Dancing Girl

Katelyn POV

I wake up in the middle of the night, in Brian’s arms. This feels good, having him beside me. I don’t know how and why the hell I got up so early, I was so exhausted after those intense orgasms that hit me. I look for my phone, and it shows that it is around 5am. I try to go back to sleep but it’s useless. I pull away from Brian’s touch, go search for one of his shirts and put it over my naked body. I go by the window in Brian’s bedroom, open it and sit on the window sill. After plugging the earphones in my phone, I put on some music and start looking at the starts in the clear dark sky. One of my favourite songs came on, ‘Stay’, the cover version by 30 Seconds to Mars. I look at Brian.

I found myself struggling to think about something else than Brian. He was an attractive guy, sexy as hell and had a way with females. I still find myself question how he finds me attractive and is willing to spend time with me. I shrug my thoughts away, turn myself to look at the sky again and continue enjoying the music loud in my ears. As I am lost in the music and the nice, calm atmosphere, I feel something touching my arm which startles me.

“Shit!” I take off my earphones and look inside, to find Brian next to me.
“Hey, I didn’t mean to scare you. But I called you, you didn’t hear me because of these”, Brian tells me, holding my earphones and putting them in front of my face. I stick my tongue out at him and then smile, with an apologetic look on my face. He kisses my cheek and sits in front of me on the window sill.
“What are you doing here anyway? And what are you doing up at this hour?” he asks me, rubbing his eyes. He sure looks tired.
“I couldn’t sleep, so I thought I sit here, enjoy the view and just relax for a bit”.
“Hmmmm”
“What?” I smirk at him.
“Nothing”, he glares his sexy smile of his.
“You want to talk about something? Or you want to go back to sleep?” I ask him, all concerned.
“Nope. I’m fine with just relaxing with you in quiet”, he says. He pulls my legs to rest mine on top of his and starts rubbing them. This feels so good.
“What were you listening to anyway? Was it a band?” he asks, all interested.
“Oh, yeah, 30 Seconds to Mars. One of my favourite bands, totally love them”. I realise I’m fangirling right now so I limit my excitement, not to make a fool out of myself in front of a handsome guy.
“Yeah they’re cool. I met them a couple of times, like their music as well”.
“You met them?!” I jump from my place, almost forgetting that right now I’m on a window sill.
“Yeah, no big deal. I mean I meet a lot of other bands regularly”. He looks at me and realizes that I’m astonished. “Oh right, because I haven’t told you yet. I’m in a band, Avenged Sevenfold, with Matt, Zacky, Johnny and Arin”.
“Are you for real?! You’re shitting me right now!” I can’t believe him, how come I haven’t seen his face before?
“For real. Let me get something, wait here”.

As he leaves the room, I try to make sense of the situation. He’s in a band. Yes, I have heard of Avenged Sevenfold but I never actually listened to their music and never went to any of their concerts. I see him coming back to the room, with a guitar and some other things in his hand.
“So, this is my beloved guitar, a Schecter as you can see. This is our symbol, the deathbat. And this, ‘SYN’, is for my stage name – Synyster Gates”.
I bring up one finger to his lips to stop him from talking, “Wait! You’re the famous Synyster Gates? I have heard that you’re too good in playing the guitar. You’re like a guitar genius or something, always inventing new, cool riffs for the songs.” I smirk at him, “And I have heard you are quite skillful when it comes to your fingers and fast notes”.
“Well, I can always do better, you know. But yeah, you have no idea what I can do with these fingers. One day I will show you, and not on a guitar, but using your body instead”. I can feel myself getting aroused at this thought. Most probably he noticed this, as he approaches me slowly, brushing his lips to mine. I lean forward to meet his lips, but he smiles that sexy smile and move back. What a tease!

