Joe’s POV
Matt had been running in and out of the office all day. This company had an anniversary, they wanted to give a party and they barely arranged anything. I can’t even come to understand how this would work. It was beside me.
To be honest, it freaked me out and my hands were aching to get to work, but every time I asked Matt, he said I didn’t need to do anything. I tapped my pen to the desk, a sound that was jittery and was working on my last nerve. I needed to do something! I pushed my chair back and paced in the office, waiting for Matt to come in.

“Joe? What are you doing?” Even though I was waiting for him, he still surprised me when he suddenly stood behind me. He walked up behind me and pulling me close. I stood straight and looked at him.
“You have to give me something to do, I can’t stand this. Use me, I know my planning a party, I know my organizing, I know handling suppliers, please give me something to do” I looked at him, practically begging him, even though I tried my hardest to stay all businesslike. Matt looked at me curiously before he grabbed my hand.
“Come on” We walked out of the office, bumping into Johnny.
“Matt, I-“ he started when his eyes wandered over to our hands. Matt smiled at his friend and took a step back, grabbing a folder of his desk.
“Johnny, please call these suppliers to confirm the orders, they are included there too or let Arin do it. The tent should be delivered in a few hours, could you and Brian make sure they start building it up? I won’t be available for the next few hours”
Johnny nodded and took the folder. Matt reached for his phone and handed it to Johnny too, before he held out his hand to me, I looked at him confused “Your phone Joe, your phone” I grabbed my phone, confused of his actions. Matt handed both phones to Johnny “Give these to Arin, he’ll know what to do”

Matt took me to the master bathroom, closed the door and locked it. He turned on the taps to fill the tub, holding out his hand to test the water and added some bubbles. I looked at him, I saw what he was doing, but I was so confused. He wanted to take a bath? In the middle of the day? When I looked up again, he was already undressed and he had one foot into the tub.
“Go on Joe, take of your clothes and join me” I thoughtlessly took of my clothes and walked over to Matt who held out his hand. We sat down and he hugged me to his body, my back to his chest.
“Talk” he simply stated, as he softly caressed my skin, I knew what he wanted to talk about, but I kept quiet.

“I don’t know… I’m just… I have this weird feeling, maybe I should just keep my distance at the party”

“I just.. I don’t know if I’m ready to meet your parents Matt, what if they think it’s weird how we met? I mean, I’m interfering with your business”
“That is just bullshit, Joe, I love you, I fell in love with you, despite of the job and believe me, I tried my best to not fall in love with you” Matt chuckled and I tried to relax, enjoy us sitting here in the warm water, his skin to mine.
“Please tell me what is really wrong, because I don’t get it and I hate seeing you nervous like this”

Did I really had to tell him what I was feeling now? It just felt so wrong, showing my weaknesses, I hate to be the one to show him I wasn’t that tough woman I pretended to be.
“Joe, don’t even think about acting like nothing can influence you. We agreed on being honest, remember?”

“DRESS! I have nothing to wear!!!! I have to go shop! You have to take me shopping!” Sheer panic came over me

Jacky’s POV
I tried to busy myself with work, normally that wasn’t my thing, but today I had no other chance.
I knew, that if I wouldn’t occupy myself with work I would go crazy.
I mean… in only 2 days the Company Anniversary would take place here in the mansion and about 100 guests were coming over, and we didn’t prepare anything…

Brian had showed up here a couple of times, trying to talk to me and distract me but honestly he was making me only more nervous.
“Jacky? I think the living room is clean enough, are you okay?” Arin asked and I nodded and put a smile on my face, but he saw right through.
“I told you already not to worry… It will be fine.” Arin assured me and wanted to believe him but somehow I couldn’t.
“Thanks Arin, but I need to… do something, if I keep on thinking about it, I will go insane.” I told him and Arin nodded.
“First of all, you don’t need to clean anything here, we will have someone come over to do that. Second, here, you can help me check the list of people who we invited and who have accepted our invitation and how many people will come so we can make sure, only these people are really coming in, we need to double check it… Since you and Joe are here, we have to be even more careful.” Arin said and I swallowed, right… that was another thing I mostly forgot about, because I already felt so at home.

“Right, you are right. Give me that list, I will check it and you can have a look at it after I finished, okay. Four eye principle, right?” I smiled and felt a little better now.
“Perfect, and you know what?” Arin smiled and I shook my head.
“What?”
“Do you know what to wear to the party?” Arin asked and my eyes opened wide in shock.
“Oh my god, ARIN! I don’t have anything to wear.. I can’t wear my short dresses while meeting Brian’s parents… OH…I need to… I mean… what would they think… the first impression counts...” I began to pace and thought about my wardrobe knowing, there was nothing like the fancy dresses Joe had, could I loan one from her? But she would need her best dress herself, and honestly… that wasn’t really my style anyway…
“Jacky, hey… Calm down… I thought I could take you and Joe shopping? Maybe I could arrange together something together with Matt, he could call some of the designer shops nearby, I think he knows a couple of people there and we could ask them to extend the opening hours for us a little, so we have enough privacy but won’t take a risk? Let me talk to him. I’ll figure something out, don’t worry.” Arin smiled and damn, what would I do without this kid?
“God, Arin! How could I live without you for so long?!” I kissed his cheek and turned bright red.
“Stop that… that’s gross…Let me get you the list with the guests, then you have a new distraction for a couple of hours.”
Arin smiled and moved away and I nodded, alright, calm down Jack, calm down…

Matt’s POV
My heart broke a little when I heard Joe ask if my parents would even like her. I tried my best to convince her and with that, trying to convince myself too. I knew my parents would love her, but I was nervous as hell to introduce her to them. What did I have to say, what would they think? Normally I did what I wanted and my parents were supportive, but with Joe… It seemed more important that my parents approved.

I had known Joe was nervous, because I could see right through her and I knew that if she would look me in the eye now and questioned me a little more, she would find out, I was nervous as well, and that would only throw her off more.
