you saved me

*Zack's POV*
Once Matt and I were in the car, I began to cry uncontrollably. "C'mon man," Matt said gently, "she'll be okay." "She shouldn't be hurt!" I nearly shouted, "It's my fault....." I whispered. "Have you met that woman?" Matt asked, I knew he was trying to cheer me up, "even if you could fight for yourself she would've fought for you!" "I G-Guess y-your right." I said through my sobs.
When we got into the E.R. Matt sat down in the waiting room. I couldn't sit. I was pacing the room when Jimmy, Johnny and Brian walked in. Johnny and Brian sat down by Matt while Jimmy came over and wrapped me in a hug. It was then that I realized how tired I was. Without thinking, I leaned on Jimmy. The smaller man stumbled back slightly from the unexpected extra weight.
"Let's sit down. Okay?" Jimmy whispered. I nodded and he lead me to a seat. I sat down, bent over so my chest was resting on my knees, wrapped my arms around my legs and continued to cry. Jimmy rubbed my back and s tried to calm me down. "She'll be okay Zack," he whispered, "she's tough. She'll get through this."
I don't know how long we sat there, but eventually I heard a man saying, "family for Jessica Alverize?" I started to stand but I moved too quickly and started to fall back down. Brian caught me. "You okay man?" He asked, concerned. "I'm good." I replied before standing, slowley this time, and turning to face the nurse. "Relationship?" He asked. "I'm her boyfriend," I answered quickly, "is she okay?" He nodded. I was releved.
"We got her stitched up and she's in room 256, you can go up and see her now. She'll be out for a while longer but she should come to in an hour or so. She can go home first thing tomorrow." I nodded and the man left.
I turned to find Brian was standing behind me. "Zack, go home man," He said gently, "she's fine. But you're not." Brian never sugar coats things. I shook my head, "I can't leave her." "I'll stay with her. If you don't get some sleep you're going to end up in a hospital too." He said sternly. I shook my head again. "Look," Brian huffed, "Matt's going to take you home, your going to eat something, then your going to go to bed. Okay?" "But I don't....." "Don't argue with me."
I gave up and tried turn to face Matt, but I lost my balance when I turned. Matt caught me, "let's get you home man," he said before leading me out the door.
