Roadtrip

Izzie’s POV
Now I got why Jimmy wanted me here that bad, I couldn’t believe he did it though. Everyone was holding their breaths, and I could only look at Mia. This wasn’t going to end well, I saw the panic growing in her eyes and the split second before she started to run, I knew she would.
I couldn’t stand the look on Jimmy’s face the minute Mia was out the door, it was so sad. He looked at me and then Matt did too.
“Yeah, right, I’ll go talk to her”
I opened a few doors, before I found Mia in a large supply closet, she was silently crying.
“Hey babe, have some room for me too?”

I let myself slide down the wall and sat next to her. She had her legs pulled up, her head on her knees and she was fidgeting with her hands.
“Want to tell what happened?” I put my hand on her head and softly stroke her hair. It took a few minutes, but then she looked at me.
“You saw what happened, he asked me to marry him, the idiot! We know each for not even a year! How the hell could he ask me to fucking marry him!? He is crazy!” She looked at me with big eyes, completely confused about all that just happened.
I smiled at her “Babe, you love him, you are crazy too, what’s the problem?”
“The problem is… that I thought he was going to break up with me! I thought he was sick of me! I thought he had found someone new, he was betraying me, I don´t know... I was prepared on not having him anymore at the end of the night, and now he wants to be forever? He does something like this! I can’t marry him!”
I chuckled lightly, earning myself a death sending glare.

“Let’s break this up for a bit, okay? One” I held my finger up to her. “He is not breaking up with you, how the hell could you think he would break up with you? Oh damn, I’ve been away too long” I put my arm around her and pulled her to me.
“Mia, listen to me. He loves you so much, you are one, you are not even two persons anymore, you haven’t been since the moment you met him, which brings me to point two”
I held two fingers in front of her face.
“You love him, he loves you, will you ever be able to leave him?”
She looked at me shocked and shook her head slightly
“Why are you so surprised he wants to make this official?”
“It’s too soon Izzie, It’s crazy, This is stupid”
I shook my head, I knew it was soon, but how could she even think this was stupid?

“Mia, you have to talk to him, you have to tell him your concerns, you have to, whatever you want to decide, you have to talk with him, he doesn’t deserve to be in the dark”
She gave me a careful smile and leaned to me, putting her head on my shoulder.
“Can we stay here just a little bit longer? I want be here with you for a bit, calm down”
“No problem babe, no problem at all” I kissed the top of her head and we just sat there, enjoying the silence, enjoying us being together again, but we would soon have to get out into the world again, Jimmy deserved an answer.

Brian’s POV
Mia stormed out of the room after the proposal and we all stood there in shock. I had no idea Jimmy had planned this and I was astonished about what happened.
We wanted to celebrate, this was our release party, everything went more than awesome tonight, the fans loved the new songs and we were excited to finally have it out in the open.
But this just shocked all of us…
I looked at Jimmy who still stood at the same place staring at the empty spot where Mia had been a couple of seconds ago.
“Jimmy?” I walked slowly over to him.
He didn’t react and I moved to his side, laying my arm around his shoulder but he shrugged it off.
Everybody stared at him and I didn’t like to see my friend like this, I met Matt’s eyes and he seemed helpless as well.
“Everybody out!” I called and took Jimmy over to the couch and sat him down.
“What did I do wrong? I mean…” He stood back up and began to pace the room.
“I need to.. I need to find her.. she has to.. I don’t…” Jimmy stuttered and still everybody looked at him and I went over to the door opening it and holding it open.
“EVERYBODY OUT!” I yelled and finally all of them left but Jimmy, Matt, Zack, Johnny and myself.

“Matt… what…” Jimmy looked at Matt wide eyed, normally Matt was the one to always fix things, he was the saviour but he looked as clueless as the rest of us.
“Maybe she was just surprised… she didn’t know you planned anything, right?” Matt shrugged and looked at us for support.
“Yes, you just caught her off guard.” Zacky said and Jimmy looked at him with fear in his eyes.
“What if she doesn’t love me anymore? What if she found someone new?” Jimmy asked and I shook my head.
“Bullshit and you know it, Jimmy.” I told him and the other nodded in agreement.
“Bullshit? You just saw the love of my life running away from me! RUNNING I MEAN REALLY RUNNING AWAY!!” Jimmy screamed the last part and I cringed.
“Listen, Jimmy. Mia loves you, I am sure about that, we all are sure, this must have been a huge misunderstanding. Let’s go and find her, we will clear the situation... Everything will be fine.” I told him but Jimmy just sat down on the hard floor, not even moving to the couch.

“No.” Jimmy sounded defeated... this was a shock, Jimmy never was defeated, he was the one to always believe it would work out, he was the one who would make things work, how could he think otherwise now?
“What do you mean? No?” Zack asked also astonished.
“I have to accept that, she doesn’t want me anymore. I don’t want to be a burden for her.” Jimmy said sadly and when he looked up I saw his eyes watering.
I met the eyes of Matt, Johnny and Zacky and we were all shocked, Jimmy never cried. Jimmy, never gave up... this was not right.
I breathed in deeply and crouched down next to Jimmy “Jimmy, I will say this again, she loves you and we will fix this. I won’t rest before you two are happily together again.”
Zack crouched down on his other side “I never thought of you as a quitter, Jimmy. I thought you loved her, if you really do love her you should go find her and clear this, clear the situation, Jimmy. You deserve answers.”
“I don’t want to hear that she leaves me. I cannot hear that, Zack. I just can’t.” Jimmy shook his head.
“Okay, but that doesn’t sound like you really mean it with her... Maybe I will just go and find her, maybe now it’s my time...” Zack said and moved up, before Matt or I could move, Jimmy had Zack pinned against the wall. “Don’t even fucking think about it, or I will-” Matt got between them and shoved Jimmy back, I grabbed his arm and we moved out of the room before he could do any damage to Zack, but Zack had the only way to bring Jimmy back to life.

