Best of Friends

"That's not a good idea," I sighed, standing up from the stool I sat on.
"Why not? Come on, Kim, you're amazing!" Matt exclaimed, putting his hands on my shoulders.
I gently slid away from his touch, "I have extreme stage fright, Matt, I can't do it." I walked past him and ran a hand through my hair, "That's why I love working behind the scenes, no one sees me."
"Well, you're going to be in the interview today," He announced, taking my hand.
I choked on my own spit, "Excuse me?" I looked down at our hands, intertwined and smiled, "Okay, but I'm singing with anyone."
Matt rolled his eyes at my stubbornness, "Whatever, Kimmy."

The interviewer and the camera man walked in checking the place out as me and Matt made our way into the main lounge room of the recording studio.
"Well, hello!" The woman exclaimed, looking at Matt, "How are you doing my lovely?" She asked, her voice was high pitched it kind of made me sick.
"Hey Linda." Matt acknowledged her before leading me over to the couch and making me sit down. He then kissed me on the forehead and brushed my hair back away from my face.
"Oh? Do we have a thing going on here?" Linda asked, motioning the camera man to take a shot of us. I squinted as the flash went off and looked down.
"Let's get the guys in here, shall we?" Matt ignored her, and yelled for the others before sitting down on the couch next to me. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me up against him.
I cuddled up to his chest and tried to ignore the camera peering into my face, I stared out the window and waited for the interview to start.
"And we're on in three, two, one, Hello my name is Linda Schultz and I am here with Avenged Sevenfold!" Linda said into the camera, she turned to us and began to ask the guys questions mostly about the tour they have coming up, after answering those questions, Linda turned to Matt specifically, "So Matt, who is this little flower sitting next to here?" She looked at me and then back to Matt.
Matt cleared his throat before answering, "This tough little flower I have here next to me is my best friend and girlfriend, Kimberlee." Matt kissed the side of my head and smiled into the camera. I blushed and smiled down at my lap.
"That's adorable, so it's definitely official?" She asked writing things down in her notebook.
Matt looked down at me, his eye shining, "Yeah it is."

I was so happy when the interview was over, that Linda woman was getting on my nerves, there was just something about her that I didn't like. She wasn't like the other interviewers, happy and upbeat. Like Bryan Stars, I smiled to myself as I thought of my good friend Bryan.
"What are you smiling at?" Matt asked, smiling at me as we walked back to the car. "I was thinking about Bryan Stars," I answered, grabbing his hand and intertwining our fingers.
"Oh?: He said, opening the car door for me.
"Yeah, he's one of my favorite interviewers, when was the last time you guys had an interview with him?" I asked, getting in. He shut the door before answering and got into the driver's side.
"I don't know, I don't go to a lot of the interviews." He answered, turning the key.
"Oh yeah that's true." I laughed and watched the passing trees as we drove home.

Matt's birthday was getting closer and closer and I still haven't finished the video. I needed to start editing it. I sat in my bedroom with my laptop sitting in front of me.
I picked up my camcorder and played the footage, laughing at all the jokes and rough housing the guys said and did.
A soft knock came at the door, I quickly shoved everything under my bed I went and opened the door. Matt stood there with Chinese food, "Aren't you coming down to eat?" He asked, his mouth full of food.
I chuckled, "Yes, messy, I'll be there in a second." I laughed as he leaned in giving me a kissy face, rice at the edge of his mouth. I kissed him anyway and told him I'd be down in a second.
I shut the door and leaned against it. I had to talk to the guys about a surprise birthday party. I wanted it to be elegant. I wanted nice clothes and nice music. Champagne and appetizers, Matt deserved all of it.
Finally after making sure everything was put up properly, I went down to eat chinese food with my best friends.
