The door

Matt’s POV
Dean had parked the car down the road, we couldn’t let us be seen and we had to get over the rest of the way by foot. I knew that was risky, too but just as Johnny described it, this would be better the way, and not driving up the front, they would see us right away.

“Alright, everyone knows what he got to do, right?” I asked turning around a final time.
“Yes.” It echoed back a couple of time and I nodded. I didn’t wanna use it but I made sure my gun was loaded and at the ready if I needed it, I saw Brian and Zack do the same.

“So Brian and I are in charge, you all listen to what we say, we can’t take any risk, you will inform me right away if something happens.” I said and Brian nodded at me.
“We go up front, you go to the back entrance. Good luck guys.” I nodded at every one of them and they replied it.

Now, the action would start, we would finally get going and the mission would begin.
Before Brian headed out I stopped him shortly, “We will bring them back, no matter what.” I told him and he nodded at me.
“At all costs.” With that said Brian run after Arin and Zack.
While I knocked against the front window, so Dean opened up.
“No funny business. You wait here and be ready, we might have to leave quickly and in panic, concentrate, even if you think this is not an important task. It is, and we need you here.” I said and could see that Johnny was nervously tapping his foot.
“I know, Matt. I will wait here, don’t worry about me, just go get them back.”I nodded with a smile.
“That’s what this is all about, believe me. I won’t come back empty handed.”

“Okay, let’s go. Show me the front door or terrace, which would you say is the easiest way to get in and where would you think the guards are posted?!” I asked Johnny and he motioned around the front door to the small terrace door.
I look through the glass carefully, so I knew no one was watching, when I heard a noise coming from the back. I motioned Johnny to go behind me, and hold my hand to the gun, just for safety reasons.

I walked a couple of steps forwards, carefully looking around the wall, seeing Brian, Arin and Zack coming our way.
Shit, they didn’t find a way inside.
“Double locked and I think I saw a guy walking inside, it was hard to tell.” Brian whispered and I nodded.
“We have a side door here, terrace. It’s glass so we could be on full view.” I said and Brian motioned us over “Let’s see.”
“We cannot get in through that door, but I can manage to get the window there out of its hinges. It’s an old one, and I know a few tricks.” Brian pointed to the window at the side, directly by the door and I frowned, since when did he know things like that, but that was topic for another time.

“Guys, when we get inside, there is an alarm system by the door. “I’ve seen those before, we might get into the kitchen through the window, but afterwards the alarm will go off, at the latest when we move out of the room so we gotta disable that one as soon as we are in.” Johnny said after a look at the room.

“I know how that works.” Arin peeped up from behind me and I nodded.
“Okay, then Brian, go get to work, then Arin and you will get inside, you will watch out that no one sees you while Arin does the work on the alarm system, we will wait until its safe, then you open the door for us.” I motioned them forward, while Zack already walked back securing the area behind the house and Johnny took up front and I helped Brian and heaved him and Arin inside the window as soon as it was open and I had to pay my respects for Brian’s trick.

Jacky’s POV
I looked over at Joe, as soon as Joanne and the co-worker had left, we were free, alright not completely free yet, but we were at least not bound to a furniture anymore and we could walk around and if I heard it correctly, they haven’t locked the door, because they were arguing too much about the fact that the co-worker challenged Joanne’s moves.
Which in our case was good, cause it meant we could get out of this room.

I was about to walk to the door to test it when I felt Joe’s hand on my wrist stopping me.
“Not yet” She whispered and I took a step back, she was right, what if they were still standing there in the corridor.
I walked to the door laying my ear against it but couldn’t hear a thing.

“We need to think about a plan, we are free of that now, but we need to think this through. I know you just want to run out of here, but we need to think about what happens when we run into one of these guys... we know we didn’t succeed into fighting them off on our own.” Joe said and I sighed.
I was planning just to wing it, but she was right.

“Okay, then let’s move out of the room really carefully and check the situation, if it’s just one of them I have a plan and you just have to play along. It’s taking too much time to explain, now. Just try to go with the flow...” I told her and she looked a little reluctant but in the end nodded.
I opened the door and stuck my head out looking to the left and right, I couldn’t see anyone. I moved outside and Joe followed me when down the hall suddenly the disgusting guy that was eyeing me this weird way showed up. He turned our way his eyes narrowed and I swallowed thickly.

I breathed deeply in and out and gave Joe a small nod, hoping she would get it. “Excuse me” I said and Joe opened her eyes wide, I guess she wasn’t expecting me to get the attention to us but that’s exactly what I needed.

