(Emma POV)
“Hey Emma,” Jessi began as she scrolled through something on her phone. I looked away from my laptop and looked at her. He lazily gazed at me and smirked. “You wanna meet my secret friends?”
“It’s been two fucking weeks; yes I want to meet your secret friends!” I retorted, sitting up. She smiled and sat up.
“Better get ready then. You might want to make a good impression on them.” Jessi commented as she walked to the bedroom. I followed her and went to the closet which held my clothes. I pulled out my favorite black ripped skinny jeans, a white v-neck, my zip-up Avenged Sevenfold hoodie, and my white converse. I began changing and glanced at Jessi to notice she was already dressed. She was wearing her acid-wash grey skinny jeans, a black v-neck, black converse, and her Avenged Sevenfold hoodie.
“Are they going to be creeped out that we’re wearing pretty much the same thing?” I asked absentmindedly, tying up my converse. She shook her head.
“They’ll probably think it’s adorable.” She said, smiling to herself. I raised my eyebrow. She noticed and smirked. “They’re all guys.”
“Sounds fun. Are they hot?” I questioned. She rolled her eyes and motioned for me to follow her. I grabbed my phone and wallet as she grabbed her keys, and we left. We walked down the stairs and to her car in silence. As we jumped in I stared at her. She gave me a confused look and I scoffed. “You didn’t answer my question.”
“Yes, Emma. They are really hot.” She answered, rolling her eyes. I narrowed my eyes at her and glared. She raised an eyebrow at me and I continued to glare.
“You’ve been keeping hot guys from me?” I snapped. She chuckled and shook her head in entertainment. She sighed and continued to stare forward; driving into some neighborhood I’ve never been in. I huffed and turned forward. “What a great friend you are.”
“Hey, if you found these guys first you wouldn’t have shared with me.” She interjected, pointing at me. I raised an eyebrow and she smiled wickedly. “You’ll understand what I mean in a second.” As she said that we pulled into the driveway of a huge house that had two black BMWs in the front. I stared at her as she smiled and jumped out of her car, suddenly excited. I cautiously followed behind her, kind of nervous about the situation.
“Where exactly did you make these friends?” I asked skeptically. She glanced back at me and smiled widely.
“The concert.” She answered before throwing the front door open. “Guys! Emma and I are here!” She walked in as though she’s been doing it for years, leaving me at the doorway. She stopped a few feet away from the door and motioned me to come in. I reluctantly stepped into the house before stopping. Oh. My. God.
“So you’re the infamous Emma we’ve been hearing about.” The Synyster Gates chuckled, crossing his arms over his chest. I couldn’t breathe. “It’s nice to finally meet you. I’m Brian.”
“I’m sure you know all of our names,” Zacky Vengeance interjected, smiling as he stood next to Syn-er, Brian. I looked down the line of guys and they were all there: M. Shadows, the Rev, Brian, Zacky, and Johnny Christ. I stared wide-eyed, unable to say anything. Zacky laughed and smiled gently. “But just in case you don’t, this is Johnny; I’m Zach, that’s Brian, Jimmy, and Matt.”
“Em, say something.” Jessi giggled, smiling widely at me. I looked at her in shock and my jaw quivered a little.
“You… you… how?” I stuttered, still shocked by the fact that my best friend became friends with the Avenged Sevenfold. She smiled and glanced lovingly at them.
“It was at the concert. Some guy tried to rape me but luckily Matt stopped him.” Jessi answered, staring at Matt in adoration. He smiled back at her before looking back at me. “And so Jimmy pulled me up back stage and we all hung out after the concert.”
“And you didn’t invite me?!” I yelled, finally melting from the initial shock. She laughed.
“Excuse me,” Jessi sneered sarcastically, shifting her weight. “If you remember, not only did you leave me in the front for some guy, but you also left the concert without me. No way was I going to share my findings with you then.”
“Hold on a sec,” I muttered, turning around. I shut the door and took a deep breath before letting out an ear-splitting scream. I turned around and all the boys were ducking, shocked by my scream. I jumped and covered my mouth in excitement in shock. “Holy mother fucking shit I’m actually meeting fucking Avenged Sevenfold!”
“My God, Kid,” Zach laughed, looking at Jessi. “She has a mouth almost as bad as you.”
“Oh, get her angry and she’ll have a mouth worse than Matt.” Jessi retorted, laughing. Matt looked at her incredulously and with false hurt.
“Hold up a damn minute,” Matt began, looking at Jessi. He smiled and put his hands on his hips. “I don’t have a bad fucking mouth. Shut the fuck up, you bitch.”
“Exhibit A.” Jessi sang, laughing. Everyone laughed and Jessi walked over and hugged Matt. He hugged her back tightly before letting go and smiling down at her.
“Wait a second.” I began, staring at them wide-eyed. Everyone looked at me, waiting for me to continue. “Are you and the Matt Sanders dating?”
