Carry On

The next morning.

"Morning!" I smiled as I saw Ren and Gracie walk out of there room. Grace skipped straight to the bathroom after giving me a huge cheesy smile whilst Ren sat on the breakfast bar in silence. "So today, I think it would be awesome to go down to the water park, it's a really nice day today right? It might not be tomorrow, the forecast is shitty" I said flipping a piece of bacon over. "What do ya say?"

"Who was it?" She said quietly, almost in a whisper.

"Who..?"

"Brian, you're cooking breakfast, there's free breakfast downstairs. You've walked into this yourself. You're talking as if everything is alright, just tell me who"

"Look," I snapped. "I get it alright? But while we're on holiday I'd much prefer to even pretend we're a happy family. Gracie has been waiting for this for too long, I'm not ruining it for her"

"I don't even think I can stand three weeks with you" she sighed. I could tell she'd been crying a lot of the night too. Her eyes were red, and I'd even seen her walk out of the hotel room and stole my cigarettes for a smoke. To say she'd quit ages ago, that is just an example of her anger. "You've cheated far too many times, I don't think I can get over this one"

"Don't say that, jesus" my heart dropped in worry I'd loose her. "I get that too, but please, do this for Gracie" It was than I realised I wasn't really married anymore. I was separated. It wasn't even my fault.

"Do what for me daddy?" she skipped sitting next to Ren.

"Well, mommy didn't want to go to the water park today because she's got a headache, but it seems she's all better now?" I asked Renee. "...right?"

"Right" she sighed grinding her teeth together. "I'm gonna take a shower"

"Sweetie you're breakfast is ready" I said stopping her from entering the bathroom.

"I'm not hungry" she snapped pushing me put of the way. I couldn't stress how much this wasn't my fault.
