"That's what happens." She said, "You let people in, and they destroy you"

"But I love her, Ruby, I really love her." He said, his eyes sad and worn.

Suddenly there Amy was, she burst in and took the whole room with authority. As much as she tried to look like she wasn't going to be fucked with Ruby couldn't help but just look at her like a fool, she was losing the best thing to ever happen to her and it was just a joke.

"I want you out of this house. Now." Her breathing was unsteady, incredibly fast.

"But I just want to talk.." Johnny whimpered.

"No! No talking! Just leave!" She screamed.

"I loved you!' He yelled. He jumped out of his chair so quickly she never saw it coming. "I loved you and you destroyed me. You took my heart and ripped it up. You might as well have staked me!" The change in his features also caught me by surprise. His voice filled the room, so much grief, so much anger. So unlike the usual Johnny. He strode toward her hand clasped over his chest.

"I. Loved. You. And you used me the whole time."

She was taken by surprise, none of us expected him to act that way, not one bit of me thought he ever could. Suddenly her own features changed, her open mouth changed into a smirk, she shook her head and chuckled slightly.

"Love? Don't make me laugh!" She scoffed. "You know nothing of 'love' it's just a figment of your fucking imagination!"

Ruby had never seen anyone look as hurt he did after she spat those words at him. He couldn't even reply, his throat tightened and his voice was lost. His body crippled, he was paralysed by the venom from her words and all he could do was sink further and further to the ground, wishing it would swallow him whole.

Ruby gathered herself together and went to leave, grabbing Johnny's hand and leading him with her. She stopped at Amy's feet seeing her venomous eyes clouded with evil.

"Congratulations." Ruby spat. "You lost the best thing that ever happened to you but you were too stupid to notice through all of the bullshit taking over your mind."

"Fuck off, little girl."

"I'm not scared of you." She was millimetres away from Amy's face, her body shaking and fists clenched.

"Come on." Johnny was now pulling her out of the door, she had almost erupted, something she had told herself she'd never do again years ago.

In the car it was silent. She could hear Johnny's heavy, deep breaths on her shoulder. His whole body was still in shock as Matt drove them back to his place. Ruby felt flushed and tired and Johnny was concentrating on calming down. She rested her face on the window. The cold glass felt good against her cheek, she could feel the migraine, that had began in his apartment, slowly start to fade. Her eyes closed, but She didn't sleep. She was trying to breathe. They were safe.

The car stopped, the engines silenced and the door slammed. Her eyes flew open and she was in the car, alone, with Johnny. She could feel him staring at her. Johnny felt a tear run down his face as she looked at him. She leant over and stroked it away, her hand was warm and strong, compared to how he felt. She brought his head to her chest and held him tight. She embraced his scent. He felt like home.

Of course she could never tell him, she couldn't. He was in love with someone she could only describe as Satan. Amy stole the hearts and souls of men and laughed as they crumbled to the ground, she was pure evil.

Ruby Elisabeth Monroe was in love with Jonathan Lewis Seward, yet he had no idea or intention of ever falling in love again.

"What's wrong?" He asked, he could see her emotions running riot and thoughts exploding in her brain.

"Nothing." She whispered, still glancing at the swaying trees.

"I don't think you know how hard it is to be friends with you."

"Because I don't dump my problems on everybody?"

"Because you're sad and you won't talk about it."

"My main concern for right now is you, Johnny. We don't need to deal with my problems." Her eyes looked sadder than ever, he couldn't help but wish if there was anything in the world to make her happy he would do it.

He'd secretly always had a certain soft spot for her, a special feeling. There was an aura about Ruby that brought happiness to him no matter what was going on. But he'll only ever be her best friend, that's all he ever is.
