I laid lazily against Johnny as I stared at my new friends. Jimmy, Zacky, and Brian were all in a circle, playing some sort of drinking game. Matt and Jessi were sitting under Matt’s flat screen that was mounted on his wall, sitting close and secluded from the rest of us. Matt has his arm around Jessi’s neck and was whispering things into her ear, which usually ended with one of three actions: Smiling, closing her eyes, or gazing lovingly at him. I took another drink of beer from my bottle before turning my attention to Johnny. He too was staring at the guys, looking as though he were trying to understand what they were doing. After a minute he noticed I was staring at him and he smiled.
“Has anyone told you you’re adorable?” He slurred, gently pushing on my nose. I pretended to sneeze, the way Jessi always had when she was younger, and he laughed. I smiled at him and he pulled me closer. He pointed towards the guys before looking back down at me. “Do you understand what they’re doing?”
“I h-have no clue.” I mumbled, hiccupping. I squinted my eyes as I stared at them, for the alcohol had started affecting my eyesight. “Quite frankly I can’t see anything further than a foot from me r-right now.”
“So you can see me?” He whispered seductively, turning my head towards him so I was looking at him. I stared in awe as I looked into his dark brown eyes. I had never really noticed before how rich and dark brown they were, so I widened my eyes in shock.
“Dude, your eyes are really dark brown,” I mumbled. He laughed and I blushed a little. I looked down and traced the top of my beer bottle with my finger. “I probably just sounded really high and stupid right there.”
“Don’t worry about it, Love. I thought it was adorable.” He said back. I looked up and smiled. He smiled back and took a drink of his beer before glancing back at the guys. By now Zacky had himself sprawled across the floor, looking as though he was passed out. Brian and Jimmy were shoving him, whining and threatening him.
“Zaaccckkk,” Brian whined loudly, shaking his shoulder. Zach opened his eyes and looked sadly at Brian.
“What do you want? I’m tired.” Zach replied in the same tone. Brian and Jimmy both pouted and continued to push him.
“Zacky, it’s your turn.” Jimmy added, shaking Zach’s leg. Zach moaned loudly and swatted at the guys.
“I don’t wanna play anymore guys, I’m tired.” Zach cried, covering his eyes with his arm.
“You’re being a pussy!” Brian yelled, pouting. Zach flipped him off and Brian glared at him. Jimmy suddenly shoved Brian’s arm and held up his vodka bottle. Excitement and wickedness covered Brian’s face as he unscrewed the vodka and took a sip before turning back towards Zach. He noticed Johnny and me staring, so he put a finger over his mouth, telling us to be quiet. Johnny put his thumbs up and Brian smiled widely. I watched in anticipation as Brian slowly tipped the bottle over Zach’s face, causing the clear liquid to splash all over Zach’s face and arm. He shot up and yelled loudly, the vodka soaking his hair, face, and shirt. He cussed loudly and shoved Brian down, clearly pissed. Johnny and Jimmy laughed, and Jimmy came over to high five Johnny before going back to Brian and Zach. I glanced at Matt, who was still whispering to Jessi, before looking back at Johnny. He felt my stare on him, so he looked back and raised an eyebrow.
“Won’t Matt be mad that they just spilled a whole bottle of alcohol on his carpet?” I questioned, eyeing the huge wet spot on the floor. I looked back at Johnny and he shrugged.
“Nah, he’s too busy saying sweet hymns to Kid.” Johnny replied drunkenly, holding his bottle in the air. I shrugged and finished off my beer before snuggling closer to Johnny.
“So is it always like this with you guys?” I asked, yawning. Johnny smiled and tilted his head a little before looking at his friends.
“No. Usually we’re all playing drinking games together and there are a lot more broken things. I guess it’s a good thing that two beautiful ladies are here with us, otherwise Matt would probably have to go buy another flat screen.” Johnny explained, crinkling his face a little at the end. I blushed at his compliment before giving him a shocked look.
“Another?” I said incredulously. He nodded and held up three fingers. I widened my eyes and huffed. “That would pay for my rent for probably five months.” Johnny chuckled before staring intently at me.
“So, when you were younger, who did you have a crush on from A7X?” Johnny suddenly asked, his eyes full of wonder. He was slowly leaning towards me, making the distance between our faces smaller.
“Well, originally I liked Zacky,” I stated honestly. Disappointment began to cross his face when I shot my hand up to his cheek. “But in all honesty, I’ve always had a thing for bassists.” I winked and he smiled cheekily. He leaned in closer and our lips barely touched when a snicker and whistle made us pull away.
“Hey Sanders!” Zacky yelled drunkenly, trying to get his attention. Matt didn’t move, but the other three were all staring at us with smirks on their face. “Can you believe it? Johnny boy actually found a girl! And the best part is, she’s actually his size!” All the guys howled with laughter and Johnny just grimaced. He sat up a little and cleared his throat.
“If you don’t mind me asking,” Johnny sneered, looking amused yet drunkenly irritated. “Where’s your girlfriend tonight? Oh wait, I forgot, you don’t have one.”
“That’s it shortshit, it’s on!” Zacky yelled, standing up. He staggered for a second before walking over to the couch. Johnny shot up and met Zacky in the middle and I watched as they both playfully punched each other and tackled one another to the floor. Brian and Jimmy were cheering them on, and I watched in entertainment. I glanced at Jessi and noticed that Matt was getting up to watch the fight. Jessi smiled and walked over to me and plopped herself on the couch.
“Aren’t they so fun?” She sighed, smiling widely. I nodded and looked at her.
“Thanks for inviting me over.” I mumbled. She nodded and put her arm around my shoulder. I turned and cupped my hand over my mouth so I could whisper to her. “I think Johnny and I are dating.”
“Really?!” She squealed happily. I nodded furiously and she hugged me. We both sighed and leaned back as we watch Zach and Johnny smash each other against the floor. Jessi let out a breath and I looked at her. She smirked and glanced back at the boys, chewing on the inside of her mouth. “Now all we have to do is get Matt to ask me out.”
