Secured Sevenfold

I couldn’t believe when my colleague called to tell me he finally had the green light to make a move on sister number 2.
I knew this would be fun, because soon I would get my sign as well, knew that I could make my move on sister 1, but sadly it didn’t come to that.
He was so sure that sister 2 was alone and he only had the instructions to wait until it was night, dark outside, so he waited.
He told me there was always only light on in her bedroom, he checked everything.
The bodyguard had left earlier, so no one to protect her…
When he could outsmart the security system, it was only a matter of time until he would grab her, that was his goal.
But sadly my colleague was wrong and he had fucked up and the whole plan was going down the drain, at least that’s what I thought when I heard from it…
They didn’t leave her alone, she had been watched by not only one but 2 of the bodyguards, one even being in her room… so since my colleague was alone he could not grab her, he had to back off.
I didn’t want to be in his shoes when he stated all the facts to our boss, he must have been out of his mind hearing the plan had failed so miserable…
So I thought, my new plan was just watching… but it changed, I remembered the phone call between our boss and myself.

“Did you hear about what happened with Sister 2?” Easy question nothing to worry about yet.
“Yes, I heard that.” I said casually, showing no emotion through my voice.
“I don’t like when my plans fail. I wanted to have something… something of value from Joe, he will need to come back, when he knows we have his precious girls.” My boss said and I knew this was my cue, soon I would get my sign to move.
“I know, boss. Just tell me what to do, I will bring it to an end, I promise.” I told him eager.
“I know you will, but did you also hear how it ended?” He asked me and I frowned a little.
“What ended? He left, before they could catch him.” I said and waited for a confirmation.
“Yes, that’s right but there was more to it, he watched them from afar. They took her with them, they moved her to their headquarters. They are afraid… they know we can get to them now… I like that, my friend. I love to know they fear me. I want more of that.” My boss said and his voice gave me shivers.
“Tell me what to do.” I said and couldn’t wait for my first assignment to really start.
“You have an eye on sister 1? Right?” He asked and I heard the smile in his voice.
“Yes, I can grab her in no time, it was right they did send someone here to watch her as well, it is even the boss, but he can’t be around her 24/7 I can still-”I started but he interrupted me.
“Did you not listen to me?” He barked and I cringed, shit.
“I want them to fear ME! Go to her room, while she is gone… leave them a message from me. I want them to not be able to recognize her room again… I want you to take something with you, something personal and leave a note… they will see what this will get them… they want to play a game with me? They think they are better than me… that’s bullshit… and I play to win.” With that he hung up.

And that was exactly what I did, I went to her room, since my bugs were working perfectly I knew exactly when someone was in the room and when not, I took the chance while they were at the dinner and fulfilled the plan my boss had. I would make the boss proud, not screw up, like that not good for nothing colleague of mine.

Josephine’s POV
This isn’t a date Josephine, this isn’t a date. I was repeating the same thing over and over in my head. He made me feel like it was a date and I had a hard time convincing the flutter of my heart that it wasn’t. His hand on my face while he was putting the strand of hair behind my ear made me shiver. It had been so long since I had been touched like that. Yes, Julian and I had sex, but that was more something we planned, without any real passion. This touch, this only slight touch made me feel more than I had in all the time I had been with Julian.
We were staring into each other’s eyes and I held my breath when I saw him bend down to me. I wanted him to kiss me, I needed him to kiss me, I wanted to feel his lips on mine so badly, taste him, have him, for at least a few minutes.
I closed my eyes, waiting for him to kiss me, but nothing happened, then I felt his hand move from my face and heard him curse under his breath. I opened my eyes. Anger was boiling inside of me, how could he fool me like that, was this some kind of joke for him? I was giving myself, I was trusting him and then nothing?!

I looked at him and wanted to give him a piece of my mind, when I saw the worried look on his face, he didn’t look at me anymore, he looked at the door of my room, it was ajar. I opened my mouth to say something, but Matt put his hand on my mouth and shook his head. He motioned his head to the door and silently told me to move close to the wall and wait there for him. He suddenly got a different attitude, an attitude I knew wasn’t right to mess with, he became a complete different person as he slowly walked into the room, looking around, on full alert.
After a few minutes, I heard his voice
“You can come in now Joe, but you won’t like the sight” his voice sounded tired.

