Roadtrip

Jimmy’s POV
I laid my arm around Izzie’s chair who sat next to me at breakfast and leaned a little towards her.
“Hey Iz? You got a second where we can talk… alone?” She looked at me a little astonished but nodded.
“I will get a coffee, somebody else, too?” Izzie got up and Brian nodded.
“Yeah, could you get me some.. hm.. something to eat from the buffet.” Brian said and Izzie leaned down to get a kiss from him.
I saw Brian look around when I got up and followed behind Izzie.
I turned around to see if Mia was looking my way but I only saw Brian leaning over my chair, tapping Mia on the shoulder who was in a deep conversation with Matt about action movies or something…

Izzie stopped at the buffet area so the others wouldn’t see us.
“I got a questions… hm.. do you have time.. I mean since we haven’t planned anything for today, I would like to ask you out for dinner… I need to talk to you about some things in private. I will ask Zack or Matt to stay with Mia for that time, but I need some of your input.”
Izzie grinned, “You want to talk about Mia?”
“Yes, I mean… I don’t want her to hear everything I have to say… not just yet. But I want to have your opinion to it…” I told her and saw Johnny walking towards us.
“Hey… make some space, I also want some of the food.” He tried to shove me away, but I held him on arm’s length away.
“Alright, fine with me. I will tell Brian not to plan us in for dinner…” Izzie replied and loaded food onto the plate for Brian.
“Oh guys, are you serious? You getting together behind the back of your friends? Oh Jimmy and Izzie, that really sucks… but I guess… Brian and Mia won’t care that much, I think they just made the same arrangements for tonight…” Johnny said and walked away with a grin.
“Same arrangements?” I frowned looking over at Mia and Brian nodding at each other.

Izzie’s POV
I looked into the mirror, I didn’t even know why I was making myself so pretty for tonight, but since Jimmy asked me out for dinner, I should just make myself presentable.
“Izzie? Can I come in?” I heard Mia’s voice.
“Sure, come on in.”I yelled back and a second later the bathroom door opened.
I saw Mia standing in the doorway, clothes hanging over her arms.
“What do you think you are doing there?” She asked me our eyes meeting in the mirror.
“Getting ready for my date. And what are you doing with those clothes there?” I replied with a smirk.
“What date? I am.. also getting ready for my evening company…” Mia lifted an eyebrow at me.
“Jimmy asked me out for dinner… and you?” I turned towards her and saw her staring at me.
“Wait.. you are taking my man out for dinner?” Mia asked acting surprised.
“I only had two dates with him and now you stealing him away?”
“Who are you going on the date with?” I asked her, already knowing the answer.
“Brian…”
“I only had one date with him, you equal up… that’s not fair either.” I told her with a shake of my head but a smirk, knowing that this was just fun between us.
“But look at you, you look fabulous, going out with my man!” Mia sounded scandalized.
“I don’t think I should allow you to go out with him like that.”
I shook my head at her, laughing “Stop it, silly. Come on, I will help you with your make up and let me find the best outfit for you.”

When Mia and I just had put on the finishing touch a knock sounded at the door and then another.
I grinned, “That must be our dates…”
I walked towards the door, opening up and saw Brian and Jimmy standing there shoving each other a little away so they could be first in the door.
“Wow, look at you…” Brian murmured and pulled me towards him and I saw Jimmy do the same with Mia. I pushed Brian away a little, “I am not yours tonight…”
Brian lifted an eyebrow, “Yeah right. Mia? Where are you, beautiful?”
Brian held his hand out, but when Mia wanted to put her hand in his, I saw Jimmy holding it away.
“James, stop it.” Mia complained and finally succeeded to escape him.

Brian took Mia’s hand and Jimmy held his arm out for me to hook into, we walked as four together to the foyer and saw Matt, Zack and Johnny sitting at the bar.
“What the fuck? Didn’t you guys mix something up there?” Matt asked a little confused.
Johnny just laughed, since he already knew about this.
“Mia, you are breaking my heart, I thought if you would do a partner exchange you would choose me.” Zack whined and Mia grinned at him and blew him a kiss.
“See you guys later!” Brian announced and we walked outside, that’s where our ways were parting.
Mia and Jimmy kissed a final time and I did the same with Brian, before we went into different directions. Must have looked funny for everyone watching…

