Two Beating Hearts

**Brian's POV**

My stomachs is in knots while Zee and I wait in line for the roller coaster, not because I'm scared of the ride but because I'm terrified that Suzy called my dad and told him about my sexual preference.

Zacky pokes me in the side, "Are you still freaking out about your dad's reaction?" he says and wraps his arms around my waist, pulling me closer to him.

Some people in line turn and give us dirty looks and my blood begins to boil...why the fuck do people have to be so judgmental?! Love is love, and sometimes it doesn't fit into the mold society wants it to, but that doesn't mean they have the right to hate us for it!

I let out an exasperated sigh, "Doesn't it bother you that people are glaring at us?" I ask harsher than I intended to, causing Zacky to step back away from me.

His is green eyes are sad and full of pain as he stares at me in disbelief, "Are you a- ashamed of me?" he asks in a hurt tone and I open my mouth to answer but the words get stuck in my throat.

What is wrong with me? Why can't I tell him that I'm not ashamed of being with him? Does it have to do with the fear of how my dad is going to react? Am I looking for an easy out?

Zee shakes his head at me and walks away. It's then that my heart rate speeds up in genuine fear...I'm not nearly as afraid of my dad as I am at losing Zacky. "Zee wait!" I scream but he doesn't stop his retreat. "Zacky please!!!" I cry and crumple down to the pavement.

I feel like I'm drowning except I'm not in water....I gasp for air and struggle to breath. The last thought that crosses my mind before I blackout is...

Is this what a panic attack feels like?
