Conflate
Chapter 1
She ran about her backyard carelessly as her Australian Cattle Dog, Jack, watched from afar; his damp fur dancing in the wind.
"Elliot! Get inside now! It is midnight and you have school tomorrow!" Her mother, Christina Dire called from the large white house her family lived in. "Jacky, come on." El motioned the dog upwards and ran for the small porch connected to the house.
Christina closed the door immediately after Elliot and the canine had walked in, dripping wet. "Why would you go out in a thunderstorm in the middle of the night Elliot? You know that's dangerous!" Christina scolded, wiping the medium sized dog down with a fluffy blue towel.
"Because it's fun." El laughed, and with that she headed for the bathroom, stripped down, then turned the shiny knobs of the shower and warmed her chilled skin.
After her quick shower, she sprinted upstairs and changed into a large hoodie and sweatpants, then daydreamed under the blankets until she finally fell asleep.
This is Elliot Dire, also known simply as El most of the time. She lives with her parents, Christina and Lance Dire, her sister Kay, and along side is her trusty pooch, Jack. Elliot is a die-hard metal fan and videogame expert. But there was a particular band that sparked her interest like no other, Avenged Sevenfold.
"Elliot, get your ass up." Kay comanded while shaking the once sleeping body before her. She sat up, and rubbed her eyes with her fists. Kay just let out a chuckle and swiped her brown hair behind her ear and walked out. With that, Elliot was once again alone in her room.
She got up from her bed and changed into a simple pair of skinny jeans, with a blue hoodie and converse sneakers. El stood before her mirrior and tamed her unusually messy, wavy red hair and strided down the stairs to the kitchen.
"Last day till Easter break, eh?" Elliots father commented, munching on his last bite of egg. "Yup." She sighed in responce while quickly nibbling on a slice of toast plentifully planted with jam. To be honest, she kind of liked school, even though she didn't have many friends doesn't mean she couldn't have fun where many people call hell.
"Miss Elliot! I have arrived!" She heard a male voice call from the door. "Daniel!" El cheered, running into his arms, "I haven't seen you since fuckin' Valentines." She pouted.
"Vacations a bitch!" Dan showed a teethy smile. Dan had been Elliot's best friend since the 8th grade. Ever since he moved next door, they were inseparable.
"School is in about 15 minutes, you know." Mrs. Dire huffed, leaning onto the edge of the marble counter. "Oh, fuck." El muttered, and shoved the last bite of toast into Dan's mouth then grabbed her good old messenger bag.
"Let's move!" Daniel yelled, running out the door with Elliot trailing behind him. And with that, began the mighty to school before the bell.
