Zack’s POV
The tension in my friend’s body was high, I put my hand on his shoulder.
“Brian, calm down before you go over there. Yelling and ranting at her won’t do you any good and you know it.”
I heard him let out a big sigh
“I know, I just… let’s get her, this has taken too long” he growled and I watched him take big steps forward to where Jacky was standing with that Dean guy. Brian could tell me everything he wanted, but he was far passed the stage of professionalism. I sighed, it might be a good thing I’m right here with him, maybe he could get a hold of himself before he has to face Matt again.
I quickly made my way behind him as he pushed his way over to Jacky.

“THAT’S ENOUGH!” I heard Brian yell, as he pulled Dean away from Jacky and pushed him to the side. Brian shot Jacky and angry glare and then turned back to Dean. He grabbed his collar and pushed him to the wall.
“I TOLD YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM HER! I TOLD YOU TO MOVE ON AND NOT LAY A HAND ON HER EVER AGAIN! AND LOOK WHERE WE ARE!”
“CUT IT OUT!!” Jacky rushed in between the two men and put her hands on Brian’s chest. “Let him go!” She looked at Brian with fire in her eyes. Brian looked down at her with contempt and then hissed at her “I will get to YOU in a minute!”
“The hell you won’t” Jacky grabbed Dean’s hand and started pulling him away from Brian, but Brian wouldn’t let her. He grabbed her arm, forcing her to let go of Dean’s hand. He pushed her to the wall, just by closing in on her, he towered over her and started going off on her. Not even yelling, but his tone was even more frightening than if he would have.

He stood in front of her, his voice threatening, his finger poking her chest. She looked fierce at first, but her eyes grew more and more insecure with the seconds.
“You! You escaped me, even after me telling you numerous times I was there for a reason. You! You escaped me, just because you wanted a night ofFUNwith this guy?! You! You escaped me AGAIN, to be with him!”
Brian pointed his finger at Dean and Dean opened his mouth to protest “Again? When was…”
“SHUT. UP.” Brian snapped at him. Jacky took that moment of distraction to get away from Brian and I felt her move closer to me, standing behind me with half her body. Was Brian scaring her with his behavior?
“Brian…” I tried carefully.
“WHAT?!” His face was hard, without any forgiving emotion. I forced him to keep looking at me until I saw his facial features soften.
“I think this is enough, maybe we should leave”
“I’m notdone” he gritted through his teeth.
“Believe me, you are…” I pushed passed Brian and looked over at Dean “You… scoot.” I leaned in a little, making sure Brian didn’t hear me “Let this cool down a little, okay? If the girl is your friend, you should back off for a while” Dean nodded and walked away from us, turning his head with an apologizing look at Jacky. She nodded curtly and then watched Dean walk away.
Brian turned towards Jacky and me “I’ll meet you two at the car” he mumbled and stormed off to the exit.

“Thank you” I heard a small voice beside of me and I looked at Jacky.
I shook my head “Don’t misinterpret this as affection towards you. Brian is my best friend and he would have gotten into trouble. He is theonlyreason I helped you.” I looked at her closely and spoke calmly
“You and your sister have a tendency of acting like little children and frankly…. You are pretty good at it too. But the time to play is done and I will not watch my best friend get into all sorts of shit because of a little girl that can’t act her age” She looked at me stunned and before she could even think of a protest, I grabbed her elbow and guided her to the exit.
“I need to say goodbye to my friends, grab my purse and jacket”
“2 minutes”

I watched her head over to her friends, grabbing her stuff, speaking some hushed words and exchange hugs. I wouldn’t let her out of my sight, but I couldn’t keep my mind from wondering, I think Brian was in way too deep and I really needed to get him back to earth and the job as soon as possible, but how… We all knew when Brian gave in just an inch, it wasn’t easy to get him out again. And by the looks of it… He was very close to the edge of giving in, I shook my head. Time to put a stop to this.

Brian’s POV
I stormed out of the club and jumped into my car, slamming the door behind me. What the fuck was she thinking! Why couldn’t she understand the reason I was here, why couldn’t she just obey me! She gets away from me every single time, and why!? Only to be with that guy.
That’s something else too…Why do I find her with that guy all the time? Why?! She had me, wasn’t I enough for her?
“That one night was all you could give her, you asshole” I scowled at myself and I let my head bang on the steering wheel, my hands clenching onto it as if I could break it with my bare hands, if I just set my mind to it.