He then showed me some photo albums of the band along the years and some shirts they have created. He also brought the albums they have produced during the years. He explained to me that right now they’re on break after a long tour, and once they feel ready they will start recording another album.
“Wow, I do believe you then. But damn, I feel bad, not knowing any of your songs!”.
“Yeah, in fact my heart is crushed!” he puts his hand on his heart, looking at me with puppy eyes. “You can always start being a fan from now onwards”, he winks at me.
“Can you play me something? Anything, but which is of your band obviously”.
“Sure”, he grabs the guitar, “This is called ‘Seize the Day’. I will play my part, then I’ll grab the album and play it to hear the actual song. Cool with that?”
I nod at his request. He starts playing the guitar and I cannot find any words to describe what I’m feeling and to say how good he actually is. He seems to be lost in the music, closing his eyes and every note coming from his core. I find myself swaying to his music, he looks at me and smiles, and continues playing the song. Once he was finished, we listened to the song. The music with the lyrics, damn too much beauty to my ears. I can’t have enough of the song.


Brian POV

I’m glad that Katelyn is liking our music, and it feels good playing the guitar in front of her. She looked so sweet, swaying with the music. I have to say, she has good taste. I make her listen to Seize the Day, lots of girls happen to like this song. I remember Matt wrote it to dedicate it to his girlfriend at the time, Val. Sometimes I think that he still hasn’t recovered from the break-up. He needs to lighten up and move on.
We stay up longer than expected. She was eager to listen to our songs, it was too cute to see her all excited. We stayed up, watching the sunrise together while she was resting her head on my chest humming to seize the day. She sure catches the tune of a song real quick, that it made me actually chuckle.

“What is it?” she asks me softly.
“Nothing. I like hearing you hum to one of my songs. I really do”. She faces me and kisses me softly on my lips. She gets up and heads to the bathroom.

As I’m still laying down, watching the clear blue sky, I hear my phone ringing, I got a text message. Holy shit. Andrew better be joking right now. I quickly send him a text to make sure that what he had sent me isn’t true until I hear a knock on the door. My heart sunk.
I quickly get to the door while Katelyn is still in the bathroom.
“What the hell are you doing here?” I whisper, surprised to see Alexandra in front of my fucking door. What the hell does she want?
“You missed me?”, she says as she starts approaching me, leaning for a kiss.
I shrug her hands off of my shoulders. “What part of leave me alone do you not understand, huh?”
“Oh come on. You’re so hard to get, typical rock star.”, she steps in.
“Listen Alexandra, now is really not a good time”, I tell her while I look back to make sure that Katelyn is still in the bathroom.
“Is someone else here? I bet it’s another girl”, she says looking all interested.
“Listen, go away. I will text you and meet you another time. But, damn, you need to get it into your hard head of yours. There is nothing going on between the two of us. Nothing. Do I need to fucking spell it out for you?! N-O-T…” she cuts me off.
“You better be fucking kidding me right now. Of course I know, but it doesn’t mean I want to obey you, Mister Gates”.

“Obey what?”. Shit. Exactly what I’ve been dreading, to hear that voice behind me. I look back and see Katelyn with her arms crossed looking at the both of us.
“Oh nothing really. I was about to leave you guys, continue what you were doing. Nice to meet you girl-who-I-don’t-know. I’m Alexandra by the way”, she gestures for a hand shake, and Katelyn glares at her instead. She storms inside once Alexandra leaves us, and I blast the door shut. Perfect timing! Fucking perfect!

“Listen Katelyn let me explain”.
“Save it. You don’t need to explain anything to me.” She starts getting dressed into her own clothes, not looking me into my eyes.
“Wait, just give me a second!” I grab her arm and turn her around, to face me. I do not like her expression, not at all. it actually makes me feel sad. It’s the one similar to when she was still with Rick.
“There is nothing going on between me and Alexandra. I promise you that”.
“I get it. I really do. Anyways, we’re not dating or something, so you can do whatever the hell you want. But for now, I really need to get out of here”.
“Wait, that’s it?” I leave her arm as she continues getting dressed.
“What do you want me to say Brian?” she looks at me, looking crushed. She grabs her bag and slowly heads to the door. I don’t know why, but for some reason I do not stop her. She stops herself, and looks back at me.
“Now I really got the answer”.
“What is that?” I whisper, feeling guilty.
“Back at the club, when I asked you if something happened between the two of you. You weren’t clear and you didn’t let me ask you again. Well, there is no need to ask you now, this proves everything”, she says before she opens the door and closes it behind her.

My heart is telling me to go run after her and explain everything, telling her what happened and let it go. But my mind is telling me a different thing. That I should not let a girl mess with my heart another time and just let her leave.
‘Plenty of other fish in the sea’.
And so I do.
