Say You'll Haunt Me *ON HOLD*

Something's Always Wrong

Emilia’s POV

“Are you guys ready?!” I said with a squeal, jumping up and down on the spot.

“Yes, let’s do this!”

We walked out of our dressing room, meeting up with Avenged Sevenfold and Five Finger Death Punch in the process. “You girls are looking almighty fine!” Jimmy screamed as he swept Selena up in his arms and spun her around. “Especially you Miss Mason.”

She let out a giggle and hugged him. “Girls, you’re up in a few minutes,” Tash said, walking over with a clipboard in hand.

I smiled and took the clipboard from her hands. “This is your set list for the night. I chose songs that don’t include me since I have a lot of shit to organise tonight.”

I nodded and sent her a smile. I could tell she was worried about everything but I knew we’d be fine. “Don’t worry Tash. We’ll do fine. You’ve got this honey.”

“I’ll tell you what Tash, I’ll get my man Dan to give you a hand with whatever you need help with. Plus, you have Larry to help as well,” Matt spoke, walking over and wrapping an arm around my shoulders.

Tash smiled. “Thanks, Matt, that would really help. I feel like I’m in way over my head so it’s pretty overwhelming.”

“It’s no worries, Tash. You’ll get it down pat in no time.”

She giggled. “Thanks for the vote of confidence.”

“Alright, let’s go. We’re up,” Zara said, grabbing her microphone.

I nodded and walked over to where my guitar was situated and grabbed it, slipping it over my shoulders.

“Nice choice in guitar,” I heard a voice behind me say.

I smiled and turned around, seeing Brian standing there with a smirk. “Well, when a certain guitarist came out with his own custom guitar line in different colours. I just had to have the purple and green one,” I replied with a shrug.

He chuckled and moved some hair from my face. “After the show, we’ll grab a drink, just the two of us. How does that sound?”

I nodded. “Sounds like a plan,” I smirked, pressing a kiss to his cheek. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go put on a show.”

Brian smiled and stepped away, watching me walk away. I followed the girls out onto the stage and got in position. “What’s up LA?!” Zara yelled through the microphone.

The crowd cheered in response before beginning to chant ‘Sevenfold’. I frowned and watched Zara shake her head. “Okay look, you’ll get Avenged in about half an hour but for now, you have us and if you don’t like that, then you can sit there and shut up. Now, let’s get this show on the road. Girls, give me a beat!”

The girls and I started the intro to ‘Mz. Hyde’ and the crowd started to get into it, which put my mind at ease and gave me more confidence to move around the stage.

‘In the daylight,
I’m your sweetheart,
Your goody-two-shoes prude is a work of art.
But you don’t know me,
And soon you won’t forget,
Bad as can be, yeah you know I’m not so innocent.’

Zara walked across to the stage and put an arm on my shoulder, as she sung the pre-chorus before moving closer to the edge of the stage. I caught Selena’s attention and sent her a large smile as Evie and us joined in for the backing vocals for the chorus.

‘Welcome to the nightmare in my head,
(Oh god!)
Say hello to something scary,
The monster in your bed,
(Oh god!)
Just give in and you won’t be sorry,
Welcome to my other side,
Hello, it’s Mz. Hyde!’

Soon the song ended and we moved right into ‘I Miss the Misery’. This was one of my favourite songs to perform live.

I’ve been a mess since you stayed,
I’ve been a wreck since you changed,
Don’t let me get in your way,
I miss the lies and the pain,
The fights that keep us awake-ake-ake
I’m telling you!’

Zara put a lot of effort into every song but this song she put more energy in. I walked over to Evie and smiled, strumming the guitar as I bobbed my head along to the drums. I could hear cheering coming from the side stage and found my dad and all my uncles, plus Avenged Sevenfold cheering us on. I almost messed up my riff when I caught sight of Jimmy, jumping around, screaming his head off as he basically fangirled over Selena.

