*Carry On*

**Kaylyn's POV**

We approach the table and my mother's face is red in anger sprinkled with bits of embarrassment, making her head resemble one of those red rubber kick balls we used to play with in gym class. Oh, I would love to shove my foot through her face if she insults Brian, or our relationship, even one more time.

My mother takes a step forward and smacks Brian right across the face before verbally scolding him like he is beneath her. That's it, you asked for it Mother! I grab the bottle of 1967 Burgundy Pinot Noir off the table and forcefully grab my mother by the hair until she yelps out in pain. I take a huge swig of wine straight from the bottle and hold my mom at arms length in front of me as she thrashes around. I give Brian a sympathetic look before spitting the crimson liquid right in her face and smirk as it stains her $300 white designer blouse.

I tighten my grip on her one last time before pushing her away from me with as much force as I can muster. 'If Barbara's face wasn't red before it sure is now!' I chuckle to myself before turning back to face Brian. His expression is clearly shocked but with a slight undertone of something else.. embarrassment?...amusement?

"Kaylyn Marie Rizzo!!" my mother shrieks from behind me and I shutter before turning back to face her. I'm not shaking in fear, I'm boiling with rage, so you better watch what you say Barbara! "I FORBID YOU TO CONTINUE TO SEE THAT LOW CLASS AND IMMORAL MAN! LOOK AT WHAT HE'S TURNED YOU INTO...YOU'RE- YOU'RE A HARLOT! A SLUT! A TRASHY GIRL WHO ALLOWS HERSELF TO BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF IN A PUBLIC MEN'S ROOM!!" she rages and I throw my head back and laugh loudly.

I step towards her, so my face is only inches away from her's, "First off, you can not FORBIDme from seeing anyone! I'm 27 years old, not 7! Secondly, Brian is NOT low class or immoral, if you took the time to get to know him then you would see that he's amazingly talented, smart, charming, funny and kind. He is everything that I could have ever dreamed of, all wrapped up in mighty fine looking packaging. You on the other hand are judgmental, cruel, vain, self-centered and completely wrong in your assumptions-" I sneer before whispering in her ear, "-I am the one who took advantage of him in a public restroom and I'm happy to tell you, it's not the first time." I smirk and peck her on the cheek.

She wipes away my affection with the back of her hand and stares at me dumbfounded. "I don't even know you" she sighs and I roll my eyes at her.

"No mother, you do know me but you refuse to acknowledge me, because I won't conform to the cookie cutter image you always dreamed I would fall into. I have tattoos that you say make me look trashy, I wear ripped jeans which you say no respectable lady should ever wear, and I chose to fall madly in love with the most incredible man on the planet and you snub your nose at him because he isn't Alex, your dream son-in-law" I say and dip one of the white linen napkins in the glass of water on the table and wipe the cover up off my, still slightly bruised, cheek. I spin in a circle so the rest of the restaurant patrons and employees and see my battered face, "well at least Brian doesn't hit me or stalk me, unlike the man you so desperately want me to be with!" I sneer and everyone gasps in shock.

My mother can feel all the disapproving eyes on her and quickly storms towards the exit, with her head hung down in shame. She knows she is wrong about Brian but her snobby pride won't allow her to apologize and until she does, I don't want her in my life.

Speaking of apologies, I owe Brian one for not trusting him with Tempe. I turn back around to face him but he's nowhere in sight...