The dinner with Jimmy was nice and I laughed a lot, but he didn’t mention anything he really wanted to say, so maybe I had to push him a little.
“So, Jimmy what weight can I lift of your shoulders?” I asked him.
“I.. I don’t know. You wanna get down to business now, huh?”
“That’s why we are here, right?” I grinned and was curious what Jimmy had to say.
“Fine, I love Mia. You know that, and you know that I would never hurt her, right?” Jimmy looked at me for confirmation and I nodded.
“Good, I guess I am way deeper into all this than her… at the moment… I am just afraid that she will get afraid.. or maybe get second thoughts…” He sighed loudly and he looked so cute being so worried about my best friend.
“Jimmy…” I grabbed his hand on the table squeezing lightly “She loves you. And you are good for her, I haven’t seen her this happy since a very long time and that’s all your doing. If she ever gets second thoughts I will talk to her, alright?”
He had a smile on his face looking up at me again. “Thank you, Iz. You are an amazing friend, not only for her but for me as well… I am really glad we met you two.”
He looked around and leaned a little forward “Mia told me she isn’t even living far from me… and I was thinking… if this continues as it is now… I wanted to ask her if she would… you know… just stay with me.” I widened my eyes at him.
“You mean you would want her to move in with you?” I asked a little surprised.
Jimmy sure, wasn’t somebody to waste any time but I guess that was what Mia needed, someone to be as sweet and caring as Jimmy.
“I can’t think of letting her live alone, what if that Josh guy is out of jail, I mean… I beginning to sweat right now, if I think that she could not be safe, you know…” Jimmy looked around and I squeezed his hand again.
“Jimmy, everything is fine. And I think if you will give her a little more time, she will be absolutely happy to move in with you. I will convince her anyway, if she asks for my opinion.” I grinned and saw Jimmy relax.
“Can I tell you something?” Jimmy asked finally.
“Sure, Brian is treating you differently than all the girls before. He really has feelings for you, but you gotta give him time. He is… a complicated ass.” Jimmy smirked.
“Yeah, he is…” I nodded.
“But he doesn’t always mean it like that… he is overwhelmed bout his feelings sometimes and doesn’t know how to handle it and then he backs away… believe me we took a fucking long time until he really opened up to us, you know.”
“I.. thanks Jimmy… I will keep that in mind.” I nodded and was glad that we came along so good.
“Now let’s order some dessert, what do you say?” Jimmy grinned and I nodded couldn’t help but his attitude made you smile no matter what, no wonder Mia was so happy with him.

Mia’s POV
After we said goodbye to Izzie and Jimmy, we walked the other way and found a nice place to eat. Nothing fancy, but the food was great. Being alone with Brian was a little uncomfortable and the silence between us was thick.
“This is awkward” Brian said with a smirk, saying out loud what I was thinking
I smiled “Yeah, it kinda is”
He looked at me with his big brown eyes and I could imagine him getting a lot of women with those eyes.
“Listen, even though this is kinda awkward, I felt I really needed to spend some time with you, Mia. I mean, you are Izzie’s best friend, we need to get along if Izzie and I are going to try”
“Are you really?” I couldn’t help but sound a little harsh, Izzie could have fallen for his stories, but I wasn’t too sure about it... He could tell her anything, she would believe every word coming out of his mouth, my smart friend turned brainless when he as around.
“I guess I earned that one. I really want to try, it’s new for me and it freaks me out, but I just need to be around her, the thought of her with other men makes my blood boil. After you got taken by Josh, I could only think of what would happen if Izzie got taken too, I could barely make myself let go of her, I was scared as hell. I don’t know if this is going to work out, but I really want it to”
He looked at me shyly and the cocky Brian with all the charming ways was gone, he just seem insecure.
“What about those other women?”
“I don’t want any other women when I’m around Izzie” I raised my brows at him
“I’m serious, that woman at the signing, it was me trying to get away from my feelings for Izzie, trying to be with someone else to just make myself believe this with Izzie was nothing real, but I couldn’t do it. I could only think of her, and I send the woman away, I was alone that night. I promise. If you don’t believe me, ask Matt, there was no one in my room when he came to yell at me the next morning”
“She was really hurt Brian, Izzie is a strong woman and you reduced her to tears, with only a few words. Let’s say I believe you, for the sake of discussion.... Let me tell you, I will cut your balls off with a rusty knife, if you ever hurt her again”
“I’m not planning on it” he looked me straight in my eye, making sure I saw all his intentions. Alright, he might be true, he might mean well with her.

“Just don’t hurt her, Brian, she is all I’ve got, I can’t stand to see her heart broken”
He looked at his hands, lost in thoughts before he turned towards me again.
“I have a similar request for you. Jimmy loves you more than anything in this world, he has loved and lost, but never like this, please don’t stomp on his heart when you are done with him” he said quietly.
I grabbed his hand over the table, maybe we were just the same, looking out for our best friends
“I’m not planning on it” I said, repeating his words. He smiled at me
“So, you are okay with me dating Izzie?”
“For now, but I’m keeping my eye on you Haner! Oh! And she has to be home before midnight” I joked.

After that, the ice was broken between us and we just hung out, Brian being the charming man he could be, with amazing stories about Jimmy. I shared some about Izzie too, which I don’t know she would be very happy with if she knew I told him, but oh well, nothing she could do about it anymore, huh?
“Hold on for a sec, Matt’s calling” Brian had fetched his phone out of his pocket and put his to his ear
“Yeah?.... Okay sure... Let me ask Mia....” He looked at me with expecting eyes “You wanna go clubbing?” I nodded with a smile on my face, I kinda felt like dancing “Okay, we will be right there” he ended the call with Matt and asked for the check.
As we walked out, I hooked my arm in his “Come on, let’s get you back to your girlfriend” I winked.
“Uh... I... “ he stuttered and I could see the red spots forming in his neck... Too soon for labels?
“You are such a baby, come on” I laughed, dragging him behind me.
