Sshh, Be Quiet

Night One

Everyone in the house was sound asleep for a good few hours. Lisa had woken up though for no apparent reason. She turned to see the clock. Two-thirty in the morning. Sighing, she sat up in bed and looked around the darkened room. Without her glasses though, she couldn’t see much. She turned to grab her glasses off the nightstand that lay between the two beds. Brian was sound asleep on the other bed, snoring softly. From what she could tell, he was facing her. Lisa watched him sleep for a bit. A man looking so intimidating while awake looked so innocent when he slept. She blew a soft chuckle through her nose before getting out of bed.

She walked into the bathroom, did her business, then started running water in the sink. The water came out a bit discolored for a moment before running clear. She took a handful of water and splashed it on her face. Then she looked in the mirror, back into the room through the slight crack in the doorway. Lisa turned quickly, swearing she saw movement in the room.

“Syn-err...Brian?” she whispered out.

No answer. She opened the door quietly and peeked into the bedroom, illuminating it slightly with the bathroom light. Brian remained sound asleep. Sighing again, Lisa shook her head, and turned out the light, feeling her way around the room. She stopped to look out the window. A single board was ripped from one of the windows, so she looked outside. A full moon lit up the sky, shining onto the sea of grass in the front lawn. After a few moments, Lisa went back and laid down in bed. She was nearly asleep when an out of place noise was heard inside the room. Sitting up and looking around, she saw nothing and couldn't figure out what she had heard. She thought about waking Brian up, but didn’t know if he would be crabby. She hated waking people up for that very reason.

As Lisa laid back down and began to doze again, another noise was heard. It sounded like a thud that came from the closet. Lisa got out of bed and went for the closet, opening the door and looking in. She couldn’t see much, so she turned on he light, which surprisingly worked. Nothing besides t-shirts that they had both hung up earlier in the evening. Her eyes darted around, looking for something odd in the closet. Normal. Nothing was out of the ordinary.

“Lisa?” a sleepy voice asked behind her.

Lisa turned and saw Brian sitting up in his bed, looking at her. His hair was tousled from sleep as he wore a look that was mixed with being bothered by the light and being confused.

“I heard something, did you?” Lisa asked him.

“No.”

“Hmm, I swear there was a thud from inside here.”

“Well, you didn't see anything in there right?”

“Right.”

“Then go back to bed, okay?” The tone in his voice was reassuring and soothing.

The soothing tone had helped her calm down a little bit. After turning out the light, she felt her way back to her bed, climbing in, rolling onto her side to face the wall. She still felt uneasy as she her attempt to fall back to sleep was failing.

“Trust me, there’s nothing there,” Brian said behind her.

Lisa just nodded her head and tried to fall back to sleep. She managed to eventually, after she grabbed her iPod, and turned on some music.

In the morning, everyone was up at nearly the same time. All ten were in the kitchen, talking about breakfast. Korynn and Lisa made a big breakfast of the works after digging through the refrigerator. Stephanie had made coffee while grabbing a glass of orange juice for herself since she didn't drink the caffeinated beverage.

“Okay, so what are we going to do for fun today?” Jenna asked through a mouthful of food.

“No idea. We could explore some, but other than that, we came prepared with video games, movies, cards, the works,” Johnny said with a smirk. “I don't know which one of these fags brought board games though, like we're all ten or something.

“Hey! Board games are classic,” Jimmy said, reaching across and smacking his friend upside the head.

“So, cards you mentioned? Strip poker!” Zack shouted.

“Strip poker?” Emily asked, arching an eyebrow before looking at the other four women. “Why do guys like that so much?”

“Because of these,” Lisa said, motioning towards her breasts. “Oh, yes, and mine are all real,” she said.

As soon as the group laughed and a few cat-calls filled the air, Lisa turned red and hid her face upon realizing what she had said. She usually had no problem saying vulgar things, but being in front of people she didn't know that well, along with five very attractive men from her favorite band, she instantly became embarrassed.

“Way to go, Lisa,” Steph said, nudging her best friend.

“Yeah, I should mention that I speak before I think,” Lisa said, trying to laugh it off.

“Well, I think we all just learned that,” Zacky said, wiggling his eyebrows.

“Oh, stop thinking about my boobs,” Lisa said, flipping him off. “At least you guys didn’t hear the weird noises last night.”

A collective ‘huh?’ raised from the group and they all looked at her, and Brian, who shrugged to signal he knew nothing. “She was up last night, saying she heard something,” Brian said.

“I did, I swear,” Lisa said. “But since no one else did, I guess I should just shrug it off, right?”

“Lisa, just get off the drugs, and you’ll be fine,” Steph said. “You see guys? My best buddy here...on occasion...” she paused, pressing her thumb and index finger together and bringing it to her lips, getting a laugh from everybody.

“Steph!? Don’t say that…you’ll give me away,” Lisa said, stifling a giggle.

“Alrighty, Brian? You did a good job picking winners,” Jimmy said. “You picked some real winners, and I mean that in terms of special winners.”

“Fuck your face,” Brian said, throwing a piece of toast at him.

“Okay!” Korynn stood up. “Before a food fight starts, and we’re stuck cleaning it up, breakfast is over.”

The girls cleaned up the kitchen while the guys went and watched TV or showered. Once everyone was showered and dressed, they hung out in the living room with the TV on. It wasn’t long before boredom set in for all of them.

“We should seriously play strip poker,” Johnny said.

“Pervs,” Lisa said, rolling her eyes as she tried to stifle a giggle.

“Well, I wanna play,” Matt said. “Join us girls. It’ll be more fun.”

“Yeah, Please?” Brian begged.

All five of them were wearing puppy dog looks. One by one, the girls agreed to play, wondering if they would regret getting into this.
