Roadtrip

Matt’s POV
Everything seemed to go in slow motion, from the minute that door had opened. The two female legs coming out of the car, the body I had dreamed of in the past few months, and the face that wasn’t smiling at me like I would have hoped for, but shot me an angry glare before smiling widely at Mia.

“TAMMY!!” Mia ran over to Tammy, hugging her close for a second and then looking into the car frantically “Did you come alone? Where is Izzie?” Tammy’s face went from happy to sad in a split second “She moved on, Mia, she send me to get your car here as a surprise, but that is all I got... Oh, and she told me to hand you this... She even sealed it so I couldn’t read” Mia got the note and started to read. I tried to look over her shoulder, but she turned away from me, making it impossible for me to look over her shoulder.
That’s why Izzie didn’t give me any clue where she was, if I had known she was with Tammy, I could have found her!

I looked at Tammy and she stared at me “Well, are you going to fucking say hello, Sanders?” She had her hands on her hips and looked at me as if she was certain she could take me on in a fight. I regained my posture and confidence and walked over, standing real close, towering over her
“Hi” I smiled widely, letting my dimples show full throttle, couldn’t hurt right, it did the trick the first time.
“Don’t you flash those dimples at me!” she looked angry “Are we ever getting past the whole sexting phase and take this to another level, or am I better off taking the first plane back home” I heard a chuckle next to me and looked at Mia, who was staring at us with wide eyes and then started laughing loudly “Really Matt? Sexting?”
I shot Mia an annoyed glare “Don’t you have somewhere else to be?”
“Nah” Mia got comfortable looking at Tammy and I. Tammy grinned and winked at Mia, why the hell were they teaming up on me?
“Okay, I will have my fun later. I’m going to tell Jimmy about the sexting” She smiled widely and headed back for the studio
“Mia!” I called after her, but she was already gone, damnit!
All thoughts of stopping Mia left my head when Tammy pushed her body to mine and I looked at her again. Before I knew what was happening she had pulled my head down and kissed me, taking over my mouth the second I gave her an opening. I put my arms around her waist and lifted her off her feet. After a bit she sighed contently
“That’s much better.” She smiled
“Be honest Matt, I’m not playing around, was this just a one night stand or are we going to try to let it be more. Just tell me, am I staying or am I going?”
I didn’t answer her, but grabbed her hand and dragged her to the studio. I denied myself fun for way too long, we should see where this could go.

Jimmy’s POV
“Guys! Listen up! Do you even know your bandmates? I mean! Come on, Matt was sexting Tammy!” Mia walked back into the studio, announcing what she must have found out.
“What? He was just now? And he let you read?” Zack got way too excited and walked over to Mia. “No! Iew! No! Tammy told me” I looked over at Mia’s happy face “Did you just say Tammy told you? You called her?"
"She's here" Mia smiled "Tammy is here? Did...?” I looked at her expectantly, wanting to ask if Izzie came back with her, but I saw Brian coming out of the piano room in the corner of my eye and decided against it. Mia got where I was going anyway and just shook her head slightly. I bridged the distance that was between me and her and pulled her in my arms, I knew she was disappointed Izzie didn’t come back with Tammy, I knew exactly what was going on in that pretty head of hers and I knew that was why she loved me, I knew her through and through, like she could see right through me. “Tammy brought a note for me, it’s weird to see Izzie’s handwriting, I don’t know...” she said softly and let her sentence trail. “Can I see?” I took the note from her and I let a smile come over my face, I knew that must have been the same feeling Mia had when she first got her hands on the note.

Hey babe,
I hope you like your surprise, I told Tammy to get your car, because I know you love it. Maybe you can think of all the nice times we had in this car, and think about me once in a while. Speaking about Tammy, if my big brother goes in one of his stubborn moods, could you please push him in the right direction? Tammy really likes him, but this is his last chance. He will regret it if he doesn’t take it, please help him, okay?

Babe, I will try to talk to you more often, I promise, but don’t make me come back yet, please? I just can’t. I miss you Mia, I miss my best friend, I’m so sorry I had to put you through this.

I love you, Izzie.

I looked over at Mia and saw her smile had faded. That last sentence must have made her real sad. I pulled her close again and kissed the top of her head.
“It will be okay Mia, she will come back to you sooner or later, or maybe you can go and visit her soon”
“She will come back” Mia stated matter of factly
“One day she will hottie, one day she will”
“No, look” She looked around for a bit and got something else out of the envelope and showed it to me. Izzie had send a picture of herself, making a funny face. That made me smile, but there was something else in the picture that made me understand Mia’s determined answer. The thing we both saw in the picture made me realize she could never stay away forever.... she was wearing Brian’s beanie.

