Lizzy’s POV
My “Little piece of heaven” ringtone woke me up. I loved that song, but not in the early morning. What time was it? I looked at Zacky’s alarmclock. 11 am. I admit, it wasn’t that early, but I didn’t really sleep much after our “baby talk”. There it was again. Where the hell was my phone? “Yes Izzie, he brought Tess to his parents, they were together for quite some time.” I heard her think. “Did they like her?”

I sighed again “You know what Izzie, I don’t know, they were always respectful about her, but that’s just the kind of people they are. His sister could have killed Tess when she left him and I think his parents worried a lot about him then, but they would never say anything bad about anyone. That’s just not who they are.”

Zack popped his head around the door “Who?” He mouthed “Izzie, be right there” I replied.

“Look Iz, just go. Matt loves you, that is why he wants you to meet them. He is serious about you. You can trust him, if he wasn’t sure, he wouldn’t introduce you. You will have the best time, I’m sure. Send them my love, okay?”

I heard Izzie sigh on the other side of the line “Okay. I will. Thanks Liz”

“No problem at all” I smiled. “Bye Izzie, don’t worry too much” I hung up the phone and got into bed with Zack again “What was that all about?” he asked. “Matt is taking Izzie to meet his parents this afternoon” Zack looked at me “So he is really serious about her, huh? Matt’s POV
It was only a 30 minute drive to my parents house, but I needed that time to calm down Izzie. She was sitting next to me, being quiet, staring out of the window. Oh shit! I totally forgot to introduce Izzie to my dad. “Dad, Izzie, Izzie, dad”. My dad gave Izzie a hand and a kiss on her cheek and then sat down next to her. “What was that all about?” I asked Izzie. “Well, she is playing a game in Los Angeles next weekend and she asked us to come over. She wanted to meet me” Izzie blushed. “That is actually a really good idea, we can book a hotel, just stay there all weekend?” She nodded “I’d like that”

“So Izzie, tell me a little about yourself” My mom took over the conversation. As I listened to Izzie telling about her friends, her job, her friendship with Brian, I felt like the happiest man in the world. This couldn’t have gone any better. After 3 hours of talking and a delicious dinner, cooked by my mom, we decided to head home again.

Izzie hugged both my parents before she stepped outside. My mom held me close and said to me quietly “This one is a keeper, Matthew, be wise and be careful with her. You might only get one of this” I kissed her on the cheek “I know mom, I intend to” I helped Izzie into the car and walked over to the driver’s side, where my dad was waiting for me “Drive save son, you need to get this pretty lady home safe” He looked into the car, giving Izzie a wink. He embraced me with one arm “You might be right about the thing you said the other day. Don’t keep her waiting too long.” he said to me. Did he just mean what I thought he meant?! I smiled to myself, I had the best parents. They were always so supportive of everything I did, I couldn’t have had it any better.

I stepped into the car and watch them wave us goodbye until we disappeared around the corner. “Thank you” Izzie put her hand on mine. I looked over at her “What are you thanking me for?” I smiled. “For forcing me to come with you, for showing me that normal families do exist.” I kissed her hand “In that case, you’re welcome”.