‘I miss the bad things,
The way you hate me,
I miss the screaming,
The way you blame me!
Miss the phone calls,
When it’s your fault,
I miss the late nights,
Don’t miss you at all!
I like the kick in the face,
And the things you do to me!
I love the way that it hurts!
I don’t miss you, I miss the misery!’

Soon our set was almost over and we had one more song to perform. “This is our last song of the night. You guys have been awesome as fuck for us tonight and we appreciate it, even if you did give us a little bit of a hard time at the start,” Zara said with a laugh. “Anyways, this is ‘Freak Like Me’, so guys if you’re a freak like me, sing along!”

Veronika began to bang her drums and we joined in as Zara started to sing.

‘I’m on the train that’s pullin’ the sick and twisted,
Makin’ the most of the ride before we get arrested,
We’re all wasted,
And we’re not going home tonight.’

Brian caught my attention and sent me a wink. I smiled and turned on my heel walking over to the corner of the stage near Selena, shaking my ass in the process. I looked over my shoulder and returned his wink. Oooh, the things I’d do to that man.

‘Covered in black we lack the social graces,
Just like an animal we crawl out of our cages,
They can’t tame us,
So if you’re one of us, get on the bus!’

Zara jumped on the spot and kicked the air as she got up to the chorus, singing toward the crowd and motioning for them to join in.

‘If you’re a freak like me,
Wave your flag!
If you’re a freak like me,
Get off your ass!
It’s our time now,
To let it all hang out.’

‘So, shout if you’re a freak like me,
You were born to burn,
This is no disease you don’t need a cure!
It’s our time now to come out!
If you’re a freak like me!
If you’re a freak like me!’

The second verse started and I moved back to the microphone to join in for the backing vocals.

‘We’re underground but we will not surrender,
We’re gonna give them something to remember, yeah,
So write your name in gasoline,
And set that shit on fire!’

Before long, the bridge was coming up and Zara climbed up on one of the metal tables that were put there for us to stand on and sung her ass out.

‘If you’re a freak like me
If you’re a freak like me
Are you a freak like me?
Are you a freak, like, me?!’

Her vocals blew me away and the range that girl had was fucking unreal. Evie and I joined Zara up on the metal table and began our duel guitar solo. I loved it when we had our guitar duels. We were literally like a female version of Zacky Vengeance and Synyster Gates but in reverse. I was the left-handed lead guitarist, while Evie was the right-handed rhythm guitarist.

Finally, our set was over and we said our thanks and goodnights to the crowd before introducing Avenged to the stage. Running off the stage, I took my guitar off and gave Brian a kiss on the cheek for good luck, before watching the boys have their turn on stage. “Wow, that was fucking amazing!” Evie said, grabbing a towel and wiping her face.

I nodded in agreement and fell back in a chair, averting my attention back to the boys. They were opening with ‘Critical Acclaim’, one of my all-time favourite songs of theirs. “They look so goddamn good up there,” Roni muttered, as she watched Zacky play his heart out. “Don’t you guys agree?”

All of us nodded, except Evie. She just walked off toward the dressing room. “Where are, you going?” Selena asked.

“To have a shower, I don’t need to be there to watch them.”

Selena let out a sigh and grabbed a water bottle, taking a seat beside Roni. “What the hell is her problem? She’s been like this for a whole week. Will someone please feel me in?”

“She and Johnny got into a huge fight because he was still texting other girls after he told Evie he wanted to get to know her.”

Selena scoffed. “I can just see this tour going downhill for sure,” she muttered, standing up from her seat and walking off down the hallway.

Chapter Title Credit: Predictable - Good Charlotte

I have already written chapter 13 so I may post that later tonight or something. I'm not sure. But in chapter 13, I will say you guys are in for a big one ;) I had a lot of fun writing it and it's also THE LONGEST chapter I've written for SYHM at 2,523 words. It has one of my favourite endings. *sinister smile appears on my face while having an evil chuckle*

Songs used were Mz. Hyde, I Miss The Misery and Freak Like Me by Halestorm.

Comment your thoughts my loves x

PS: What do you guys think of the new banner I made for SYHM? I got bored with the old one.
