Best of Friends

Chapter One

I grunted as I shimmied my jeans on over my hips. Matt, you douche, you dashed my jeans wrong and now they don't fit. I sighed, eventually giving up and putting different jeans on.
I walked downstairs to the kitchen and noticed the girl sitting at the dining room table. She gave me a dirty look, "Who are you and what are you doing in Matt's house?"
I laughed, "Honey, one, I am Matt's best friend, two this is my house and three, who the hell do you think you are that makes you think you can sit at my dining room table. I saw that she was wearing one of Matt's shirts.
She just got snottier, "I'm Matt's girlfriend." She snorted, crossing her arms.
"Dear heart, I hate to break it to you but Matt doesn't have girlfriends, he has whore he brings home to fuck. Don't worry, you'll be gone by tomorrow." I said, opening the fridge, finding nothing, "I see you and him ate all the food." I mumbled, pulling out some orange juice.
Matt suddenly came walking down the stairs in a bath towel, "Good morning." He said to the girl. He turned and saw me at the fridge and jumped, "Jesus, Kim, I thought you spent the night at Brian's house."
I smiled sarcastically, "Surprise." I took a swing out of the container.
"Ew, that's disgusting." The girl fake gagged. I took a deep breath so I wouldn't jump across the table and knock her out.
"Uh, April, why don't you go upstairs to my bedroom? I'll be up in a minute." Matt suggested pointedly at her.
She frowned and stood up before walking out of the room. "Who the fuck is that?" I hissed at Matt who walked over to me, taking the orange juice out of my hand because I was beginning to crush it.
"Just a girl I met last night, why are you so pissed?" He asked, setting the orange juice on the counter.
I glared at him, "Oh, I'm sorry, it's just I don't appreciate a little bitch acting as if she owns my home and she can just act like a complete asshole to me." I apologized sarcastically.
Matt sighed and ran a hand over his face, "I'm sorry she did that,"
"I want her out." I stated, slamming the fridge door shut and walking into the living room.
"Okay, she's out, just don't be mad at me." He said, following me.
I sighed, "I'm not mad at you Matty." I scratched my head, "I could never be mad at you."
I knew he was smiling at me, "Good, because I just wouldn't be able to live with myself." He laughed and rubbed my shoulders.
"Whatever, Sanders." I smiled and shook my head, brushing him off.
He went back upstairs and before long the girl came stomping down the stairs in a pair of stilettos and a mini skirt. Her shirt was pretty much non existent.
I smiled snidely at her as she glared at me slamming the door behind her.
I don't care if Matty had a girlfriend, or even a one night stand but the will not, under any circumstances, treat me like shit.
Matty came down later in jeans and plopped himself on the couch, "What time do we have to be at the studio?" He asked, watching me pace in front of him.
"2:30." I said, biting a finger.
"What's the matter?" He asked, his eyebrows furrowing.
"Well, my sister's wedding is Friday. I have to go dress shopping." I said. sitting down on the couch next to him.
I glanced at him, Matty and the guys were my best friends, I've known them since freshman year of high school. I've always helped them with their music career and management. I wasn't their manager but I had a lot of authority over what goes on. Now they're a famous band, and I loved that I was a part of it .
"Well, then go dress shopping." He said, "I can't believe she actually wants you to go."
I nodded, my sister and I were never really close. She was everything a parent wanted in a child. I was the odd one, the one who listened to punk rock and heavy metal. I was the one that was left out.
Matt laid his head on my lap, "You could always ditch." He said, absentmindedly picking at the tear on my jeans.
I shook my head, "I'm not going to do that. I don't hate her. We just don't get along."
"Well, the guys and I are invited too, surprisingly." He said, looking up at me.
I smiled, "That's because I said I would only go if you were invited."
"Nice," He laughed, slapping my knee, "Com on, let's get ready."

It took us about thirty minutes to get to the studio from my house. The guys were already there by the time we made it. It was Jimmy's turn to record his playing, and we all know he's amazing.
I pulled into a parking spot and turned my mustang off, "Alright, let's go." I sighed, grabbing my purse from the back seat.
Matt stretched after he got out and began to walk to the front door. I took my time and slowly made my way there as well. I was a little nervous about my sister's wedding, I couldn't care less about what they thought of me but I did care what the guys thought of me. They're my best friends. I can't have my family making jokes about them and the way lived life. Just thinking about someone hurting the boys pissed me off.
"Kimmy? You coming?" Matty called, I looked up and saw that he had stopped to wait for me.
I noticed that I had stopped walking and was staring at the ground in thought, "Uh, yeah, sorry." I mumbled catching up to him and we made our way inside.
Inside the rest of the guys were goofing off with each other noticing as Matty and walked in.
I immediately jumped up on Brian's back, "Argh!" He faked hurt and slowly fell to the ground with me still on him.
I laughed and began to tickle his sides, His eyes grew wide, "Kim! No! Kimberlee I don't want to be tickled!" Brian laughed, pushing me off of him onto the ground.
"Oh, Bri, you're no fun" I pouted, crossing my arms across my chest.
"Am too. I just don't like to be tickled." He laughed, picking me up bridal style.
"Whatever floats your boat Bri." I giggled as he tossed me onto the couch.
"Stay." He demanded, smiling.
I scoffed, "You actually think I'm going to stay? Someone's got to teach you how to play the guitar."
Bri placed a hand over his heart, "Kim, your words hurt." I rolled my eyes and pushed past him to their manager.
"Alright, Mike, what do we have so far?"
