Chapter One

"What're you doing, Zee?" I asked my boyfriend while walking into the living room to see the green-eyed man hovering over our three month old daughter in a push-up position while Eliana laid on her playmat. Her matching green eyes looked up at her father in wonderment, one of her teething rings in her mouth as she chewed on it.

"Just working out, babe," Zacky simply told me before lowering down, placing a kiss to our little girl's forehead before raising back up, a smile on his face. "Thirty, Ellie-Bug."

I smiled at the two of them. "That's so cute, Zachary."

"I know," the guitarist sat up on his hunches while picking up our little angel, keeping her leveled with his face, kissing each of her chubby cheeks. "But daddy couldn't help it. Such a cute workout partner my little Eliana Raye is."

"And what about me, daddy?" I giggled while crossing my arms over my chest, a playful smirk on my face.

"You're my sexy workout partner, Braska." Zacky told me while carefully standing to his feet, placing Eliana on his hip before walking over to me with a matching smirk on his face. He leaned over so his lips were at my ear the moment he stood in front of me. "And maybe later mommy can help daddy workout in a much different way."

"Hm, I'll think about it," I said while pulling my bottom lip between my teeth, running my index finger down Zacky's chest to his stomach, only to stop at the hem of his basketball shorts. A smile replaced my smirk as I took Eliana from her father, kissing one of her chubby little cheeks before placing my infant on my very own hip. "But for now mommy needs to feet this little cutie." I kissed Zacky's cheek before turning around to head back into the kitchen with Eliana, only to yelp when a hard squeeze went to my backside. I turned around slightly to see Zacky standing there with a cheeky grin on his face. My eyes instantly narrowed in his directioned as I pointed a finger towards him. "Watch it, Baker. Don't make me hurt you in front of your daughter."

"My hand slipped, baby, honest." Zacky told me and I raised an eyebrow at him, only to cause my boyfriend to scoff and raise his hands up in defeat while he began walking away, heading down the hallway to the shower no doubt. "Alright, alright, you win."

I rolled my eyes as I fully entered the kitchen and placed Eliana inside her highchair, before walking over to the cabinets to get some of her baby food and walk back over to my gurgling daughter, giggling as I took a seat in front of her. As I began feeding her I could hear the shower going on and I smiled. "Your daddy is so odd, isn't he?" I questioned my daughter as she took yet another bite of the orange goo they called baby food into her mouth. She looked at me while smacking her cute little lips a bit. "Your silence says it all, baby. Daddy is an oddball. But we love him either way, right?" And once again the silence came from her as she looked at me with her green eyes, I smiled some while leaning over to kiss her forehead. "Right."

As I fed my little girl I couldn't help but feel like I had everything in my life; a wonderful boyfriend, a beautiful little girl that stole both of ours and her uncles' hearts, wonderful family members, a nice job, and great friends. This was my life and I was happy about it. Happy how everything turned out for me. I wasn't going to let any of this slip from my hands. Ever.

And it hard to believe a mindset can change in the span of three years.

My so-called happy life ended before I knew it. Everything was going great; the boys were being boys, me and the girls were being our usual selves and Eliana was being the cutie she was. But everything changed when we lost Jimmy. It was a blow to the gut for all of us.

Because they were trying to get the album down, seeing how Nightmare was going to be the first album they ever did without Jimmy, he and the guys were in the studio each and every day. They'd all leave early in the mornings and didn't come home until very late at night. At first I was alright with everything, knowing they wanted this perfect, and knowing it was the only thing that kept their minds off of James. But I guess being the only ones with a child made everything harder, and that what caused me to be no longer alright with the overnight stays at the studio or the leaving early in the mornings.

I was left alone with Eliana from morning to night, not that I didn't mind it because I loved my daughter with everything I had, it just was hard when she cried wanting the attention of her daddy. That was the first time in the months she was born did I ever regret allowing Zacky to turn her into a full on daddy's girl. And because of the stress of my job, hardly seeing my own damn boyfriend and knowing our daughter wasn't getting the attention she wanted from her father, fights between me and Zack started.

In the years Zacky and I were together we've never fought so much. Little arguments here and there, but nothing too bad. But after months on end of arguming about this, going from our usually happy couple to this couple who was just together for our daughter, we broke things off. Zacky appeared devestated the day I told him I wanted to go our seperate ways, but I knew it was for the best.

So the days leading up to us breaking up, I found an apartment big enough for me and Eliana to live in. And because I wasn't too much of a heartless person, because I still very much cared about Zack, we agreed to have joint custody of Ellie. I'd get her a full week, and then he'd have her a full week, and we'll both have holidays because with our friends of Sevenfold we'll never be fully apart from one another. Holiday parties and cookouts were religious with all of us.

And as we speak at the moment I am getting my now three-year-old daughter ready to stay with her daddy for the week, while also getting ready for work my ownself. I'm not sure whom it was to have this idiotic bright idea. Probably managment, but it was a load of complete and utter shit. I was dressed in my uniform, my slight makeup on while I sat on my daughter's bed with her, placing her dirty blonde hair into a bun as she requested, wrapping a ribbon around it afterwards. I handed her a mirror so she could see it, and the smile on her face caused my heart to flutter. Eliana was perfection to both me and her father. Call us both bias but we didn't care. This tiny creature was our whole entire world.

