After All That We've Been Through

Kady's POV

I squinted into the distance as the flashlight blinded me and Brian. I blocked the light with my hand and looked from Brian to the intruder. He shrugged and took his arm off my shoulder. As I slowly pulled away, I could distinctly make out blonde hair and I let out a small sigh of relief.

"Ryn? Is that you?" I asked, standing up and moving towards the light.

"You bet your ass it is," she said with a slight pose, eyeing me and Brian with a wicked smirk."But I came with Marley to find you. You're lucky he is looking at the lower level."

My heart stopped in my chest at Ryns words. I could only imagine what Marley would say or do if he saw Brian and I together. I know he would be pissed, specially since I never said anything to him after our kiss. He would be furious to see me with another guy. But how was I supposed to know he had feelings for me until now? Ugh, my life was one big cluster fuck after another.

"He was worried about you after your fight with Caleb," Ryn continued. "But should I say you're not up here?" She looked between Brian and I and wagged her eyebrows.

"No, I have to get going anyway," Brian said, giving my hand one last squeeze before getting up. He gave a small smile and headed out the back exit. "See you around, and thanks for the smoke," he said with a wave. I couldn't help but watch him walk away, he was just so damn sexy.

Once Syn was out of sight, Ryn turned to me and gave me a knowing smile. "So what was that about there being nothing between you two? That kiss didn't look like nothing to me." Ryn put her hands on her hips and waited for me to respond.

"Okay fine, but you can't say anything....to anyone!" I urged, grabbing Ryn by the arm and pulling her into the corner so no one could see us. "Specially since I don't know what that is." I gestured between me and the direction that Brian had gone.

Ryn squealed at my words and clapped and I covered her mouth with my hand. "Shh, Marley could hear and that situation is way to complicated to open up that can of worms right now."

"What are you talking about?" Ryn asked with a furred brow. "I thought Marley was your best friend."

"Yeah well so did I," I sighed, sinking down on the wall slightly. "That is until he kissed me earlier today and then Syn kissed me tonight....I just don't know..." I put my head in my hands as Ryn kneeled down next to me.

"Sucks to be the hottie everyone is pinning after," she said with a smile pulling at her lips. "Told you my new look would work!"

I gave Ryn a pointed look and she laughed musically. "Alright, alright, but did you feel anything? I mean, I've heard Syn is amazing but did one kiss tell you more than the other?"

Just as I opened my mouth to tell Ryn about Brian's amazing kiss, a loud band echoed from the stairwell to our left. We both turned to look, standing up slowly. The loud band erupted again followed by a voice yelling, "WHERE THE HELL IS SHE?"

"Shit, Syn went that way," I gasped before racing down the hall and stairs. I was shocked by what I saw next. Ryn gasped when she stopped next to me.

Marley had Brian pinned to the wall and had his fists balled. "Why the hell are you around every time I go to look for Kady?" Marley growled.

Brian smirked, not really phased by Marley's outburst. I could see his black eye starting to peak out from underneath the makeup from the show. He looked very calm and almost bored by Marley's actions.

"I think someone's jealous," Brian said casually with the same smirk on his lips. Marley slammed Brian to the wall again before getting in Brian's face.

"Why the hell would I be jealous of you? You're a washed up old dinosaur who's career is on the outs," Marley hissed, his face inches from Brian's. You could cut the tension in the room with a knife.

I watched with a dropped jaw as Brian pushed Marley off of him and turned down the hall. "Then what are you so worried about?"

"Just stay the hell away from her," Marley yelled after him.

"Well somebody is a tad possessive," Ryn muttered to me just as Brian flipped Marley the bird.

I quickly wiped away my shocked and terrified expression. "Marley, what the hell?" I yelled down the stairs as he started after Brian.

Marley whipped around to look at me with a concerned look on his face. His eyes met mine and I instantly knew I was more confused than ever. What the hell was I going to do? I couldn't crush my best friend when I didn't know if there was anything there and I didn't even know if Brian actually liked me. Hell I didn't even really know how I felt about either of them. Why was my life like a twisted merry-go-round of shit?

The walk back to the tour bus was a blur and the only thing that pulled me back was Marley taking my hand. "I'm sorry..." He said softly, not looking at me.

I shrugged, not really sure how I felt about anything. He pulled me in for a hug and kissed my head before he continued, "listen about earlier, I-I--"

"You know what, I'm really tired and I should be getting to bed," I said, forcing a yawn and pulling away from Marley. I quickly fled to the master suite, dove into the bed, covered my head with a pillow, and screamed.

"He that bad of a kisser?" A voice chuckled from the doorway.
