Runaway Girl
01
"Mom, is their somebody moving across the street?" I asked my mother. A little girl stood outside while one man and an older boy unpacked boxes from a Uhaul truck. I was intrigued by the girl, she was probably my age.
"Yes dear there is." She answered. "Why don't you go over there and meet a new friend." She smiled. I nodded and went out the door, walking across the street to meet our new neighbors.
"Hi." I greeted the girl. She smiled at me. "My name is Raylan." I introduced myself and starting talking. We talked for what seemed forever until I saw him, the older boy walked out of the house and I immediately felt nervous. He looked marvelous, I was crushing from that very second...
"Ray? Raylan? Raylan!?" I awoke from my day dream as I sat on the benches outside in the school courtyard. "What Cassie?" I asked. "Day dreaming about Johnny again?" She giggled, making fun of the huge crush I've had on her brother from that day a little over five years ago. "No." I defended with a smile. "Why don't you just tell him." She pleaded with me, she's been pleading with me for that for years. I don't have enough courage. As of now I completely flop whenever I'm around him, just imagine trying to tell him I love him, and have for ages.
Just as I was about to answer I saw him, his beautiful hazel eyes and mismatched blond and black locks. He was beautiful and it felt as though my breath was being sucked from my lungs. The only problem was that blond bitch on his arm. She made me want to puke. "Why can't he be mine." I signed. "Cause you won't tell him!" Cassie exclaimed, slapping the back of my head as the bell rang. Another fantastic day at Huntington High, fabulously sucked.

"If only." I smiled, looking at the drawing I just drew in art class. It was of me and Johnny, him trying to teach me the bass. That was be amazing. "Get over yourself." Cassie smiled, nudging my arm. I looked at her angry but ended up smiling.
"Cassie, what time are you coming home?" Johnny walked in the art room, my heart dropped. "Oh I don't know." She smiled, acting like a smart ass. The usual. "Are you coming over for dinner?" He asked, pointing to me. A lump was in my throat. I felt like I couldn't talk. "Sure." I squeaked. "Cool." He smiled.
He started to walk out of the room until something caught his eye, my drawing. "Sweet ass piece of art Raylan." He complimented, looking down at my drawing. "Kind of looks like me and you huh." He winked at me and walked out of the room. I could feel my face grow warm. I was so embarrassed.
"Well, have fun coming to dinner tonight." Cassie laughed. I was so ready to puke, I was so nervous about tonight. How could I possibly be in the room with Johnny for that long? I mean sure, I’ve know this guy for years but every single year has become worse for me. He sends me signals that I should act on, only to find him wrapped around another worthless girl’s finger.
