*Carry On*

**Kaylyn's POV**

Luckily, Brian tells me that he's still ok with me crashing at his place, but I can tell that he's desperately trying to distance himself from spending time alone with me.

I offer for us to grab some lunch and he noticeably stiffens in discomfort. He gives me a questioning look and I suddenly realize that I'm not leaving the friend zone any time soon.

"I-I mean the whole band...We can talk about your new image." I quickly correct and he lets out an almost disappointed sounding sigh...trust me bud, you're not the only one who's feeling disappointed.

"How bout dinner after band practice?" he says half-heartily while addressing the invite to the entire band. We all nod our heads in agreement as the plane touches down on the Tarmac.

I quickly stand up and attempt to distance myself from Brian because I know that if I don't I'm going to get crushed all over again. Sadly, as crazy as it sounds, I fear that losing Brian will hurt worse than the end of my engagement to Alex did...I need to control my emotions and try and be as professional as possible.

"Can I give you a hand with your stuff?" Matt offers and I let out a small laugh.

"Thanks but I didn't really pack a whole lot...or at all, for a matter of fact. I guess you can say my trip to Vegas was-" I pause and my eyes subconsciously look at towards Brian, "very unexpected".

Matt follows my line of sight and let's out a heavy sigh, "You are playing with fire....make sure you don't get burned" he says sadly and gently kisses the top of my head.

Brian sees the small sign of affection that Matt gave me and frowns. Seriously?!? His friends can't even console me for my impending heartache without him getting upset...can you say, jealous much?? I think it's obvious to everyone BUT him that I have genuine feelings for him, or maybe he just refuses to see them.

I push my way outside and quickly light up a cigarette..ahh the nicotine is just what I need right now! Zacky lights up right next to me and gives me a sideways glance.

"Is everything ok between you and Haner?" He asks in a concerned voice and I'm not sure if it's for mine, Brian's, or his benefit.

I shrug my shoulders nonchalantly, "Yeah, we are just fine" I lie but I can tell he doesn't believe it.

"Look Kaylyn, I-" he says but gets cut off by my laughter. He turns to face me, "Why do you always laugh at me? Do I amuse you?" he says in an annoyed and clipped tone.

I shake my head quickly, "Oh no, I think that's the first time you just addressed me by my first name, is all. I was just laughing at how we are finally making progress" I say with a smile and he gets an adorably playful grin across his sexy pierced lips. Damn, why they are all so attractive!?


"Ah ok, well I will try and lighten up on the formalities because I can tell you're making progress with Brian. He's opened up to you more than he has to any of us, with the exception of Jimmy. I may have been too rough on you for your..unconventional...ways but they appear to be working. So, job well done." he says just as Brian walks passed us.

His expression almost looks pained by Zacky's words and I can't help but wonder if he thinks that my affection for him was all part of some master plan designed by his bandmates to get him back on track.

I toss my cigarette and chase after him, "Brian wait!" I plead but he continues to walk away from me. I run as fast as my legs will carry me and lay a hand on his chest, halting him in place.

"You know what...when something seems too good to be true, it probably is" he spits out coldly and my blood begins to boil...How fucking dare he distrust my feelings!?!

I shove him away from me, "Oh! You must know because you're such a great judge of a person's character!" I growl back but instantly regret my harsh words.

Brian clenches his jaw, "Find a new place to stay and keep the fuck away from me!" he screams angrily and I know I fucked up...I basically told him that he was a blind idiot and allowed Aubrey to break his heart.

Brian storms out of the airport and climbs into a cab with Jimmy, Johnny and Matt...oh, I'm such an idiot! The cab speeds away and I turn to see Zacky shaking his head at me.

I frown because my emotional state of mind is about to get me fired again.
