Do Your Worst
Ch. 3
Elena’s P.O.V
Erin pushed past me with like four different bags full of Chinese food… the whole Chinese dinner thing was just a tradition for me and Erin along with Joyce and Hannah. The girls have grown so attached to one another I don’t think Erin could stand living even a block away from Hannah.
“Honey did you need to get so much food?” I asked looking through the bags placing things on the table. Erin moved them around because she was a little OCD about the dinner table.
“You know that Hannah and I are going to eat all of this mom…. And besides you and Joyce owe us since we moved yet again!” Erin said lifting her voice at the end and raised her eyebrows.
“Erin you cannot hold this above my head forever… now you listen to me and you grow up and get used to this place. I told you that we would be here longer than all the other places” I said and she just started moving her mouth up and down mocking me… that girl was hard to control… her father would have been the one to control her.
“You always try my patience Erin… just finish setting up the damn table while I go make a couple more phone calls” I said patting her shoulder and she shoved it off.
“Working already… great start to the new place” She said before running outside to get some air and probably wait for Hannah. I saw Joyce come past her and she walked to me.
“You know she will come around Elena… she is just a stubborn like her father… I swear she ends up more and more like him every single day” Joyce stated grabbing a bottle of wine and pouring some for the two of us.
“That’s what I am worried about, we did what we had to do long ago but I don’t need Erin crossing that same path and I know you are the same way about Hannah… have you thought about whether or not they are old enough yet?” I asked her and she took a huge drink of her wine.
“Elena we are doing our best with them right now, and in light of recent events and the toll that it took on… the team… we have to stay here and try to be different, we need them to stay safe.. so no I don’t think they are ready to know” Joyce said and Hannah came stumbling into the kitchen with a huge smile on her face as her eyes were glued to the screen of her phone.
“You ready for some food hun?” I asked her and she didn’t respond and Joyce just waved it off
and sat down and I went over trying to hand Hannah her plate and she just sat there again.
“HANNAH PHONE DOWN OR ITS MINE!” Joyce called out and Hannah snapped her head up taking her headphones out and apparently Erin heard because she came flying down the stairs and past me and straight to Hannah. I rolled my eyes and sat down letting them have their girl time apparently..
Erin’s P.O.V
Hannah was shoving some rice in her face as she continued to text laughing at random things.
“Come on Hannah tell me who you are texting!!!” I whined moving around trying to see the name as I was shoving an egg roll in my mouth, I moved swiftly but Hannah was always fast and she hid it shyly.
“Stop E! I’m trying to eat!!” She said and I just sat back and gave her my pouty face.
“But I wanna know who is making you blush!!! I think you met someone already!!!” I said to her and she just sat back and our moms were just staring at us.
“Like you totally haven’t been doing the same thing over there… you have that look on your face” She said and I just sat back and we gave each other a stare and kept going.
“Wait!? Is this about boys?! You know how we feel about you two dating! You two are way too young to be going around chatting up random strangers” My mom said and after a second all four of us just started laughing, we finished the Chinese food after and I was plotting out getting Hannah to tell me who it was that she was texting. As my mom was doing the dishes Hannah and I took a walk outside and down to the park that was by the beach.
“So tell me who it is, I really wanna know now that we are away from our moms” I said to her and she smiled and moved some hair out of her face stopping in her tracks.
“Just a guy that I met earlier, he was pretty cool… and pretty hot” She said and I squealed loudly and she just laughed.
“Soooo who was it that had you all glued to your phone??” She asked and I just smiled and I knew that I was blushing because it felt like my cheeks were on fire.
“Well see there was this guy that I ran into… when I was out getting the Chinese food and well I was using the song mixer on my phone to do my latest work and.. I kinda ran into him and his friend, I only gave him my name but the funniest thing was that he still somehow found my number in such a short amount of time” I said smiling and she nudged me in the arm because tripping and us not watching was a habit of ours.
“Oh E how we both fail to watch what we were doing, I actually met this guy out of chance as well… really wasn’t paying attention to what I was doing either” She said and her phone jingled and I ran over to sit on a swing as she texted the guy back.
“Ah gosh I hope the music scene is good here” I said loudly leaning my head back and letting my hair fall behind me as I swung back and forth.
“Well the guy Matt that I met earlier actually has a band!! I heard that they were going to be doing a set in a couple of days and that him and his friends could get us in” Hannah said.
“What kind of band??” I asked her knowing that she would really only be that interested if it was more on the rock side.
“They are a metal band I guess, I think it is worth going… hopefully… cause you know how our moms can be!” She said and I threw my hands up jumping off the swing and my phone vibrated in my pocket. I pulled it out and smiled.
Hope you’re not bumping into any other guys ;) –Brian I laughed loudly as I read the text and quickly let my fingers do the talking.
Well seeing as how it’s dead around the park.. the odds are unlikely lol –Erin
WAIT!! Are you at the central one? –Brian Hmmmm that’s interesting.
“What’s the face for???” Hannah asked and I gave her the give me a sec finger.
That’s creepy… how did you know that? You stalking me? Lol –Erin
No… but I am hiding in the park with a friend, seeing as how we met not too far from the park the odds were high of us being in the same one –Brian
You’re a smartass –Erin I replied and turned to Hannah.
“So spill the beans dear!” She said and I just laughed putting my arm with hers and we took another stroll deeper into the park. We loved walking in the dark even though it was rather creepy at night and the slightest things were making us jump. We took some wrong turn cause for sure neither of us knew where we were.
“I swear to shit this park is too big” Hannah stated and groaned because her phone was dying. We heard some leaves rustling and I pulled her walking forward… I swear these wooded areas are going to be the death of me.
“E I totally don’t like this, we should try going back” She said and I was about to agree with her but as we walked right past a light pole to men jumped out yelling at the top of their lungs and Hannah and I jumped at one another screaming and deafening each other.
“Whoa whoa whoa we’re sorry please stop!!!” I heard a low voice call out and one familiar laugh and I turned and there was Brian and Hannah seemed shocked.
“Matt?!” She said almost with a questioning tone… the shock was strong.
“Wait?! You two know each other?” I asked and Hannah seemed confused.
“Who is this?” She asked.
“This is Brian, ya know the guy I met earlier” I said to her and we just sat there in silence for a moment.
“Well this is fun!” Brian said… dear god what had the two of us gotten into.

Erin’s P.O.V
