Hostage

Alicia’s POV

I woke to a ringing noise but I felt so comfortable in bed that I couldn’t bring myself to get up.
I buried my face even deeper in my pillow and grabbed for the blanket to cover me completely.
I inhaled deeply and patted with my hand at the pillow, the scent was a lot more masculine then I remembered.
I shook my head slightly not wanting to think too much so early, so I just snuggled closer and got back to sleep, forgetting about the stupid noise that woke me in the first place.

This time my pillow moved and I was turned to the side… I frowned in my sleep, how could my pillow move?
Hmm… but it was so warm and comforting… no time to worry…

Until the ringing started again… ARRGHHH!
Damn it, why now?
“Alicia? Alicia?” I heard Zack’s voice beside me and I frowned even more.
“Alicia, wake up. It’s your phone!”

I opened my eyes and now everything made sense, the pillow moving and the warmth, the good sleep tonight that was all Zack’s doing.
He looked sleepy as hell, his eyes had dark circles underneath his eyes and he rubbed uncomfortably his neck and tried to stretch his neck to one side to work on the stiff muscles.
“Oh shit.. I am sorry, did you sit here all night long?” I looked at him a little shocked.
“Well, I guess I didn’t really sit, it was half sitting and half lying, but yeah. I am sorry, I wanted to go back to the living room, but I must have fallen asleep at some point.” He blushed a little and I couldn’t help but smile at his behavior.
“You are too sweet. Thank you.” I leaned towards him, kissing his cheek.
He looked at me when I moved away again, and I realized I just wore a shirt, without bra and only my panties, I had snuggles so close to him that he must have noticed that already, now he was staring at me and I knew that when I would look down, my nipples were hard and must be showing exactly that through my shirt.
I felt Zack’s eyes wandering down, confirming my suspicion and this time it was me blushing.
“I…” Had no clue what to say but was saved or well maybe not really saved but interrupted by the phone again.
“Oh shit, right. Your phone.” Zack got up and sat immediately back down.
I frowned at him and he looked at me then back to where the ringing was coming from and when I looked down on his lap I had to stifle a small laugh, he didn’t want me to see that I wasn’t the only one affected this morning.

I got off the bed and walked in the living room grabbing my phone from my bag and looked at the caller it was like a cold shower.
“Hospital?” I swallowed thickly before picking up and suddenly I felt two strong hands on my shoulder comforting me again.
“Alicia Davis?”
“Oh Mrs. Davis, good morning.Dr. Travis speaking.”
“Good morning, Dr. Travis. Are the results ready?” I asked and my voice nearly broke.
“Yes, I wanted to ask if you got time this noon to come over so we can discuss the outcome?” Dr. Travis said and my knees nearly buckled, my hands began to sweat. Today, today was the day I would know what turn my future would take…
“I.. yes..” Zack’s hand grabbed my waist now, his body holding me on my feet.
“Alright, at 1 oclock, would that be okay? I will inform the reception to send you up to my office right away.”
“Okay, yes. I.. will be there.” I hung up and turned into Zack’s arms.
“And?” He lifted his eyebrows.
“At one, I have an appointment with the doctor to discuss the results. I am so scared, Zack.”
“We… I will be coming with you of course. I can call Caroline if you want. I… you know…” Zack asked and I shook my head.
“No, please don’t. I will call her when I know what’s going on. I don’t want her to worry too much, she has gone with me through everything already once, this time I want to spare her… and you as well. You don’t have to come along, Zack. This has nothing to do with you.”
“Come on, Alicia, I don’t wanna hear that. I owe you some more fears, I guess. Let me think about it…” Zack joked and I smiled, laying my face on his chest again inhaling his masculine scent, the one I liked so much when I woke up.

“Thank you. For yesterday for the night… and that you still want to come with me today.”
I laid my hands around his body, hugging him close.
“Don’t mention it…” I heard him whisper in my hair and then I felt his lips at my temple and a feather light kiss.
I looked up and his green eyes bore into mine, I lifted my head a little higher, tiptoeing until our lips were only inches apart.
He sucked the corner of his lips into his mouth playing with the piercing on one side and I wondered how it would feel like if he was playing with me like that.
Then I remembered that I didn’t want to start anything before I knew what the results would say.
I pulled away again and broke the eye contact, feeling disappointed not having tasted him just once.

“I will drive home, get freshened up and come back afterwards so we can go together to the hospital?” Zack broke the uncomfortable silence.
“Yes, what time is it?”
“11 already, so we don’t have that much time.” Zack replied pulling his phone out.
“Oh.. alright. I will do the same, you will be here in time?” I asked him.
“Sure I will.” He nodded and grabbed his jacket from the couch.
I walked together with him towards the door, I opened up and we stood at the entrance.

He made a step out and I couldn’t help it, I grabbed his hand in mine and pulled him back,
he must have been surprised by my action and when he stood close before me I just grabbed his cheeks and pecked his lips.
Not a long and sensual kiss just a small meeting of lips, soon over and not really what I hoped for but that was all I would grant me now.
Zacky seemed to be completely shocked by my sudden action but when I backed away again with a grin he seemed to regain his composure and grinned.
“What was that for?” He laughed.
“Just a thank you and see you soon.” I grinned and Zack moved a step forward grabbing my hand in his, pulling my hand up to his lips giving each of my knuckles a small kiss before he finally left and I closed the door.

I moved back to the living room staring at my phone, normally I needed to make at least one more call.
I made a promise and I would keep my promise and when I was really honest with myself I wanted him to be there as well.
I chose Matt’s number and pushed the call button.
I might need all the strength that I could get at this appointment and I might need Matt’s strength even more than Zack’s?
I shook my head, hearing the voicemail of Matt immediately.
I tried again and again just voicemail.
I decided to leave a message, just a small one.

“Hey Matt, it’s Alicia. I… I promised to call you. So… I just wanted to let you know that I have the appointment today… at one o’clock. If you could be there… I mean.. want to… anyway…just so you know… Bye.”
I couldn’t believe this, what did I just say… this was stupid and now he had my stuttering on his voicemail.
Oh damn… too late now anyway… but still I hoped that he would be there…
