezed their eyes shut, feeling arms get tighter around them as the door opened, and the beam of light scanned the room.

Matt paced his room in front of his door. He stopped once Mei came right through the door with a worried look on her face. She's been here with him almost the entire time. For some reason the night they shared together attached her to him, and she was able to leave the house, but only where he was. It took a lot of energy, but she's been getting so strong the closer they get. "What's going on?" he asked. "They're held up in a bathroom right now." she told him. Matt plopped down on his bed, and buried his face in his hands. They were going to get caught. He was sure of it. Mei looked at him sadly, knowing what was running though his mind. She sat down next to him, wishing she could hold him. Even though she was "here", she wasn't, and they couldn't touch each other. Only in his dreams.

Matt lifted his head when he felt Mei's presence by him, and met her sad sympathetic eyes. He almost reached out to hold her, just needing her in his arms, but he couldn't, and it only made him sadder, and a little angry. He was going to be stuck here forever. He would never admit she wasn't real. Both heads snapped to the door when a quiet knock on the door was heard. Smiles came out on there faces when Jimmy's wild grin smashed up against the small window on the door. Matt jumped up, and ran to the door, a thousand emotions running through him. He was going to get out of here. They were going to save Mei. He could finally have her, really have her, hold her, kiss her. God he could kiss Jimmy right now.

"I'm going to open the door." Jimmy mouthed just before swiping the card, but the door didn't open. A frown crossed his face, and he swiped the card again, getting another red light. "What the fuck. It's not working." he said, swiping again with the same results. Mei moved through the door, and watched him start running the card repeatedly. This key must not have clearance to open patients doors. She thought for a moment. She could do pretty much anything a ghost could do. Maybe she could manipulate electronics too. "Tell him to stop." she said to Matt, him hearing her plain as day. "Stop, Jimmy." he told him through the door. Jimmy looked at him with a frown, but stopped anyway.

Mei put her hand through the card reader, and used her energy to short circuit the lock. Everyone's eyes went wide when the light turned green on its own, and Matt pushed the door open. Mei let out an excited squeal only Matt could hear, and he chuckled. "Is she here?" Tammy asked. It was the only explanation as to why that door opened on its own. Matt nodded, and saw smiles come out on both girls faces, as sad one on Mei's as she looked at her two friends left without her. Kim's smile faltered a little when of course the worst thought popped in her head. "Is she..." she couldn't even ask, but she didn't have to. "No," Matt said shaking his head, "Just trapped." he said, cocking a brow when Jimmy wrapped an arm around the blonde. "Don't worry, love we'll get her back." he promised bring a smile back out on her pretty little face. "How about we get out of here first." Brian suggested, getting back to the task at hand.

The "five" made their way back the way they came, and were close to the door, when one at the end of the hall open. "Hey!" a voice yelled, as foot steps came running. The kids took off the rest of the way to the door, desperate not to get caught, not that Mei would let them. If she could open that door it left her wondering what else she could do. Unknown to the guard running down the hall, she stepped in front of him, and let out a power burst of energy, sending the man fly back through the door he came. Mei let out an excited laugh, her smile wider than it's ever been, and slammed the door shut with a motion of her hand. She turned around, and caught Matt's smiling face at the opened at the door. "See you soon." she said just before disappearing before his eyes.