Izzie’s POV
“I know you are right, but how can I go to him now? I don’t even know what I should say to him?” Mia looked sad and I didn’t like my best friend being sad.
I missed so much in her life during my absence that I didn’t even realize that she had some trouble, why didn’t she call me?
Why didn’t she talk to me about it?

“It’s Jimmy, he will want to see you and talk to you. You just hurt him, babe. He must think that you don´t want him. Do you realize that, babe? Do you realize that he is heartbroken right now?” I asked her and she looked at me shocked.
“I didn´t mean to... He just...” Mia stuttered and I stroked her back again.
“Tell me what made you think that he would betray you or break up with you? How could you?” I asked again and felt completely clueless.
“He was behaving so strange, he acted caught whenever I walked in, he just wasn´t the Jimmy I have been together with... Normally I know him like the back of my hand, I can read his face, I know what he is thinking but the last week everything changed, honey.”

I shook my head “Don´t you see, Mia? He prepared this, he was planning on asking you. That is why he called me and made me come. Babe, he loves you more than anything. But if you are still not convinced, please go to him and talk this out. Even if you think that something is still wrong, which I can’t believe, go talk to him. I don´t know why you are hesitating?”
Mia sighed and looked at me again “What if we can’t fix this? What if he doesn´t understand?”
“He will... you have to talk to him and have faith in Jimmy, he will explain everything, Mia you can fix this, don´t give up just because he was acting a little strange. Tell him why you were confused, tell him what you thought. He will make you understand what really happened. And then you have to talk to him and find out how you will continue...” I told her but hoped she knew that there was only one way for them...
Mia nodded “That’s why I need you around, Iz. Because you have to set me straight when I am not thinking clearly. I love you, you know that, right?”
Mia hugged me a final time and I grabbed her hand, afraid she would bolt again and we moved out in the corridor walking back into the direction of the dressing room when we saw Brian and Jimmy standing outside of the door.

Brian´s POV
Jimmy and I were outside of the room with the two of us now. He was fuming about the things Zack said, but the life was back in him finally.
“Jimmy, listen to me” I tried carefully, but no reaction. “JIMMY, shut the fuck up!” I yelled, making him look at me in confusion.
“Apparently you still care for her a lot, don’t let go of her yet, talk to her first”
“What if she leaves me, Brian?” he was barely audible now
“She won’t, you were very much in love before the proposal, why would she fall out of love the next minute? It’s ridiculous to think she doesn’t love you anymore, you might have scared her, hell, I would have been scared if I was asked to be married after such a short amount of time!”
He just shrugged, but I could see he was more open to what I was saying now.
“James, you and Mia are something else, you guys are the biggest love story of our time. You are my hope in lonely days, I’m sure she still wants to be with you, maybe not as your fiancée right now, but somewhere in the future... Just don’t let go yet”
His blue eyes were staring at me “I missed you Brian. You’ve been absent for too long, I mean, I know you was physically there, but I’m happy you are fully back now”
“I know. I’m sorry. Now come on... Let’s find your girlfriend and talk to her”

I clapped Jimmy’s shoulder softly and guided him down the hall, only noticing then that the girls were already heading to us. My stomach turned around when I saw Izzie looking up at us, but this wasn’t about me. This was about getting Jimmy and Mia back together, or at least talking.
We stood awkwardly in front of each other and Izzie and I were both looking at Jimmy and Mia, trying to figure out what they were about to do next.
“Hey” Jimmy started carefully
“Hey” Mia replied, looking at him shyly “I think we should talk James”
“I think so too, find some privacy?”
She nodded and they turned away from us, walking down the corridor.

Izzie’s POV
We watched Jimmy and Mia walk away together, Jimmy shyly getting a hold of Mia´s hand. I turned towards Brian again, not really knowing what to say.
“Why did you…” He started, but a tall blonde came rushing over and interrupted him, putting her hand on Brian’s arm, kissing his cheek.
“Brian! Sweetie! Are you okay? You were amazing tonight!”
I looked at them, him looking a little uncomfortable and her just smiling at me, expectantly. I put out my hand “Izzie, nice to meet you”
“Oh Izzie, I heard a lot about you” her voice was full of contempt and I could hardly make myself look at Brian. He took her hand of his arm and told her he would be right there, and I watched her leave. He stared at me, opening and closing his mouth again. I sighed, this was about to happen, it was my own fucking fault. I needed to get out of here.
“So you found someone new? I’m really happy for you two” I forced a smile on my face “I have to go, bye Brian”
I turned around and walked for the door, this party was over for me. I thought I heard him say my name, but I couldn’t make myself to turn around again. This was over, it was my own doing and now I had to live with it. Maybe we could be friends someday, we would have to when everything between Mia and Jimmy would work out, but for now I only wanted to cry, listen to sad music and eat loads of chocolate.

The roadtrip had been amazing, we made some great friends, maybe even found true love, but the feeling I had while we were away was definitely gone now.

So that was it, the ending of our story. We wanted to do something differently and decided on not giving this one an obvious happy end. You can decide.... Let the story live on in your head and determine how it continues, yourselves... We will not be writing it :-)