“What are you doing there? Get back into the room.” He stormed over to us, grabbing my arm roughly and I suppressed the hurtful groan.
“That’s what we wanted to do, I mean... I wanted... but I also wanted to tell you something. I was searching for you actually. Joanne didn’t wanna tell me where you have been.” I told him, innocently battling my eyelashes at him.

He looked surprised and shook his head slightly “It was that way, right Joe? Your colleague and Joanne, didn’t wanna tell us where you were. We asked for you, didn’t they tell you this?” I asked one eyebrow lifted and his hand eased a little on my arm and Joe seemed to get my idea she nodded putting her bottom lip out in a cute pout.

“We thought about what you said, being nice to each other would get us something... so my sister and I we thought, if we wanted to play nice with someone, it was you.” Joe let her hand wander of the shirt from the guy and I saw him swallow thickly.
We had guided him back into our room, nearing the wall near the bathroom door.

“We need some distraction here, from this boring routine, you know. We need... you.” I said seductively.
And he hit the wall with his back, he looked confused around seeing where he was but I didn’t let him get any more thoughts about it.
“I could think of different things that we could be doing, you know.” I said and pushed myself against his chest, I tried to suppress the urge to get away from him as quickly as I could. We had to settles this and that meant to get the deed done.

Just when he was about to put his hand on my waist I moved away from him with a playful smile.
Joe stood a little of to the side, also smiling at the man with a wink.
When he got after me I walked over to the open bathroom door and motioned Joe with my hand over to follow me.

When the guy was close enough to the open door I stopped and he nearly bumped into me, he had a huge grin on his face, as if he nearly achieved his goal and when he was distracted enough, I pushed him with all my might into the bathroom and quickly shut the door, we didn’t have a key, but I let Joe hand me a chair so we put it underneath the handle and before we could think any further of it we went out of the room, one guy down... how many more to go?!

The long corridor was waiting for us, empty as a sea after a shark warning. This felt wrong, it was too good to be true, but the temptation of the large oak door was too big. The oak door that had a family crest carved in, a bird with its wings spread wide.
I grabbed my sister’s hand and ran for the door, opening it carefully. I didn’t want to give us away to what was behind it, but I was eager to get out, and I was convinced that whatever was behind door number 1… My sister and I would be able to take care of it.

As soon as the door was fully opened, my eyes shot open wide at what was behind it… It couldn’t be, could it? My mind had to play tricks on me. Something I wanted this bad, really happening?

Matt’s POV
It wasn’t long after I let Brian and Arin in the house, Brian opened the door on us. A wide smiling Arin popping up behind him.
“That was fucking easy.” He whispered “I haven’t seen an alarm this amateurish in a long time. Maybe we should offer our services Matt” He winked at me and I couldn’t suppress a smirk. How weird it may sound, this fooling around was helping me relieve the stress a little.

We waited for Johnny and Zack to come into sight and join us. I signaled Brian and Zack to take a look upstairs, while we searched the downstairs. We moved through the house, as silent as we could, pushing ourselves to every wall, peeking around the corners to check what was waiting for us behind it.
It wasn´t long before Zack and Brian joined us downstairs again.
“There is nothing upstairs, enough rooms to accommodate us all, but it is deserted. Very strange” Brian reported back to us. The house seemed completely empty and we were stunned by that. The other guys were shooting me looks, not knowing how to handle this all, we all thought we would get a little more resistance.

It was weird, if you abducted two girls, willing to keep them with you against their will, you should have secured the place a little better, at least, that was my guess… And we were able to crack the security system, just like that, didn’t run into anyone here in the house, very strange… That made me wonder. What if we were wrong, what if the girls weren’t really here, what if we just on a wild goose chase here?

We were heading for the back of the house, hoping we could find the room we hadn’t been able to identify. Fact was, based on the blueprints we saw of the house, there was probably a lot more ground to cover, and not finding any obstacles on our way this far…. It had to mean we would find them as we got closer to that specific room.

“Look” Brian whispered, pointing to the door ahead of us. It was a large oak door, it had a family crest carved into it. A bird spreading it’s wings wide…. The others saw what I saw and Arin broke the silence.
“Must be the Crowly family crest. I haven’t seen doors like this in the house, must be something important behind it. Shall we check it out?”
“Of course we will” Brian stepped forward and carefully opened the door.

My breath stopped in the back of my throat when I saw what revealed itself.

Notes