The shadows of Zack and Jacky came out and I saw them walking over to his car. I quickly jumped out
“She will drive with me”
“Brian….” I knew what Zack would do, he would want me to cool down, talk to her later, not get into something stupid, but I needed her alone, even if it was for just a short amount of time, I wasn’t done with her yet.
Jacky walked over to my car, her shoulders hanging down as I watched her get in.
“Just drive after me, Zack, I will guide you. I will park beneath the building, you park the car up front okay? Meet us down in the garage after?”
“Sure…” He looked at me before he got in the car “Don’t do anything stupid, Brian”
He knew me too well, I had been beyond mad, but I would keep my distance now. I would tell her what I thought about it calmly.

We were driving in an awkward silence for a few minutes when Jacky spoke up.
“I’m sorry okay? I shouldn’t have handled it like this, but I just wanted a night of my own, without a shadow tagging along”
I huffed “You should have known better, I was fucking worried sick something had happened to you”
“You are just scared your boss would find out”
“I told him immediately” I saw her turning to me from the corner of my eye
“WHAT?! You told him you slept with me!?”
My turn to act shocked “NO! Of course not! I told him you were lost, again. Your sister pulled the same stunt, for two girls that don’t get along, you make awesome plans together” My voice was dripping of sarcasm.
“What do you mean? I haven’t spoken to Joe since the night of the dinner”
“Well, then you two have impeccable timing, because she got rid of Zack and made her way out of the country unprotected”
I saw her slouch down in the seat and we were silent again for a few minutes, until we reached her building, I parked the car and turned towards her
“Jacky, you seriously need to listen to me. I’m not here without a good reason and I can’t keep you safe if you keep running from me. I’m not a hard person, I can bend with you, but then I need for you to share your life with me, tell me what’s going on. I NEED to know, I can’t do my job if you don’t”
“Fuck your job Brian, I still don’t need a babysitter, you are just scared I will tell your boss”
I could just strangle her, she annoyed the shit out of me, she couldn’t just let it go and do as I tell her. But then again she had so much fire in her eyes, her cheeks were pink from her heated attitude and she looked at me as if she could definitely fight me. I looked at her lips and licked mine, I saw her mimicking my actions.
I didn’t want to fight her anymore, I just…. I grabbed her cheeks and pulled her towards me, crashing my lips on hers, pushing my tongue into her mouth without asking permission, I would let her know who’s the boss, I would let her know how she could do as I told her to. The kiss grew more and hungry until I heard footsteps approaching and I had just pushed Jacky off of me when Zack opened the passenger door.
He looked from me to Jack and back and raised his brows. We were both out of breath and there was no question about what we had just done.

Zacky helped her out if the car, not saying a word and I was glad for that. I waited a short moment before heading out myself, trying to call my erratic breathing and trying to forget the taste of her in my mouth.
How in hell could I have done this again?
I just promised myself, keeping a distance to her and the other moment I can’t help myself but grab her and kiss her?! And the weirdest thing of all it didn’t feel like enough, not nearly enough.
Fuck!
After our night together, it should have been over, I had her, we had fun. Done… I should have been done with it, but I am not and I had no clue why.

We arrived in her apartment and Zack looked around curiously. I motioned him to sit on the couch, we still had some talking to do and I wasn’t really happy about Zack’s presence here right now.
Jacky looked a little uncertain from me to Zack and then vanished into the bathroom.
“Brian, what the fuck was that?” Zack hissed at me and I clenched my teeth together, knowing exactly what he was talking about.
“Nothing.”
“Didn’t look like nothing to me. How often do I need to remind that Matt will have your freaking balls, if you keep this up? You fucked her already, quit the shit.”
“Don’t you think I don’t know that?” I hissed back when the bathroom door opened again and Jacky approached her, hair down, make up gone and wearing only a tank top and shorts.
I forgot to breathe for a second and saw Zack staring at her as well.
Normally, I thought she couldn’t look any better than in that way too small dress and with her perfect styling, but damn she looked hot just like that.
“I’m going to bed.” She said quietly now and somehow I didn’t like her sounding so uncertain, normally she was in for a fight, pushing me back, giving me not an inch, right now she looked defeated.
“Yeah, well. Good idea. We will speak about everything tomorrow again.” Zack said finally, his eyes still on Jacky and somehow I didn’t like that.
God, what was wrong with me I never acted like this before.
“Okay.” Jacky nodded.
“Perfect, come on. I will show you where you are sleeping.” I said and had a plan in my head, knowing Zacky wouldn’t really agree with me on this one, but I wouldn’t give him a time to second guessing.
“Alright?” I walked him to the guestroom, grabbed a couple of my clothes and left him there,
in the doorway Zack stopped and finally asked “Where are you sleeping?”
I met Jacky’s eyes she frowned at me “I’m sleeping in her room.” Then I walked past her.
I left the door open for her to follow, and I heard her small gasp and a huff which made me smile a little, didn’t like me in her room, huh?!
When I stood before her bed, I got rid of my clothes and lay down in it, waiting for her to follow.
