Darkness drifting in...

Brian’s POV
I made the grand tour around the house together with my parents, sister and brother. It had been a while since they last were here and especially all of them together, so I took the chance to show them everything again and by that opportunity, I could also check the situation, they finally met Jacky and I wanted to know what they thought about her, without her being around right now.

“So… what do you say?” I asked no one in particular while leading them back into the garden.
“Nice house, but you already know that.” Suzy smiled and I rolled my eyes.
“You all know that’s not what I mean.” I looked at each one of them for a moment.
“What do you want to hear son? We haven’t really talked to her yet, give us some time.” My father clapped my back and added.

“But she looks hot.” He whispered, but a little too loud.
“I heard that, senior.” Suzy slapped the back of his head.
“I mean for him, not for me… you are the only one, you know that.” My Dad, slapped Suzy’s ass and as they walked away I groaned, why do they always have to be like that?
“So, you two can tell me something?” I looked from Mckenna to Brent and I saw the smile on Brent’s face.
“Does she have a sister?” I rolled my eyes “Yes, she does, but you gotta fight with Shadz if you want that piece of ass.”
“Oh shit, I’ll decline.” Brent chuckled, averting his eyes to heaven, bringing his finger to his lips as if he was thinking about something hard. I looked at him and narrowed my eyes “Don’t even think about it.”
“Don’t worry. I saw the way she looked at you…” Brent clapped my back and I smiled, he did? She did?
“I like her…” With that he followed our parents and I stood alone with McKenna, she was the one that would be harder to convince.
“So Mac, tell me about it.” I laid my arm around her slim shoulders and looked at her form the side.
“What you wanna hear, Bri? Maybe you could have said a word before we arrived here, we could have been prepared.” Mac answered and I sighed.
“I know, I just… I didn’t know how. You know I don't do this often, or.. well..at all… But she is…”
“..Special?” Mac finished for me and I nodded.
“She is.” I smiled thinking of Jacky.
“Then I hope she thinks the same about you, Bri. But I have to agree with Brent, she looks at you with love, so as long as she doesn’t break your heart, I think we will come along fine.” With that Mac left and I sighed in relief, for now that sounded good enough.

It took me more than an hour to find Jacky again, I saw her together with Joe, Arin and his parents, going into the house, but instead of coming to me, she just blew me a kiss.
Next time I saw her, she stood in the tent with my parents, laughing about some stupid jokes my father made.
When I neared her she smiled, but didn’t get or didn’t want to get my signs to follow me to a more private spot.

When I approached her now, when she was talking to my brother, I laid my arms around her waist and kissed her, she quickly made a step to the side and pecked my lips, telling she would get some drinks for us and I sighed.
What was going on, why was she avoiding me now? She was spending so much time with everyone except for me.

When she came back and handed the drinks to my brother and me I laid my arm around her waist, smiling, she wouldn’t get away from me now.
“Babe, what’s going on?” I whispered in her ear, but she just smiled and kept on talking with my brother.
I leaned towards her, nuzzling her neck, trying to get close to her but she narrowed her eyes on me.
“Brian, stop that please.” She pulled away and when I was about to say something, I was interrupted again. “Jacky? Can I talk to you for a second?” Suzy asked and I sighed, another chance gone.

I let my head drop down and walked into the kitchen, looking for some silence and wanting to get myself a stronger drink than what I had before, meeting Matt there, who was getting himself a whiskey and I quickly set my glass next to it.
“What’s wrong, Haner? Not having fun?” Matt asked, but I could hear in his voice that he wasn’t so thrilled at the moment either.

“Well, nice to have everyone around, but… the one I want to be around is avoiding me.” I said and drank the whiskey in one go, letting the alcohol burn down my throat.
“I know that feeling, my friend. Since Jacky stole Joe to meet Arin’s parents I haven’t seen her again and I’m getting tired of talking business the whole night without having her by my side.” Matt explained and I held my glass out for more whiskey.
“Well, I saw Jacky.. but she didn’t really wanna see me. Pulling away, not wanting to kiss me… shit, what’s wrong?”
“Maybe she doesn’t wanna show her affection in front of your parents?” Matt shrugged.
“Why? I mean.. it’s just my parents…” I will probably never get the thinking of women, I guess.
“Hope this day is over soon and I can have the normal Jacky back, I don’t like to share her with everyone.” Matt nodded at me, clicking his glass to mine.
“Totally on board with that, bro.” Matt drank the rest of his glass and I watched the scene outside.
“I can see Joe, there. Try your luck, I will try another chance with mine.” I pointed outside, seeing Jacky stand next to Johnny’s parents now.
“Thanks, good luck.” Matt pushed himself from the counter and walked towards Joe while I made my way over to Johnny, his parents and the woman I wanted close so badly.

