(Love) Contract

Tara’s POV

I didn’t like seeing Brian leaving. I know he wanted to be and look strong, but I also knew he didn’t know what was to come and so he must be feeling insecure just like me.
“Don’t worry too much. Brian can look after himself.” Jason said and pulled me into his embrace.
“I know, but you don’t know John… he is… I mean… he is unpredictable in certain times. What does he want?” I asked more myself then Jason but he nodded his head.
“How about we will have a look at the situation, from a little away?” Jason asked with a small smile on his lips, so he did have a plan?!

“You know where he went? He didn’t want to tell me…” I looked at Jason with hope and he pulled his phone out.
“It’s my car, I have an App on my phone, tracking my car. My brother liked to play pranks on me and driving away with my car, leaving me with no clue where he went, so I learned from that.”
Jason phone rang and he picked up “Yo, Matt… you on your way?”
He put the phone on speaker. “Yeah, Jimmy and I are only an hour away now. You heard something from Brian? When was the meeting again?” Matt asked and he sounded concerned.
“He went away around 30 minutes ago, haven’t heard anything from him. But he took the car so he can leave whenever he wants, and he promised to stay in contact when anything happens.” Jason reassured him.

I was wondering if he would tell him that we would go after him?!
“Okay, call us when you hear anything, alright? Jimmy and Cara had an idea. We need to talk about that when we are all together and really know what that bastard wants” Matt said and I heard Jimmy mumble something, but couldn’t understand what.
“Cara and Jimmy, huh?” Jason looked at me, one eyebrow lifted and I shook my head grinning.
I knew Jimmy wouldn’t give up easily on my sister, he must have set his eyes on her and I think my sister liked him too, if she wanted to admit it or not.
And as it sounded now, they liked each other more then they led on in the last meeting.
“Yeah, don’t ask.” Matt replied and Jason chuckled.
“Okay, we will keep you updated. Until later.” Jason finished the call.
“Bye.”

“Alright, we lost enough time… but Tara, when we get there, we gonna stay outside, I don’t know if we can do anything… we just have to see, but if I get you anywhere near that guy, Brian will freaking rip my balls off and I am very attached to them, so I would appreciate you helping me keeping them.” He smiled at me and I nodded.
“Yes, I will try to do my best. Do you have any idea what Matt meant with the idea Jimmy and Cara had?” I asked and we went out of the hotel to get a cab.
Jason stopped one and shook his head at me, “I have no clue, but Jimmy’s idea is either the best or the worst possible. You know genius and insanity is sometimes really close.”

Brian’s POV

I looked at John waiting either for the first real information or that the door swung open and more people to come in and threaten me…
But for now, nothing…
“Can we come down to business? What Information do you have and what proof? Why am I here?” I asked and tried to gain control.
“Oh so eager, huh? How is Tara? She good? It was so nice to hear her voice again, I must admit I missing her a little.” John said and only him mentioning her name made my cool attitude crumble and he must know that.
“She is fine. Can we discuss business now? I am not into small talk much.” I said and he grinned even wider.
“You know what I miss most?” He continued and I grabbed the table - hard.
“I tell you – she was so good in bed, liked to experiment… and when she was high, god you could do anything with her but I guess you know that already, I think she shared this with many more men…” He looked at me waited for my reaction and I breathed deeply in and out, but that wouldn’t calm down my boiling blood.
“DON’T TALK ABOUT HER LIKE THAT!” I yelled and got into his face.

“Brian, calm down… Maybe you should really think about the fact, that the information I wanna give you… well… you won’t like as well?” John said and I closed my eyes for a second, then breathed deeply in and out again and sat back down.
“Good, now let’s talk.” John attitude changed suddenly, all playfulness gone and he got up from his seat.

“Don’t fool me now, Brian.” He walked over to a table, where a lot of different papers were scattered, he took a certain one and looked at it.
He walked back to me and threw the paper on the desk before me, I realized it was a picture.
“Look closely and tell me what you see.” John said.
I took the picture and saw John getting more of the papers, putting them all in front of me.
I already knew what I would be seeing on the picture, which didn’t prepare me for the huge pain starting in the region of my heart.

“What’s on the picture Brian?” John asked again and I clenched my teeth together.
“Tara and Matt.”
“Oh yes, so your girlfriend and your best friend right?” John made this even worse, of course.
“Right.”I growled.
“And on this one?” He tapped on another picture.
“The same.” I replied, even thought it was a different picture, it was still Tara and Matt.
“Are they kissing? Is that right?” John asked and I looked at the picture again, my heart clenching painfully.

I knew this was before Tara and I were close, this was before we talked about it all, before we really connected, like we were now… but it still hurt, seeing her in Matt’s arms, in his embrace, his lips on hers, her looking up to him with trust… and lust?!
I sighed heavily, trying to push everything away, she was with me now, John just wants us to be angry with each other, cause trouble between us.
“Now, after seeing this… and watching you. I can see pain in your expression, but I didn’t see surprise, so you knew about this?” John asked and I could try to deny it, but that wouldn’t bring me far, as I guessed.

“They told me, yes. Where did you get these pictures from? Are there more? What do you want from us?” I asked and John had an arrogant smirk on his face.
“So they had to admit to their sins, huh? Are you still a couple, or did this break you up? I mean, your best friend and girl…?” John asked and my eye twitched, this guy was really freaking me out.
“None of your business.” I thought about saying more, but I still didn’t know what this guy wanted, so every word said from my side could be too much.

“Will you finally tell me what this is about? You showed me the pictures, but that’s private a thing between my band mate and girlfriend, what do YOU want?” I asked again, getting tired of this talk.
“Well, well… what I want is easy. I want your help, don’t you think that these picture would make a great story for the press? I would definitely want to read such an article and your fans and the whole world would be interested as well, believe me.”
I cursed loudly and John laughed “So, I invited your band mate over for tomorrow. I will tell you what I want, and what will prevent me from selling these nice pictures to the press. You will have tonight to talk to him and then we will set the parameters tomorrow.”
“Do I have a choice, what is it you want?”I asked a final time.
“You will play a show, with my band. We will be your opening act, it will be shortly and you will do all the promoting, telling how good we are, you will promote us. We earned us a chance, and you will help us to break through. Easy as that, not much to ask, right?”
“Are you kidding me?” That was the only thought that crossed my mind, this guy really was insane.