Matt’s POV
Tammy sat in the studio together with the rest of us, except for Brian, we told him he should be coming over but he refused before he finished something in the piano room.
He was caging himself in there for days and nights, not letting any of us be part of whatever he wrote there.
“So, Izzie stayed with you for a couple of months?” Zacky asked and looked at Tammy expectantly.
“Yes, at first she was a little…” Tammy looked around and since Brian wasn’t in sight she said “She was a sad and I had a hard time to cheer her up but after that we had a lot of fun. And she kept bugging me to contact Matt, she is very persistent, you know.” Tammy finished and I nodded.
“Yep, she is.” I smiled and laid my arm around Tammy’s shoulders.
Jimmy went outside and Tammy and Mia were talking about the things Izzie and Tammy did while she was with her and how Izzie had planned to send Tammy over with her car, when the door to the piano room opened and Brian stepped out.
He didn’t seem to realize that we had a guest so I stood up and grabbed Brian’s shoulders.
“Brian? You remember Tammy?” I motioned to the couch and Tammy stood up.
“Hey Brian…” Tammy walked over to him and Brian nodded. “Sure, hey Tammy. Nice to see you again. Guys I’m going home.” With that Brian headed to the front door.
“Wait… Brian.” I stopped him and was confused, “Don’t you have anything… you wanna know maybe… I mean…” I didn’t really know. Tammy was the only person who had seen Izzie lately, but Brian seemed completely dismissive and just shrugged.
“How was your trip?” He asked bored and Tammy smiled sadly. “It was okay, I brought Mia’s car back.” Tammy told him and he looked up to her and nodded.
“Nice, alright… I need to leave, have a good evening guys. We will see us tomorrow…” With that Brian took his key and jacket and walked out.

Jimmy’s POV
While everybody was happily talking to Tammy and asking questions I nearly forgot my plan.
I was thinking about this for a while now and I just had to do it, had to try it.
But without anyone knowing.
I sneaked towards Mia, stole a kiss from her and leaned to her ear “Will be at the store to get us some drinks to celebrate. Will be back as soon as I can...”
Mia nodded and listened to Tammy’s story again. I walked past Mia’s bag and looked inside, her phone lay there and I took it very unremarkably and went out of the door without being noticed by anyone.

I went to my car and drove to the next store I could find, inside I didn’t pay any attention to the things I loaded the cart up with.
When I paid and put the bags in my car, I sat down behind the wheel and pulled Mia’s phone out.
I scrolled down for the number I was searching for, I looked at the contact. Izzie’s smiling face was staring back at me.
I had to try this and call her, I thought if I would call her from my number or an unknown number she wouldn’t pick up.
I sighed and thought I needed time to convince her about my plan, that’s why I would be calling her now. But she couldn’t turn me down… just couldn’t…
I touched the call button and waited for Izzie to pick up, it rang and rang and when I was about to hang up I heard Izzie’s voice.
“Babe? Hey… I’m sorry, I had my phone buried deep down in my bag, but gotcha. Are you okay? I really miss you.” Izzie said and I sighed.
“Izzie? It’s me…” I told her and heard a deep intake of breathe.
“Jimmy? What are you-” She stopped and I was afraid she would be hanging up on me so I rushed in.
“Please, don’t hang up on me. I have to ask you something, it’s important.” I told her and heard Izzie’s breathing.
“Is everything okay with Mia? Tell me everything is okay.” She asked finally and I chuckled.
“Yes, she is fine. Your surprise arrived a couple of hours ago.” I told her and she chuckled too.
“So Tammy found the way, was Mia happy that she got her car back?” Izzie asked.
“Yes, but she would have been happier if you would have come home together with it, and Iz, not only she would have been happy, we all miss you…” I trailed off.
“Jimmy, don’t… please. I just can’t… not yet.” Izzie sounded sad and I didn’t like that sound, I always wanted all my friends happy even when they were far away.
“Think about it, Iz.” I told her, but instead of answering she contoured with a question of her own.
“What do you want to ask me? What’s so important, that you steal Mia’s phone and sneak away to call me.” Izzie asked and I laughed loudly that she caught me like that.
“Damn, you know me well, huh?”
“I know you wouldn’t leave Mia for something that’s not important and since I can’t hear her around, I guess you are sitting outside? In a car maybe?” Izzie guessed and I grinned.
“Right, okay… my question is… did Mia tell you about the release party of our album? It’s not really a month anymore now, and I want to ask if you will be there. It’s really important that you are there.” I told her and Izzie didn’t answer.
“Jimmy, I can’t promise that. Why would it be important that I am there?” Izzie asked.
“Because, I am planning a surprise and I need you to be there… I also called Olly, he will be coming as well, I need everyone around, I want all our friends to be there, it’s big, Izzie… It’s our new record, you and Mia were part of it. You have to be there, I mean YOU HAVE TO!” Please say yes… please!
“Jimmy, I-” Izzie began and I knew she was trying to back out of my request. “Izzie, if it is not for the record or for Matt or the rest of the guys… Please, do this for me and Mia. Be there… Do you remember when I asked you about a favour in the restaurant, that you will talk to Mia when I am afraid that she will question everything?” I asked her and I knew that this was my only way now to convince her.
“I.. yes, I do.” Izzie said and I breathed deeply in and out. “I need you then, Izzie. Please be there.”
“I will think about it, Jimmy. I promise, but I need to hang up now. I will be in touch.” With that Izzie hung up before I could even say goodbye.