“Jacky, don’t bother with names, all the boys call us Mom and Dad, if you are going to be part of this crazy lot, you better keep the same habits” Johnny’s parents gave Jacky the same speech they had given all of us before and Johnny was smiling stupidly.
I walked over to the little group, kissed the cheek of Johnny’s mom and shook his dad’s hand before I stood next to Jacky, pulling her close to my side, wrapping my arm around her shoulder and put a kiss on her temple “There you are, I haven’t seen you all night”
This time she just blushed, but stayed where I had put her and I let out a content smile.
“Brian, so good to see you this happy, you most certainly found a nice girl in her, sweetie” Johnny’s mom smiled at me lovingly. These people had all watched us grow up, through good and bad times and it was nice to have them around when we needed them.
“Thank you, I like her pretty much too” I winked at her.
Jacky giggled next to me and her hand moved over my back.
“Will you excuse us for a second?” I said with a smile and grabbed Jacky’s hand, pulling her outside of the tent, walking away from it a little.

I pulled Jacky in my arms and let my lips crash down on hers. Her body formed to mine as she completely relaxed in my arms. She sighed in the kiss and I felt her hands in my hair.
“I missed you tonight” I talked to her lips. She backed away a little and looked at me intensely, a hint of disapproval in her eyes.
“I missed you too, but I had to make a good impression on your parents, I couldn’t just run away with you to have a quickie right under their noses. What would they have thought about me!”
I chuckled “My dad would have applauded I think”
She playfully hit my shoulder “Brian!”
“I understand you wanted to make a good impression, but believe me, they like you, they can see I love you. You are good”
Again I kissed her, quickly deepening the kiss. I loved the feeling of her body to mine. This whole night could have been anything it wanted to be, as long as I could stay here with Jacky, I would be fine.

Joe’s POV
I had met so many people tonight, my head was spinning. Matt and I had started the evening perfectly. He took me around to talk to everyone and I was the perfect company, letting him talk, only adding something when they asked for my opinion. It was nice for a change, that the only task I had was to keep Matt happy tonight. He was holding my hand, introducing me to every man in the room, his tone getting more proud, or cocky maybe, that he was the one to have me.

But after a while we got separated and it took forever to be reunited again and then the whole meeting Arin’s parents happened. After that… I hadn’t seen him anymore. So my heart skipped a beat when I felt those familiar strong arms snake around my waist, that lovely smell of having him close as he softly kissed my bare shoulder blade.
“Hey baby, I’m happy I finally have you in my arms again”
I smiled and leaned into him.
“If I would have a woman like this one, I would most certainly never let her out of my sight Sanders, you’ll never know who will try to steal her away from you”
George, the man I had been talking to for a while now, one of Matt’s oldest clients, put his hand on my arm, giving it a little squeeze.
I felt Matt tense up behind me, and he took a step back, taking me with him.
“You better keep your hands to yourself, George, this one is mine” I heard he tried to joke, but he wasn’t succeeding. His tone was sharp and George looked at him confused, quickly took his hand back.
“Of course Matt, of course” George replied uncomfortably. Ah Matt, what did you do?!

“George, let me get you something to drink” I smiled at the man as he gave me a polite nod. I took Matt’s hand “You come with me”.
I dragged him behind me to the far corner of the tent, only service staff passing us by.
“What was that?!” I glared at him, getting myself out of his grip.
“What was what?! He needs to keep his hands off of you!”
“He was just being friendly Matt! His wife was right around the corner talking to Zack!”
“Then why did he put his hand on you, huh? Why?”
“Argh!” I let out a cry in frustration and threw my hands in the air in defeat “Because he was NICE! Because I talked to him about you, about how good you lead this company, how well you are at your job! Well, with that one little remark you completely ruined all my work to build up your good reputation!”
“He should have known better than to touch you” Matt looked like a little kid, only wanting to hear he was right, being stubborn, only barely staying away from throwing himself on the ground screaming and kicking.
“You just don’t get it do you?!” I was almost yelling at him now, just because I was so frustrated with him. I needed to get away, just get away from him, before we would get into a fight on this night that should be a party.
I started to walk away from him, but he grabbed my hand.
“Joe, where are you going?! I have hardly seen you all night”
“Don’t Matt, I need to get away from this, clear my head for a second, seriously, let me go” I yanked myself out of his grip and walked away from him, leaving him dumbfounded.

Shit! I can’t believe Matt still didn’t trust me. I was trying so hard to mingle with all his guests, with his friends, his family, his business partners and the minute one of his oldest clients laid hand on my arm in nothing more than a friendly gesture, he freaks out?! I didn’t understand! Damn! Ugh, he even made me swear, and not in a good way.

I stormed into the house, seeking the silence. The house was quiet, everyone was outside, partying the night away. I sat down on the stairs, trying to get a clear mind again. I loved the man, but he was driving me crazy with his jealous behavior.

A knock on the door made me look up, who could that be? I got up and walked over to the door
“You are lucky, no one would have heard-“ my words stuck in my throat when I noticed the man standing in front of the door, the same man that had tried to take me away from Matt at the airport in Hawaii.
“I am most certainly lucky, I thought this would be a lot harder, but you are making my day Josephine” his voice was silky smooth and I wanted to take a step back, but I was too late. His hand was already grabbing me and pulling me to his body. I did the only thing I could think of and opened my mouth to scream, but again… I was too late… He had a little cloth in his hand that smelled funny and I felt so tired all of a sudden and just before I blacked out I thought about those kind hazel eyes… and I could only let out on a whisper “Matt, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry for opening the door”