I walked into the room and put my hand in front of my mouth in consternation. My room was all messed up, nothing was in its original place, my clothes were lying all over the floor, Liv’s clothes were also all over the room, all my beauty products were thrown over the vanity, all the drawers were open and messed up. My laptop was still there, so was my notebook, but there was something missing. Something that didn’t seem important to anyone, but was one of my most prized possessions. I walked around the room, pulling up sheets, picking up clothes, trying to find it.
“Joe? I know this is a lot to take in” I felt Matt move in behind me and he put a hand on my shoulder, but I shook it off. I rushed into the bathroom, but of course it wasn’t there.
I came out of the bathroom, straight into Matt’s body and he grabbed my arms, forcing me to look at him.
“Joe? Talk to me” his voice was calm and soothing, but I was freaking out
“My bag, my laptop bag, the bag I use for work, it’s gone” I could hear the panic in my own voice, and I didn’t like it one bit, but that bag was special to me. Matt looked at me confused and I knew I had to explain it to him.
“That bag was my mother’s, she used it, and when she died, my dad gave it to me, when I was valedictorian. Jacky was mad at him for giving it to me, but he told her I would need it more than she would. He even had a text embroidered in the lining.” The look at Matt’s face changed and he asked “What did it say?”
I didn’t really want to tell him, but I was sharing now, so I thought I had to. “It said “For my little princess, I love you to the moon and back”. That is what my dad always says to me when he says goodbye”

Matt’s POV
I looked at the woman sitting on the bed, she was so beat by the fact that they took her bag. I wanted to hold her and comfort her, but she wouldn’t let me. She crawled back into her cave and she was slowly putting up the walls again, nothing going in, nothing coming out. I could see her face changing to the hard and cold business attitude and knew the moment was definitely over. So I did what I did best, I started arranging things.

I grabbed my phone and called Arin. I knew it would 3 am already over there, but I didn’t care, these things needed to get done.
I was pacing in front of the door, glancing in from time to time, looking at Joe.
“Matt” Arin’s voice sounded sleepy.
“Arin, I need you to book us three tickets back home, first flight tomorrow. Somebody broke into Joe’s room, took some of her stuff. I need to get her and her friend back home as soon as possible, I can’t keep her safe here.”
I heard Arin move around and I knew he would be grabbing his laptop now and log in to all our systems. When he started talking again, his voice was alert and fast.
“Shit, they found her even over there? Damn. I will make sure you can get back home with the next flight, can I book you business class? It will make things easier”
“No problem, this is not the time to cut back on costs, if only first class seats are available, you have permission to do that too. Is there nothing out of the ordinary at the house?”
I couldn’t help but ask, when things were crashing down, I had to know there were some things that I knew I could count on.
“Yes, same old business, everything okay, Jacky is settling in well”
I nodded even though he couldn’t see me. I saw Joe move in the room, looking at something at the desk.
“Arin, I have to go, send me the flight details, and I will see you tomorrow. I will bring Joe to the mansion, it’s not safe for her to be in her own apartment. Could you prepare the guestroom with the balcony?”
“Sure thing. Be careful” And with that Arin ended the call and I walked back into the room.

Joe stood at her desk, with a note in her hand.
“What do you have there?”
She snapped her head at me, startled.
“I was stuck to my notebook” she handed me the note so I could read it.

Well, well little princess, for now we only took your precious bag, looks familiar…
Next time it will be you… your prince charming won’t always be around to protect you.
Be aware I can do everything I want. I promise you ‘to the moon and back’.

These guys knew them so well, they had either known the family for a long time or they did their homework. It made them even more dangerous. I looked at Joe and her scared look had been replaced by a determined one.
I took her by her elbow and wanted to guide her outside, when she pulled her arm out of my grip.
“What are you doing?!”
“I’m taking you to my room, you will stay there, we will call Liv and tell her to meet us there too and then first thing tomorrow I’m taking you home”
“The hell you won’t! I told you already, I’m having a holiday, I’m not letting some thug threaten me!” Joe looked at me, fire out of her eyes, mad as hell.
She made my blood boil with that attitude, she was in danger, why couldn’t she see that, why wouldn’t she see that!
“Will you please, for once, listen as I tell you?! You are in fucking danger and all you care about is your little holiday? We ARE flying back tomorrow and I WILL bring you back to our headquarters and that is the last of it!”

I grabbed her arm again and wanted to walk out, when she turned back. I sighed, why did she need to be such a pain in the ass
“Joe…” My voice sounded annoyed and I knew she had heard it too. She looked over her shoulder
“If you want me to leave tomorrow, I have to pack my things, so are you helping or just standing there like a bag of potatoes?” her voice was ice cold and bossy and I groaned.
Why the hell was she turning me on like this?!
