I don't belong here.

As I watched Johnny exit, I turned to see Matt staring at me with a cheeky grin on his face, I didn't know why but his smile made me weak at the knees. “Is there a reason for why you are smiling at me like that Matt?” I chuckled, he nodded his head. “ So what’s up with the laced underwear then thong girl?” he said chuckling to himself with the expression on his face as if he could break down at any moment as he thought my new nickname was the best thing since sliced bread. It was cute but rather annoying as that wasn't the first impression hoped for. I shook my head in jokingly way and guided Matt upstairs to find the bedroom to put away the suitcases. “Upstairs already… But we barely know each other” he said in a jokey tone of voice, “in your dreams sunshine” I replied.

It had been an hour and half since my event out on the front lawn, and Matt was still here, we were sitting around the island in my kitchen talking. Thankfully when I bought the house it was already furnished so there were not much to unpack except form a couple of nick knacks, clothes etc. We had been sat at the island for a while talking about each other getting to know one another, it was fun and it had been the best conversation I had in a while, it also helped me forget about the reason I moved to OC in the first place.

Matt had asked but I lied and said it was a job opportunity, however I wasn't completely lying to him, I had found myself a job as a manager of a music store called ‘SoundPad’, I couldn't wait to start, music was my life…it always had been., and the fact that I had just met the lead singer of one of my favorite bands, just made everything a whole lot better. But the fact that that he had not actually mentioned anything about his career, I felt like I was getting to know Matt Sanders…not M.shadows. I liked it, very much so that I was going to wait for him to say something as I didn't want to look like I was just another crazy fan girl.

“So you play the guitar, that’s awesome, how long have you been playing?” Matt said, we had been talking about hobbies and I told him that I play the guitar.

“About 11 years, I started when I was 13, I was persuaded by my dad to pick up a new skill and as at the time I had found some of my dad’s Cd’s, including Guns n roses appetite for destruction album, I went through an obsession stage and I adored slash’s talent so I decided to learn to play, my dad then took me to a music store and picked up an acoustic so I could learn to start with , then when I got better he bought me an electric for my 15th, since then it’s been my medicine for when I was angry or felt low” I said with such confidence, this topic was something I didn't care to hide away, I could play and I knew I was talented and I could see that Matt found it interesting that I knew how to play. It also reminded me that I had left my guitar in the boot of my car, as I got up I headed to get the car keys of the coffee table.

“So not just a thong girl, but a hot rock chick too, wow you got the whole package going on”- I blushed and turned to him and smiled, I must have been red as a fucking tomato. “No need to be embarrassed Nora, your smoking and you never know you may give Syn a run for his money” Matt said as he stretched. There it was he had mentioned the lead guitarist of Avenged Sevenfold, Brian Haner Jr or more known by his fan base as Syn or Synster Gates. Now it was my turn to play dumb and reply.

“Who’s Syn?” I said chuckling to myself on the inside.
