Change My Ways

Elody's POV

Two words: Fuck Me. I cannot believe that asshole, and his friends are here, at the same bar as me, at two o'clock in the fucking afternoon. Who drinks at this time of day?! Not that I have any room to talk, but I'm here to vent to my friend, as well. Not that it looks like I'll be doing that any time soon, she's too busy talking to asshole, at the bar. This is just fucking great. Could it get any worse?!

I spoke too soon. Juliet is walking toward me, now, asshole in tow. What ever will I do? I have to find somewhere to escape. I look around, trying to find a way, any way, to avoid talking to him again, and further embarrassing myself.

"Hey, El." I hear Juliet approach. Too late to escape now. I turn around to face them. He's smiling smugly at me. I'm trying as hard as I can not to slap him right upside the head. I move over in the booth, so Juliet can sit next to me. She urges asshole to sit across from us, and he couldn't be happier to oblige. This whole scene is enough to make me want to get sick. "Elody, Brian. Brian, Elody." Juliet introduces us, and I force a smile at him. Out of the corner of my eye, I see his groupies approaching us.

"Brian," One of the guys starts, as they all come closer. "You didn't tell us you were going to be making new friends, instead of hanging out with the ones you came here with."

"Guys, this is Juliet, and her friend Elody." Brian introduces us to his friends. "Juliet, Elody, these are my friends, Jimmy, Johnny, Matt, and Zacky."

"It's so nice to meet you!" Juliet says, a little too eagerly. She's probably picturing them all naked in her head. I gag a little, not at the thought of them, but at the thought of what Juliet is probably doing to them in her head. Juliet looks at me concerned. I can't tell if the concern is from me gagging, or not saying I was glad to meet them. Either way, I have to get out of here, now.

"I think I'm going to be sick." I say, and Juliet practically leaps out of the booth. I follow suit, and run to the bathroom, as quickly as I can, with heels on.

I stay in the bathroom for what seems like ages, until the bartender comes in. She looks at me awkwardly, and goes into one of the stalls. When she comes out, and realizes I'm still standing there, she looks concerned.

"Are you alright?" She asks.

"Uhh... yeah. Of course. I just needed a moment to myself, is all. Thanks." I say.

"You know, I always realized that those guys have many effects on woman, but I never knew driving them to sickness was one of them." She laughs, and I can't help but laugh a little, too. "I'm Ashley." She smiles.

"I'm Elody. And I better get my ass back out there, before Juliet thinks I ditched her by climbing out the window. Thanks for the laugh, Ashley." I leave the restroom, and head back to the booth. I realize that the rest of Brian's gang, has pushed a table up to the booth, and they're now all sitting around it, laughing at whatever Jimmy is saying. I worry that Brian, or one of the other guys, may have told Juliet about me and my boss, while I've been gone. I decide not to stick around, and find out.

"Juliet." I say, as I approach the table. Everyone looks up at me. "I just got a call from work. I have to go. Will you be okay without me?"

"Why wouldn't I be?" She winks at me.

"Just be careful, okay." I tell her, and walk away. As I walk outside, I feel someone following me, so I turn around. "You really are stalking me, aren't you?" I turn around, and keep walking.

"Wait." Brian says, catching up to me. "I just wanted to make sure you were okay. I'm sure you came here for some reason, probably to get a drink, just as I did, but I didn't see you have one drink while you were here." I stop walking, and look at him.

"In case you were wondering, that's my best friend in there, and I don't appreciate what you're doing."

"What are you talking about?"

"I know what you're trying to do. Guys like you only have one thing on their mind."

"What? Guys like me, huh? 'Cause you know me so well."

"I know that you're trying to get in my friend's pants, and that you're, meanwhile, in some sick and twisted way, trying to make me jealous, or mad, or anything to get a rise out of me." He lets his head fall back in laughter.

"You've got to be joking me. Well, you know, girls like you always think they're better than everyone else. I think I'll go back inside now, and join your friend for another round of drinks. At least, she isn't a total bitch." I reach out, and slap him, for the second time today. I turn around and walk away. I can't believe how shitty this day is. Forget the drink, I think I need something stronger.

Brian's POV

Wow. Second time today, I've been slapped in the face by that bitch. I'm tired of this. She gets pissed at me for judging her earlier, and then she turns around and does the same to me. She thinks all I'm trying to do, is get into her friend's pants. Well, maybe I should do just that. I head back into the bar.

"Hey, guys, I think I'm going to go for a walk, I need some air, and I might check out another bar, or something." I say, approaching the table.

"I would've thought you'd already taken a walk when you were just outside, you didn't have to come back in just to tell us." Matt says.

"I didn't. I thought I'd come back in, and ask if Juliet would like to come with me. After all, I met her first, and it would be rude of me to just leave her, without so much as a goodbye."

"I'd love to go with you." Juliet hops up, smiling.

"Great." I say, smiling. "I'll see you guys later." I walk out of the bar, with Juliet on my arm. this is going to be fun.