"Do you think daddy will like my hair, mommy?" Eliana asked me while turning to look at me, her cute little speech jumbling up her words a bit, and I could only smile and nod my head.

"Of course, baby girl," I said while gently cupping her chubby cheeks, kissing her forehead some before pulling back to look in her eyes. "Daddy'll think your hair is super, super pretty. Just like his Ellie-Bug."

Eliana giggled. "I'm not a bug, mommy. I'm a baby."

"I know you're a baby, Ellie," I picked my daughter up as I made my way off of her bed to stand on my feet, resting her on my hip. I rubbed my nose with her little one, causing her to giggle and hug me around my neck. "But you're daddy's Ellie-Bug."

Eliana continued to giggle on my shoulder as we heard the doorbell ring downstairs. I smiled and kissed the side of her head. "Let's go see daddy, baby."

With my toddler on my hip I made our way out of the bedroom and down the stairs to the front door, opening it slowly to reveal Zachary James Baker standing before us. He had removed his nose and snakebites when Eliana reached the age she could grab onto them, and he didn't put them back in before the holes closed up. He wasn't at all big, but he was abit more fluffier than he was when we were dating. It fit him very well, if I must say and his arms were a bit more muscular than before as well. His tattoos were the same as before, with his Forever tattoo on his neck in honor of Jimmy. But even if a few things were different on him, he was the same Zacky from before.

"Hey, Braska," Zacky greeted me with a smile on his face before his attention turned to our daughter, his smile grew even wider as he reached for her, and held her up in the air. "And hello to you, too, my little princess."

"Hi, daddy," Eliana greeted her father with a giggle, kissing his nose before he brought her down to rest upon his hip. She pointed a little finger towards the bun on top of her head. "Mommy made my hair all pretty daddy. Do you like it?"

Zacky smiled and nodded his head. "Of course, Ellie-Bug! Daddy thinks mommy made you even more beautiful than you already were." He turned his attention to me, a playful glint in his green eyes. "How am I going to keep the little boys at pre-school away from her if you insist on making her beautiful, mommy?"

I laughed while leaning over to get Eliana's bag. Most of her other clothes were already at Zacky's house. "I'm not so sure I know what you're talking about, daddy," I remarked while handing him her bag, watching him place the straps over his shoulder. I leaned over and rubbed my nose with Eliana's once more, causing her to hide her face into her father's shoulder. "Mommy doesn't need to make her beautiful. She's just naturally is, silly."

"I know," Zacky chuckled before looking at me fully, probably noticing I was in my out clothes. "You have to go into work today?"

"Yeah," I sighed while leaning back up, leaning against one of the frams of the front door. "Something about management thought it was better if we worked this Sunday."

"Well that sucks major as-butt," Zacky said while stopping himself from saying ass, seeing how my eyebrow rose quickly and darted my gaze to Eliana before looking back at him. The last thing we needed was Ellie to repeat some of the words me, her father or uncles say. He adjusted Eliana on his hip, still looking at me. "Are you coming over to Matt's after work then? He's having a cookout."

I smiled and nodded, my smile turning into a smirk. "Wouldn't miss it for the world, Zee. You know I can't help but show both you and Matt I'm a better griller than the both of you."

Zacky rolled his eyes. "Yeah, sure, whatever," we both shared a short laugh before Zacky looked up at me. "You won't mind that Meaghan'll be there, too, will you?"

Meaghan was Zacky's new girlfriend, and has been for two years now. I don't know why he continues asking me if I'm alright with being around her when he knows the answer is yes. I don't have a problem with her, and she seems to not have a problem with me, so we both were good. And plus she was good around Eliana, that made me like her even more. Now most would think I should hate her because she is dating my ex-boyfriend, but I could hardly care. Long as she is good to both Zacky and Eliana I'm alright with it all.

"Yes, Zachary, I'm find with her being there," I told him with an eyeroll. "I've told you times before I don't have a problem with her. Long as you're happy I'm happy, and plus long as she continues to treat Ellie right then me and her on good terms."

"I'm just making sure, Braska," Zacky told me sheepishly before clearing his throat, smiling some. "Well, I guess me and Ellie-Bug is off now. Hope your day at work goes good, Braska."

"Thanks, Zee," I said while waving at my little girl. "Bye, baby. Mommy'll see you tonight, okay?"

"Okay," Ellie said while still resting her head on her father's shoulder, one of her little hands holding onto his black t-shirt.

I watched the both of them walk off to Zacky's car before I walked back into the house to continued getting ready for work, leaning against the front door once I closed it hearing Zacky drive out of my driveway. I sighed and looked around my now empty apartment, a frown on my face while making my way into the kitchen. At times like this I really wish things hadn't had happened between the two of us and that we were still together, but good things always have a way of ending sadly and we were just the few people that had to end.

But maybe a day at work with my co-workers and a good cookout at the Sanders' household will make everything feel better. Well, one could only hope.