“Ha! They wish!” Johnny blurted. I saw Jessi and Matt both scowl before I turned my attention towards Johnny. He was honestly really cute, and he seemed super nice at first glance. He saw me staring and smiled at me.
“So Emma,” Brian started, smirking. “I heard you’re a big fan.”
“Oh my-“
“Brian!” Jessi interrupted, suddenly running up to me and covering my mouth. “Do not start her on how much she loves you guys. It may be nice for you guys to hear and all, but I’ve known her since seventh grade and if I listen to her explain her love for you guys one more time I’m going to shoot myself.”
“I just wanted to see your reaction.” Brian laughed. Jessi grimaced before rolling her eyes and walking over to him. She punched him in the arm before hugging him. Brian pat her back before jokingly shoving her away. She hugged the rest of them, slightly lingering when she got to Zach. I caught that Matt had noticed that, and he tensed up. I coughed and Jessi looked at me. I shot a look at Matt before back to her, and she looked at him. He was scowling and his hands were clenched. Her eyes widened and she ran over to him and lunged at him. He caught her and immediately softened up and set her on his hip like a kid.
“So,” Zacky began, smiling at me. “why don’t you come in and we can learn more about you.”
“What, Jessi doesn’t talk about me to you?” I asked sarcastically, shooting a glance at her. She smiled innocently at me and I narrowed my eyes.
“Oh no, she talks about you,” Johnny chuckled, grabbing my hand and guiding me to the couch. He sat next to me and put his arm on my shoulder, causing me to blush. “But it’s always shit-“
“Johnny!” Jessi snapped playfully. She looked at me and smiled. “I talk about you sometimes, but I didn’t tell them your life story.” I nodded in understanding, and everyone came over to sit near me. Brian sat next to me, Zach sat on the floor next to Johnny, and Jimmy sat on the floor next to Brian. Matt sat down in front of me and placed Jessi on his lap. I raised an eyebrow and looked at Johnny.
“Are you sure they’re not dating?” I asked rather loudly. Johnny laughed and nodded.
“This is actually the first time in two weeks that Matt’s actually letting Kid touch him. Usually he just-“
“Johnny, how about you shut up.” Matt snapped harshly. Johnny rolled his eyes, and so did all the other guys. Jessi’s smile disappeared and she looked at Zach. He returned an apologetic glance, causing confusion to mask my face.
“I’m confused, someone please explain.” I stated, looking at all of them. Brian sighed and turned him towards me.
“So, first night, Matt was Kid’s night and shining armor because oh shit he saved her from rape.” Brian began, making hand gestures. I smiled and he returned it before continuing. “Next night, we all get drunk and they slept together. They say they didn’t have sex but I mean, Kid was pissed out of her mind, so I honestly doubt they’re telling the truth. Well then next day Matt was acting all bitter to Kid, and for the rest of the week after she left he confined himself to his room like a teenage girl. She came back next week and he was okay for a while, but then he became an asshat so then to retaliate Kid has been being a bitch to him and quite frankly it’s annoying the hell out of me because they both stare at each other lovingly yet they’re constantly at each other’s throats.”
“…Wow.” I mumbled. I looked at everyone else to see what they thought of Brian’s expression, and Zach, Jimmy, and Johnny were all nodding in agreement. Jessi had her head down and was playing with her fingers, and Matt was staring awkwardly at me. “That’s, uh… that’s something.”
“Yeah. Especially if you think they should get together but Matt refuses to explain why he’s pissed off at her.” Zach added, leaning against the couch. Johnny and Brian nodded, and Matt was suddenly glaring at Zach. Zach noticed and flipped him off, causing Matt to tense up.
“So, Emma,” Johnny began, trying to get people away from the tension between Matt and Zach. “When did you move to California?”
“About two months ago.” I answered, smiling lightly. They all raised an eyebrow.
“How haven’t we seen you around?” Zach asked. I shrugged and they mimicked me. “So did you invite Kid to stay with you or did she ask?”
“Kid?” I questioned. Everyone chuckled, including Jessi.
“We call her Kid because when we saved her she waited forever until she told us her name.” Jimmy explained. I nodded in understanding before looking at Jessi.
“Why would you hide them from me?” I asked, whining slightly. She sighed and rolled her eyes.
“Call me selfish but I knew if I told you I wouldn’t have gotten to have some alone time with them.” Jessi answered, blinking blankly at me.
“SELFISH.” All the guys yelled. Jessi sighed and kicked Zach, who was closest to her. It became silent for a moment before Matt spoke up for the first time.
“How about you stay over tonight? Kid usually does and she hasn’t been over for a while; and she probably doesn’t want to be the only girl around us.” He asked, smiling kindly at me. I nodded and Jessi rolled her eyes.
“Yeah, it totally sucks being hit on by every band member of Avenged Sevenfold when they’re drunk. Totally horrible.” Jessi said sarcastically, shaking her head and rolling her eyes. We all laughed and Matt tightened his grip on her waist.
