Carry On

The next day..

"Good morning" Brian crept behind me, and kissed my neck as I washed a few mugs from yesterday. I'd missed him startling me from behind and creeping his arms around my waist.

"Morning," I giggled. I aimed my arm over my shoulder, and flicked my hand open dropping water over Brian.

"Last night was, perfect baby" he chuckled in my ear. I had to admit, for once I'd forgotten everything! The guilt of Zack fell from my mind, the worry of Gracie hearing me unfortunately left too.

"I know" I smiled turning around to face him. "Look, I'm, really sorry about before with Zack, I know he's our best friend, and none of it was his fault so you should never talk to him about it, or blame anything on him eith--" he silenced me with a kiss.

"That's over with, alright?" he said annoyingly but calmly. "This is a new start"

"Alright," I agreed. "But, seriously, last night" I blushed.

"What happened last night?" Gracie skipped into the kitchen and cuddled up to Brians leg. He picked her up and span her around in the air.

"You're idea worked, that's what happened"

"Um.." she thought. "Are you getting married?!"

"I told you this little brain box came up with it," Bri winked kissing her flushed cheek.

"Yay!!" she squealed.

"I, am going to get a shower" he placed her down and gave me a sweet smile.

"Mommy," Gray slyly asked. Before I said, 'yes', she carried on anyway. "Can I go to uncle Zacks today?"

"What? Oh, sweetie, um," It was hard to say no, there wasn't any particular reason why she couldn't. I just had a problem with it. I knew if even called to ask if it was alright, at some point I'd be forced to tell him about the renewal. The baby situation was really unnecessary for him to know, that was between me and Brian. "I'll, give him a ring" I sighed reluctantly going upstairs to grab my phone. Brian noticed my annoyed mood, and gave me a long lasting hug.

"What's up now?" he laughed.

"Gray wants to go to Zacks"

"So..?"

"You don't have a problem with it?" I frowned.

"No, I mean, they get along I don't see why she can't spend more time with him. It's not as if you're being forced to stay there? Zack is great with kids, with Gracie in particular, you can trust him"

"Yeah," I shook my head and left Brians arms. "I wittle too much"

"Yes you do! Just give him a call, and tell Gray I love her" Brian had started telling her that more often since the incident, she loved it.

"Alright"

"Hey, maybe Gracie should go to Zacks more often," he winked giving me a sexual reference.

"Huh," I smirked pushing him into the bathroom and shutting the door on him. I walked away gave Zack a text.

'Hi Zacks, Gracie want's to come spend some time with you. I totally understand if you'd rather not. If it's alright, I'll come drop her off. We need to talk xxx'

*5 minutes later*

"Yep"

...

After the short and sweet answer, I drove Gracie to Zacks house. When he opened the door, we weren't even up the drive. Gracie ran up to him and he quickly scooped her up.

"Hey princess," he grinned.

"Hi uncle Zack" she smiled.

"You want a coffee?" Zack asked me re-adjusting his grip with Gracie.

"No, just a talk"

...

"Ok, you go set up" Zack urged Gray to leave the kitchen, and go outside to set up a game. "So, what?"

"Me and Brian, are alright" I smiled to myself remembering what a night I had last night. "We're alright" Before Graice scuttled off, I lifted her up onto my lap so I could retie the laces of her small red converse.

"Good" it was clear by his tone that isn't really what he wanted to hear.

"Mommy and Daddy are going to get married!!" she gasped. "Again!"

Zackys face immediately dropped and flushed, he put his coffee down quickly thankfully as I was sure it was going to fall from his weak grip effortlessly with shock.

"Ok sweetie, go outside now" I sighed pushing her along a little. She happily ran off and I tightly squinted my eyes together. "That was what I wanted to talk to you about"

"I don't think I wanna hear it" his eyes glued to today's newspaper, he couldn't even look at me.

"You're my bestfriend, you should be happy for me" I sighed again.

"I am" he coughed. "I just don't want to hear it"

"I want you to hear it," I glared at him in hope he'd look me in the eye. But, nothing.

"I won't listen"

"Look at me!!" I yelled. He quickly shot up to me, and I could see glistens of tears forming in his green eyes. "I have told you, those two nights were not a mistake, Brian knows about it and that is it. Alright?! I've also told you they meant something to me--"

"You are now remarrying. I swear yesterday you had the pen ready to sign the fucking divorce papers"

"That is between me and Bri, alright? I want us to carry on normally. I'll never forget those nights, never. I just, want to carry on with my marriage. I am doing the right thing, Zacks. Please, just, be happy"

"I can see it now, next you'll be fucking pregnant again and I'll be lumped with Brian questioning me if I used protection" I sunk into my chair and released that could be a possibility if I became pregnant too soon, Bri would get super suspicious. As would Zack. "What..?" he noticed my nervousness and got angry. "Oh, fucking great" he jumped from his chair and poured the full mug of coffee into the sink.

"Just, please. Be happy for me Zack" I hugged his stiff body, but he soon relaxed and hugged me back.

"I just don't believe you are" he gently whispered.
